In the center of the spacious room, a lavish magic circle spun atop the deep blue wool carpet. The three of them materialized within it, and before the circle even faded, Naruse Mio and the others appeared right behind them. Once Naruse Mio knew about Sephie, Shela and Lucia naturally found out too. Without giving anyone time to think, Shela had dragged them along and rushed back as fast as she could.
”Sephie-chan, long time no see.”
The moment she landed, the loli succubus housewife cheerfully sidled up to Sephie. But when she tried to get closer for a hug, Sephie pushed her away with a look of disgust.
”You’re filthy. Stay away from me.”
In their haste, Shela and Lucia hadn’t had time to clean up after the battle. Not only were their sleek black leather outfits covered in dust, their beautiful faces and pale skin were dirty too. Aki thought the grime gave them a certain battlefield charm—but that meant nothing to Sephie, a fellow beauty and a battle-hardened valkyrie herself.
”Ugh!”
Shela had grown a lot stronger, but she was still no match for Sephie. All she could do was glare angrily before shifting her attention to Liala, who looked even more like a succubus than she did, practically radiating seduction.
”My, my. So this is your lover?”
Knowing full well that Liala was practically Sephie’s adopted daughter, the loli succubus housewife deliberately added, “No wonder you’ve been single all these years. Turns out you’re into this sort of thing~”

”Shut up!”
Sephie smacked Liala on the head, her usually calm expression cracking. “I wasn’t God-tier back then. Even if I’d killed myself, that Ancient Dragon would have taken my bloodline anyway, so I…”
In truth, everyone present except Liala already knew Basara Toujou’s story. Sephie trailed off, realizing there was no need to over-explain. As for Liala’s teasing—did she really not understand? Of course she did. She was just messing with Sephie on purpose.
Seeing that her sister-figure truly cared about this matter, Liala stopped her antics.
A valkyrie was a valkyrie. If she’d never had to face anyone she knew, maybe she could have kept running. But now that she’d actually taken this step, she was decisive.
Sephie looked at Aki, her expression serious. “I want to see Basara.”
The light, cheerful atmosphere turned tense. If it were just Basara Toujou, it might not be so bad—but odds were Jin Toujou would come too. If Sephie met Jin Toujou, things would probably get ugly.
”Basara left for special training a few days ago. I can’t reach him right now.”
Aki spread his hands, half-truthful and half-lying. “Anyway, you don’t have any urgent business. If you don’t mind, you can stay here for now. Basara’s place is right next door. You’ll know the moment he’s back.”
Basara Toujou really had gone out for special training. The part about being unreachable was a lie.
”…Fine.” Sephie thought it over. Now that she’d started reaching out to people from her past, there was no point in deliberately hiding from the world anymore. That approach might keep her safe and completely hidden in the shadows, but it also meant losing opportunities. After all, they were only two people, not some vast underground organization.
On top of that, technology in the Human World had advanced rapidly over the past decade. Sephie was surprised to find she couldn’t figure out how some things worked anymore. And Liala was too restless by nature—if not for Sephie, she’d have gotten bored long ago. The chance to settle in the Human World, even if she didn’t say it, made her genuinely happy.
The delay tactic had worked. Just as Aki was feeling pleased with himself, Sephie added, “But we won’t be staying here. I’m not ready to deal with other factions yet.”
She glanced at Liala.
Dressed provocatively as always, Liala pulled a notebook from her cleavage and handed it to Aki with a teasing smile. “This has a communication magic circle I came up with. You can use it to reach us anytime.”
Aki flipped it open and found a magic circle he’d never seen before. He ran a quick mental simulation and got a rough idea of what it did. The principle was similar to a two-way radio, but with better encryption and longer range.
”Big sister here invented this magic herself. It might be a little tricky—want me to teach you~?”
Liala had somehow drifted right up next to Aki, her curvaceous body nearly pressed against his.
Having overcome his heart demon, Aki had long since learned to follow his desires. When faced with an opportunity like this, he chose to take it.

As he spoke, Aki wrapped an arm around the golden-haired beauty’s slender waist without hesitation, his hot breath falling directly on her face.

”You made this mess. Clean it up yourself.” Sephie couldn’t be bothered. She’d seen more of the world than Liala had. One look told her the girl’s heart was already stirred. If Liala had truly wanted to resist, would Aki have used force to suppress her?
Devils really had open attitudes about these things. Sephie and Liala had read up on Aki’s situation. They knew about his Dual Cultivation Ability and his relationships with other girls. As far as Sephie was concerned, none of that mattered. As long as Liala was willing, a quick fling was no big deal. And if the rumors were true, Liala might even use the chance to break through to Mid-God.
Everyone in the room was sharp enough to notice the charged atmosphere between Liala and Aki. After giving Liala an amused look—she was practically giving herself away—they tactfully filed out of the room.
