Chapter 232 The Crush
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Dozens of monitors broadcast the feed, capturing every corner of the Kuoh Academy Talent Copy in vivid detail. Right now, six screens dominated the center of the display.
The screen in the upper-left corner showed the Occult Research Room. Rias was half-reclined on the sofa, looking utterly relaxed. Aki and Asia sat on either side of her, just as at ease. Knowing that several high-profile figures were watching this broadcast, Aki didn’t waste time with any funny business. For one thing, he didn’t want others ogling the alluring sight of Rias and the little blonde nun; for another, he wanted to maintain the persona of Rias’s peerage as it stood today.
In the lower-right, the scene in the Principal’s office showed Riser Phoenix’s face shifting through a spectrum of colors. His initial smugness had vanished, replaced entirely by gloom and frustration. Unlike the spectators, he couldn’t clearly gauge the status of the peerages’ battle, but the magical fluctuations alone told him that things were looking grim.
The remaining four screens were dedicated to the four battlefields. Amano Yuuma (Raynare) and Himejima Akeno were both in the courtyard, one in the sky and one on the ground, sharing a single screen. As the battle commenced, Sona Sitri and Shinra Tsubaki specifically pulled up two extra close-up feeds.
The peerage battle didn’t last long. As everyone had expected, it was a complete blowout. But what shocked them was that it was Riser Phoenix’s peerage being crushed—not the Rias peerage, which was outnumbered by more than half.
The first to decide the outcome was Yuuto. Beyond being the first to engage, his Knight class granted him significant speed advantages. Facing the two “well-endowed” maids, he showed not a shred of pity, demonstrating to the audience that there are no wrong nicknames, only wrong expectations.
On the flat school pavement, countless bizarre magical swords seemed to sprout from the earth, their razor-sharp blades transforming into a forest of barbs. Brent and Marion, whose strength barely scraped the threshold of A-rank, hadn’t been able to make it into the club building, failing to utilize their Pawn promotion abilities. Their maid uniforms were shredded, their delicate skin weeping blood.
”Can’t say I’m surprised by the man—er, the person—known for creating magic swords…” Brent groaned, clutching a jagged wound.
Despite his resentment, being two-on-one and completely outclassed—without even a chance to escape this forest of blades—the two of them could only smile bitterly and concede. Before leaving the field, Brent tried to flirt with the blonde beauty who had maintained a gentlemanly demeanor the entire time.
”You’re my type, you know? How about we grab a bite to eat after this?”
”I’ll have to pass,” Yuuto replied, his voice cold and neutral. “I already have plans.”

”That’s a real shame.”
[Two Pawns of Riser Phoenix, eliminated.]
Yuuto let out a soft breath. That was an easier win than he had expected. Due to his physical condition, he hadn’t been able to skyrocket his cultivation as quickly as the others, but the special training had clearly paid off. Having been tempered by the exponential growth of his companions and constant combat against strong enemies, he was already invincible among his peers.
Initially, he had been cautious, but he quickly realized there was no need. Brent and Marion weren’t actually weak, and their coordination was excellent. It was just that, having trained incessantly against the likes of Amano Yuuma (Raynare) and Aki, Yuuto had been thoroughly polished.
Finding himself under no pressure, he maintained his usual style, giving the two maids enough face. After a dozen rounds, he used his “Blade Creation” ability to trap them, intending to wait for the other battles to conclude before finishing them off. He hadn’t expected them to be so convinced of their defeat that they would voluntarily surrender.
As the silver-haired beauty acting as the judge finished broadcasting the notification, another battle ended elsewhere.
[Six Pawns of Riser Phoenix, incapacitated.]
Yuuto’s broadcast screen switched to the corner, and Sona Sitri shifted the footage of Mittelt and Kalawarner’s battle to the center. The two Fallen Angels weren’t as “gentle” as Yuuto. Even though they had reincarnated into Devils, the Fallen Angel bloodline still flowed within them.
Light-based power was naturally suppressive to Devils. Coupled with an absolute dominance in strength, even two against six, the fight was over in less than ten minutes. Two pairs of jet-black wings emerged behind them. Having reached S-Rank, their Fallen Angel wings had gained an extra pair.
”I wonder if Yuuma-sama has finished yet?” Mittelt asked, her voice light and teasing.1
”Probably soon,” Kalawarner replied, a smirk playing on her lips. “If the rest of them are at this level, for Yuuma-sama, this is just a warm-up.”
Mittelt and Kalawarner chatted as they hovered in the low air on their dark wings. Not far in front of them, six schoolgirls lay unconscious on the ground. Even in their comatose state, their faces were etched with expressions of terror and pain.
Within the Occult Research Club, aside from Asia, who was responsible for healing, these two had the lowest combat power. In every live combat drill, they were the ones who usually ended up getting beaten. To finally be the ones doing the crushing made them both quite happy. Well, after breaching S-Rank, they could finally hold a slight edge over Yuuto. They knew this was fleeting; the moment Yuuto hit S-Rank, they would be relegated to “little sisters” once again.
”Speaking of which, what do we do about them?” Mittelt asked, frowning with concern. “Just leave them here? What if they die?”
”No idea,” Kalawarner shrugged. “If I hadn’t followed Koaki and reincarnated into a Devil, I wouldn’t have even known Devils fought like this nowadays.”
Kalawarner was equally dubious, though still riding the high of victory. Although they had deliberately avoided lethal zones, there would still be life-threatening risks if they weren’t treated in time—especially the pair of green-haired loli twins among the six. Those two had been jumping around the most and wielded the most dangerous-looking chainsaws, so Mittelt had taken “special care” of them.
Now, the twins’ chainsaws were piles of scrap metal, and they were nearly broken themselves. Their limbs were riddled with over a dozen puncture wounds from light spears, and their small bodies had been driven deep into the soil by one of Kalawarner’s heavy kicks. Looking at the spiderweb cracks in the ground around them, they’d likely suffered several broken bones.
As the twins’ breathing grew fainter, they shimmered into faint blue particles and vanished right in front of Mittelt and Kalawarner.
”Looks like there’s a safety measure,” Mittelt noted.
”Yeah. It is a competition, after all. It’d be too hard to ensure zero casualties without something like this.”
The two muttered a few words, a weight lifting off their chests. If someone had actually died, it would be a headache to clean up. Akira could easily incapacitate an opponent, but killing them would be inexcusable in any context—especially in a match where rules explicitly prohibited it. Doing so could result in a penalty or an instant forfeit.
In this space, once one’s aura dropped to a certain threshold, they would be forcibly teleported out to receive immediate care from the medical team on standby. But this mechanism wasn’t foolproof—like against certain persistent damage. Even after being teleported out, the medics might not be able to fix it. Or, if the force was too overwhelming, the spatial mechanism might not react in time, leading to accidents. In short: if they were one-shotted, the mechanism wouldn’t trigger.
With no further worries, Mittelt and Kalawarner didn’t linger. They planned to meet up with Yuuto, who had also finished her fight, and then go elsewhere to watch the rest of the matches up close.
”Hey, Yuto, where are you?” Mittelt called out through the communicator.
”I’m on my way back to the courtyard,” Yuuto answered calmly. “Yuuma and Akeno-senpai are there.”
”What about Koneko? She hasn’t finished her opponent yet?”
A few seconds later, the cold voice of the white-haired loli echoed through the communicator. “Yeah. There’s a pretty strong opponent in here.”
”Eh? Where are you? I want to come take a look,” Mittelt pressed.
Mittelt was surprised. She knew how strong Koneko was; she couldn’t imagine anyone on the other side holding out against her for this long.
”Gymnasium,” Koneko whispered, then cut the link.
In those few short seconds, she had already taken several hits from her opponent head-on.

Summary:
The Rias peerage dominates the Talent Copy match, showcasing their overwhelming strength against Riser Phoenix’s peerage. Yuuto swiftly dispatches her opponents, followed by Mittelt and Kalawarner, who conclude their battle with brutal efficiency. The peerage members contemplate the morality of their victory while acknowledging the protective mechanics of the arena. Koneko, however, remains locked in a challenging fight at the gymnasium, setting the stage for a tougher confrontation.
—
Trivia:
Riser Phoenix cannot clearly gauge the battle status through the broadcast due to his limited perspective.
Fallen Angels retain their bloodline characteristics even after reincarnating into Devils.
The arena uses a spatial mechanism to teleport casualties to medical support to prevent fatalities.
Koneko is currently in the gymnasium facing a strong opponent, which stands in contrast to the rapid victories of her peers.
