Chapter 430 Sephie and Liala
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Inside the Barrier, after listening to Leohart’s story, Aki said, exasperated, “If the Curia can find a way to alter your Bloodline, then naturally I’ve got my own ways to integrate the Demon King bloodline.”
”Hmm, I suppose you’re right. Compared to the Demon King bloodline the Curia’s been secretly hoarding, having a living source like Naruse Mio nearby—someone you can draw from anytime—does make acquiring Demon King bloodline a fairly simple matter.”
Leohart stayed calm, replying, “Whoever you are, however you obtained the Demon King bloodline, if you have a way out of here, I’d ask you to act.”
After his initial shock, the young Demon King finally regained his usual composure.
Since Aki dared to enter alongside Naruse Mio, he surely had a solution to the restriction that only one person could leave alive.
Otherwise, even if he killed Leohart and let Naruse Mio survive, one of the two would still have to die.
Aki didn’t actually have a specific solution—or rather, if he had to say something, he’d simply destroy the Colosseum outright.
He could do it. But now wasn’t the time.
If the Colosseum were destroyed, Aki’s true power would be exposed, and certain parties still lurking in the shadows might just take off running.
”My woman’s on the front lines, and I’m not worried. What’s your hurry?”
Aki didn’t bother explaining to Leohart. He said flatly, “If you can’t sit still, go spar with Mio. If you can beat her, I might just break this Barrier open ahead of schedule.”
It was the perfect opportunity to give Naruse Mio some practical combat experience.
Demon King-class sparring partners weren’t easy to find.
With that, the black cat leaped down from the girl’s full chest, flickering instantly to a massive floating boulder not far away.
Leohart looked at the red-haired twintailed schoolgirl with the generous bust standing before him, ready for battle, then glanced outside at Shela and Lucia fighting on the front lines.
His eyebrow twitched. Finally, he realized Aki’s true identity.
”So the rumors about the so-called Red Dragon Emperor’s Dual cultivation Ability being able to absorb Bloodline Talent—I thought they were just hearsay. Never imagined they were actually true…”
As Aki’s power grew and his abilities became increasingly absurd, he naturally attracted more attention.
Some sharp individuals quickly pieced together clues about his Talent Copy Talent ability.
But without concrete evidence, it was just speculation.
After all, no matter how you looked at it, after Dual cultivation with Aki, the girls never lost their own Talent abilities—they only grew stronger.
This time, Aki didn’t deny what Leohart said. But he didn’t confirm it either.
Those outside could see what was happening inside, but to hear their conversation, they’d have to enter the Colosseum themselves.
And at this point, his identity wasn’t the real issue anymore. If anything, exposing it might finally make those restless parties throw caution to the wind.
While Aki monitored the battle outside, plenty of eyes were fixed on the changes inside the Colosseum.
Everyone in hiding had their own theories about who this mysterious black cat really was—and quite a few arrived at the same conclusion as Leohart.
Even Sephie, who returned to Demon King Castle at some point and watched everything from the shadows, began to wonder if her philandering older brother might have other children out there.
Some connected the dots to the Red Dragon Emperor too, but they were the minority. After all, no matter how you spun it, a cat and a dragon had nothing in common.
This world didn’t have any creature called a “dragon-cat.”
”Just focus on being her sparring partner. You talk too much.”
Aki swung a paw, sending out a chain-like Magic circle.
Startled, Leohart instinctively tried to dodge—but no matter which way he moved, he couldn’t escape it.
When the Magic circle struck, the chain-like patterns hardened into something like real chains, then sank into Leohart’s body.
A wave of weakness washed over Leohart. Before he could ask what was happening, Aki said: “Relax. It’s just a temporary seal—makes your fight with Mio a little more fair.”
Hearing that, Leohart’s face, a mix of shock and anger, eased slightly.
He focused and checked it carefully—it really was just a temporary seal. Even if he didn’t actively try to break it, it would naturally fade in about half an hour.
After that half-threatening lesson from Aki, the young Demon King, His Majesty, didn’t dare step out of line again and obediently settled into his role as Naruse Mio’s sparring partner.
With his power sealed, Leohart held the upper hand at first thanks to his seasoned combat experience. But as time passed, Naruse Mio’s extraordinary Talent started showing.
Seemingly endless Mana. Instant-cast Blazing Hot flame attacks. A Gravity Magic field with no blind spots…
Aki’s sealing move caught the attention of watchers, pushing some wavering parties to finally take a gamble.
”Whoever that is, they seem to be on Naruse Mio Your Highness’s side. And they don’t seem hostile toward Leohart either.”
”Yeah. In that case, let’s deal with the Curia first. With that one helping, victory’s guaranteed.”
Besides determining a winner, the Colosseum had one other condition for leaving.
Nothing in this world was absolute—it wasn’t always possible to have a clear victor.
If the fight ended in a draw, or both parties were left crippled, would they just let the new Demon King succession collapse?
To prevent such situations, if no winner emerged after a full day and night, the Colosseum would return to the dimensional void on its own.
In other words, the Demon King Colosseum’s summoning time was only twenty-four hours.
If no winner was decided by then, everyone inside would be expelled.
Whether they’d recover and fight again or find another way to choose the next Demon King—that was a problem for later.
These Devils who wanted to support Naruse Mio but feared she might be a lost cause1 were the old guard from Wilbert’s era. To them, Aki was clearly planning to use this method.
Now that they’d witnessed Aki’s overwhelming power against Wilbert, they finally put aside their hesitation and threw their full support behind Naruse Mio.
With this new wave of reinforcements joining the fight, the Heroic Spirit army’s advance slowed and looked ready to retreat.
Unfortunately, among the top-tier fighters, this old guard had no one particularly strong. The Child of Chaos kept advancing steadily.
The Curia’s old immortals, hiding somewhere, eating and drinking while watching the live stream, looked grim.
They were afraid of death, not stupid.
If the Wilbert-era Devil old guard could think of it, naturally so could they.
Even the Outer Gods were struggling to advance now. If they had to wait for Aki and Leohart to emerge, this whole operation would be a complete failure.
They’d used up all their trump cards, pushed every other faction in Demon King Castle into opposition, and—worst of all—hadn’t even taken the castle…
”Some ‘King of Heroic Spirits’! Can’t even handle a bunch of Demon King-class enemies!”
One of the old immortals hurled his goblet onto the table in frustration. Red wine splashed from the rim, showing their anger and panic.
”Outer Gods are still Outer Gods. If they were native God-tier beings, they’d swat them away one by one.”
Outer Gods invading this world met natural resistance, their true power weakened.
Still, if not for its long seal and lack of intelligence, Demon King-class fighters couldn’t hold the Child of Chaos back.
A calmer old immortal said coldly: “Use the final measure. It’ll take more time to rebuild, but we can establish a new Demon King Castle.”
The room fell into sudden silence. None of them really wanted to use the final measure.
They’d planned this coup to secure control over Demon King Castle, keeping their grip on power.
”Hmph. If you don’t want to use it, then contact those people. We’ll just put a new Master over our heads.”
The one who spoke was the same old immortal who made the earlier suggestion. If this measure didn’t require unanimous consent from the entire Curia, he’d have used it alone long ago.
Though they were all cowards, their personalities weren’t identical. This one was the more explosive type—to put it bluntly, the one with no brain.
In normal times, the other old immortals would have looked down on him. But under these circumstances, he actually stirred whatever courage they had left.
”Then let’s do it…”
”Yeah. Let’s use it. The Underworld’s population is still large. We can grow quickly by allying with the Old Devil faction.”
Alliance and subjugation were two very different things.
They’d already been doing business with the Old Devil faction. But if they called them in this time, the Demon King’s throne would inevitably fall to the Old Devils.
”Fine.”
Once consensus was reached, the Curia’s old immortals each pulled out a bright red remote control from their robes.
This was the detonator for the explosives they’d planted throughout Demon King Castle over the years—a mix of tech and magic powerful enough to blast the entire castle sky-high.
Even a Demon King-class wouldn’t survive if they didn’t evacuate in time.
This device was originally built as a last resort to stop the Demon King Castle from falling to enemy forces in war.
But as the Demon King bloodline steadily declined, it became a tool to keep control of the castle.
Wilbert had vaguely heard rumors about this device, but the young Leohart knew nothing about it.
That was exactly why Wilbert never dared to openly defy them, ultimately dying without understanding the full picture—while Leohart defied them and acted on it.
”Everyone, press it together.”
Staring at the projection showing the Heroic Spirit army beginning to crumble, the old immortals steeled themselves and prepared to activate the device.
Just as they were about to press the red buttons—
A flash of purple light. Several ugly, withered heads rolled across the floor with a dull thud.
Blood sprayed and splattered across the floor and furniture, forming colorful patches. The severed heads rolling across the ground were horrific and sickening.
”Sephie, sis—aren’t you afraid these remotes might go off if they fall?”
Following the purple flash, a streak of gold-white light appeared. In the old immortals’ last moment of shock, every remote device was caught.
”Y-You… who are you…?”
”Oh? I have to say, your survival abilities really are something. Still not completely dead even after all that.”
The tall, curvy female Devil in sexy armor—bearing a threefold resemblance to Naruse Mio—glanced dismissively at the head still gasping on the floor.
Author’s Note:
Only have a black-and-white illustration for Sephie. If any pros know her specific skin and hair colors, feel free to let me know.
Liala’s outfit is literally cosplay bait. Got a screenshot of it, second one’s from Baidu (if you can’t see it, it got filtered).
I’ve got two even better ones, but they probably won’t pass moderation. I’ll post them tomorrow, so catch ’em while you can.

Summary:
Aki reveals his knowledge of bloodline integration while Leohart recovers composure and requests aid. The black cat seals Leohart’s power to create a fair sparring match with Naruse Mio, using the opportunity to train her against a Demon King-class opponent. Meanwhile, the Curia’s old immortals prepare to detonate a catastrophic explosive device planted throughout Demon King Castle, only to be intercepted by Sephie and Liala in a brutal ambush, leaving the fate of the castle’s power structure hanging in the balance.
—
Trivia:
Aki can destroy the Colosseum outright but is holding back to avoid exposing his true power to hidden observers.
The Colosseum automatically returns to a dimensional void after 24 hours if no winner is decided.
The explosive device was originally a last-resort measure to prevent enemy capture of Demon King Castle.
Wilbert knew about the device and never defied the Curia because of it; Leohart knew nothing and acted against them.
Sephie bears a threefold resemblance to Naruse Mio, suggesting a possible blood relation or connection.
Liala’s outfit is explicitly described as “cosplay bait” by the author.
The Old Devil faction would seize the Demon King throne if the Curia called them for aid.
The Curia’s “final measure” requires unanimous consent from all members to activate.
Outer Gods are weakened when invading this world due to natural resistance.
Aki’s Talent Copy Talent ability is suspected but unconfirmed, as those who Dual cultivate with him never lose their abilities.
