Chapter 433 First Encounter

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Sephie saw only the power in Aki’s attacks. Liala, however, recognized the effortless mastery behind them.

The violent, destructive force steadily eroded Child of Chaos’s life force, but a complete kill would still take some time. At God-tier, the physical body was no longer the essence of existence. Even those old relics from Curia could survive decapitation for a time. That was why Aki aimed for the forehead—to strike directly at Child of Chaos’s soul.

A god’s death throes were terrifying. Without someone to contain them, the Demon King Castle would have lost most of its occupants in moments. As Liala had judged, despite the huge difference in size and Aki’s lack of defensive specialization, the gap in raw power was unmistakable. The mana beams—strong enough to shatter the earth itself—were swatted aside with casual ease.

Child of Chaos’s final desperate flailing looked impressive, but it did little. Even as he deflected its counterattacks, Aki landed another punch, putting the creature out of its misery. He still had the White Dragon Emperor and the Old Devil Faction to deal with. No point wasting time. The message had been delivered.

Rias and the others were stunned. The being they’d thought of as a god of war was now nothing more than a plaything in Aki’s hands. They knew he’d become something extraordinary after reaching God-tier, but this was beyond anything they’d expected.

For Sephie and Liala, both God-tier themselves, the realization cut deeper.

”This kid’s only been cultivating for two years?” Sephie stared at the projection, watching Aki’s graceful figure press one finger to Child of Chaos’s forehead, extinguishing the last spark of its soul. “Even as the Red Dragon Emperor’s heir, that’s insane.”

Liala, her platinum-blonde hair cascading to her waist, a figure that could make statues weep, and an outfit that screamed shamelessly alluring, couldn’t help the sparkle in her eyes.

Her constitution was unique—few throughout history had possessed it. She’d never hit a bottleneck, all the way to God-tier, and even among her peers, she stood among the strongest. Yet despite that rare gift, she’d never once slacked in her cultivation. Even at a generous estimate, she’d spent nearly two decades cultivating to reach her current peak Lower God strength.

She’d always been the one Sephie envied. But now, watching Aki descend like a true god, showing the very aura of origin, she couldn’t help but feel outclassed.

”I think Shela and this kid were looking for us a while back,” Liala murmured thoughtfully, a smile playing at her lips. “Seems like it’s time we paid them a visit.”

Beside her, Sephie—dressed in a suit of battle armor, all Valkyrie warrior-poet energy—rolled her eyes. But she didn’t argue.

The two had completed their revenge against Curia and stabilized the Demon King Castle. Their original plan had been to stay hidden, waiting until they were strong enough to challenge the Ten Core Gods. They’d been curious why Aki and Shela were looking for them, but meeting hadn’t been on the table.

Now, seeing Aki’s power, especially his scary growth rate, they decided it was time.

Naruse Mio made them natural allies. And both women were God-tier. Even if Aki had ill intentions, they could always retreat. The fact that no major power in the Three Realms had found them in all these years spoke not just to their strength, but to their caution.

In just a few breaths, Child of Chaos let out a furious roar, its massive form finally collapsing backward. There was no earth-shaking crash. As it fell, its body began to disintegrate from the crown of its head, rapidly crumbling into pure mana particles that scattered across the heavens and earth.

It was at that moment Aki felt something—a pure stream of power flowing into his body from the world itself. His mana, which had been at peak Mid-God, instantly surged past its limits, breaking through the barrier. He’d officially become a High God. At the same time, understanding flooded his mind.

Child of Chaos was an Outer God. Killing it within the Three Realms meant helping the world expel an invader. The world’s will naturally rewarded such actions. It was somewhat like karmic merit, but entirely different in nature. This world’s will was pure, mechanical, like a machine. There were no drawbacks to this reward, and the mechanism only activated for Outer Gods who invaded the world. For native beings like Mio, no punishment or reward ever triggered, regardless of what they did.

It was precisely because of this mechanical purity that an existence like Aki—awakened with Past-life Wisdom—wasn’t targeted. Instead, his victory over an invading Outer God meant he was now officially recognized.

Killing Child of Chaos yielded another benefit: Aki became aware of a strange space where powerful beings gathered. Its name was the Infinite Battlefield.

It contained every resource a god could need for growth. Defeat or kill enemies from beyond the world, and the world would reward you, accelerating your progress. Any normal God-tier would rush there without hesitation.

But Aki wasn’t normal. He didn’t know much about the Infinite Battlefield’s secrets, but he could sum it up in one phrase: great opportunity comes with great risk. Combined with fragmented memories from his past life, he was certain he wouldn’t consider the Infinite Battlefield until he couldn’t advance another inch within the Three Realms.

Once he completed his third life transformation, reaching Evil God-tier—Saint-level—he’d think about it.

All these revelations took only moments.

With Child of Chaos dead, the Heroic Spirits—those flesh-and-blood battle colossi—lost their will to move. The Curia remnants and Old Devils were still reeling from the White Dragon Emperor’s defeat. Their greatest trump card, Child of Chaos, was completely destroyed.

They barely had time to process it before the Heroic Spirit army collapsed entirely, falling in droves. A cacophony of crashes echoed across the battlefield. The allied forces, snapping out of their awe-struck stupor, eagerly joined the rout.1

The dazed remnants of Curia and the Old Devils barely put up a fight. Between their leaders dead or defeated and the Heroic Spirit army crumbling around them, resistance was pointless. Even if Vali and the remaining Curia higher-ups had tried to organize a defense, it would have been useless.

Aki’s overwhelming power had already killed this war.

Still in Balance Breaker mode, clad in the White Dragon Armor, Vali didn’t spare a glance for the Old Devils crying for salvation. He took one long look at Aki, who was completely ignoring him, and teleported away.

Aki didn’t stop him. He hoped his destined rival would show up next time with exactly the girls he wanted, delivered right to his doorstep. That would make this whole display of power and intentional escape worth it.

With Vali gone, no one remained who could threaten Rias and the others. Aki teleported away as well. The negotiations with Leohart, the wrangling over war spoils—he’d leave all that to Rias. He had no interest in such matters, and certainly no head for their complexities.2

Compared to post-war politics, he was far more curious about those two fleeting presences he’d sensed earlier. His instincts told him they were two women, incredibly strong, probably God-tier. And very likely, they were Sephie and Liala. God-tier figures were rare enough, and those matching these criteria were even rarer.

But until he confirmed it in person, he couldn’t be certain.

The search went more smoothly than anticipated. After Aki’s display of power, Sephie and Liala—who’d already been considering meeting him—hadn’t bothered hiding their aura. And with the war over, the Curia elders needed to be eliminated entirely, root and branch.3 The two factors aligned.

In less than the time to drink a cup of tea, Aki found himself in a corpse-strewn chamber, standing before two striking women with refined features and stunning figures.

A flash of genuine awe crossed Aki’s eyes, followed by delighted surprise—a sense of recognition he couldn’t explain. Liala and Sephie, for their part, met his gaze with admiration and more than a little confusion.

”Lord Red Dragon Emperor,” Liala spoke first. “Have we met before?”

Her platinum-blonde hair cascaded softly down her back. Her figure was barely contained by two strips of cloth, her Charm Talent on full display. She regarded Aki with obvious interest.

Aki returned her gaze without shame, taking in every detail of her revealing outfit, making a silent resolve that no other man would ever see her dressed like this.

”No,” Aki admitted. “But I’ve longed to meet you both.”

He continued, “The full story is complicated. But since you’re both willing to talk, perhaps we could continue somewhere more suitable.”4

To claim them—frankly, to win over these two goddesses—Aki needed more time. Even if he could explain everything here, he’d find a reason to delay. Besides, this place was hardly fit for conversation, and they were still missing a key player.

Sephie and Liala hesitated. They’d hidden for years, seen no one, and for good reason. If not for Aki’s strength and potential, they wouldn’t have revealed themselves even now.

Aki noticed their reluctance. He didn’t fully understand why, but that didn’t stop him from pressing.

”Sephie…” He paused, deliberately ignoring the already-confused familial lines, calling her with a shameless grin. “Sephie-sis. Shela wants to see you too. And Mio. And Basara.”

Ever since Aki appeared, Sephie had been quiet. But at that name, her composure cracked.

Shela and Naruse Mio were one thing. But Basara Toujou’s name hit her where it hurt, striking the most sensitive part of her heart.

She felt nothing but resentment toward the Ancient Dragon and Jin Toujou. But toward Basara Toujou, who carried her own bloodline… her feelings were far more complicated. How could she be a virgin, yet somehow have a child—one conceived with two of her enemies?

The battle-hardened Valkyrie, with her vivid red hair—a face so like Naruse Mio’s—finally spoke, her voice resigned. “Fine. Let’s go to the Human World.”

Liala shot her companion a curious glance, silently filing away the names Aki had mentioned. She knew Sephie carried something heavy, but after all these years, she’d never been able to pry it out of her. All she knew was that it involved the Ten Core Gods and Curia. And Liala’s own enemies were the same two parties. By some twist of fate, Sephie had saved her, and they’d supported each other ever since.

Now Curia was gone. The last thread binding Sephie to the Demon King Castle had been cut. Their plan had been to stay hidden, slowly scheming against the Ten Core Gods. But then Aki had appeared—an unexpected variable, one that clearly carried deeper implications.

 —

 Summary:

Aki defeats Child of Chaos and ascends to High God while Sephie and Liala watch from afar, reconsidering their decision to remain hidden. The two goddesses agree to meet Aki, who intentionally lets Vali escape to set up future encounters. Aki’s meeting with Sephie and Liala reveals deep emotional complexity, particularly around Basara Toujou’s name, and sets the stage for new alliances.

 —

 Trivia:

Aki became a High God immediately after killing Child of Chaos due to the world’s will rewarding him for defeating an Outer God invader.

The world’s will in this universe is purely mechanical—like a machine—and offers no rewards or punishments for native beings regardless of their actions.

Aki deliberately let Vali escape because he wants Vali to bring the women he’s interested in to him in the future.

Sephie is technically a virgin yet has a child—Basara Toujou—conceived with two of her enemies through unknown circumstances.

Liala has a unique constitution that has never encountered a cultivation bottleneck, yet Aki’s two years of cultivation surpass her nearly two decades of effort.

Sephie’s red hair matches Naruse Mio and Wilbert’s hair color because they are siblings.

The Infinite Battlefield contains all resources needed for godly growth but Aki refuses to go there until he reaches Evil God-tier/Saint-level.

Sephie and Liala had been hiding from all major powers in the Three Realms for years before agreeing to meet Aki.

Aki called Sephie “Sephie-sis” despite the confusing familial lines, deliberately being forward and shameless.

The Heroic Spirits lost all will to move the moment Child of Chaos died, collapsing in droves across the battlefield.
