Volume 6 Chapter 16-2 Villainess Volunteer
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Her thighs were shaped real nice, kinda like octopus legs, moving around and striking sexy poses. I’ve never seen it myself, but maybe this is what a scorpion’s mating dance looks like. It was definitely erotic. But normally, no matter how wild a girl is, she wouldn’t go this far. Why even try to act like a “villainness” in the first place?
”She looks up to the heroine in those novels.”
Ah, it must be that “Assassin Executioner” series that’s popular in the royal capital right now. The main character is a kunoichi—the sexy ninja girl type from old Japanese dramas—but reimagined for this world. The plot’s the same every time. It’s an exciting, sexy story where the main girl uses her body to punish bad guys who can’t be touched by law.
Seems like that kind of setup really hits the sweet spot here, and it’s selling like crazy. Even Shea-Shea, who complains about it, bought every volume. Might not be the best for young girls’ brains, but since she’s of age and already engaged, nobody cares. Miss Floria reads it too, and she really loves how sexy the heroine is.
That heroine does shady stuff, yeah, but she’s still on the side of justice. You can’t really call her a villainness. More like a dark hero, maybe? Also, I don’t think the author knows what real Assassins do. Like, since when does an Assassin kill with harp strings?
Falling head over heels for a novel heroine and going nuts over it… yeah, that’s next-level chuunibyou.
”If you change yourself over a dumb fantasy, you’ll regret it forever.”
Even when Mubiel warns her, she doesn’t care. She’s acting like a bratty kid.
”I wanna be a villainness!”
Tons of lady parts sprout from her body and then flop down. Each part looks kinda cool on its own, but all mashed together, it’s just creepy.
”I can’t let her go wild. Maybe you can blend her into something decent.”
Mubiel turns to me. If I let her evolve into an Assassin, we could stop this, but I don’t want to. Assassins have it rough, and I guess I’m worried like a parent. Mubiel’s got it tough too.
Like when Jiro-nii suddenly said he wanted to be an idol. Mom bawled and tried to stop him. Even I thought he had zero talent, and paying 600,000 yen for idol school? Scam. But when people chase dreams, they stop listening.
Mubiel could try to talk her down, but even if I say “don’t be an Assassin,” she won’t listen. Maybe I should just ask what she likes so much about Assassin Executioner.
”I’ll keep you safe. Don’t worry.”
Mubiel smiled bright and shoved me into the mess of flailing tentacles. I’m done for. Even if I trust my wife, being the prey is still scary as hell.
”I-I’m okay… I’ll stop the bad guys… good people… won’t get hurt…”
Black tentacles shaped like girl arms cover me. At the same time, Mubiel hugs me from behind, blocks the tentacles, and melts into me. Now it feels like we’re in some weird 3P scene.
The spirit’s heart wants to suck me in. Spirits can connect minds easily, so now we’re super tangled. If our hearts mix too much, I might not be able to break free later. This is bad. But I’ll let Mubiel handle that—she’s the Advanced one here.
First, I gotta calm the crazy spirit. I ask her to tell me more about Assassin Executioner. I heard stuff from Shea-Shea and get the gist, but I just learned how to read, and 13 volumes is too much. I need more words to enjoy reading.
Maybe because I like the topic, I get into it fast. Volume 14 just dropped. The story’s told with spirit images, not written words, so the costumes and settings get weird sometimes. Even I noticed some obvious dumb stuff. But yeah, it’s still a good series.
The original’s a well-known period drama TV show, but it’s mixed with other shows too. Since copyright doesn’t exist here, they can do whatever.
A lot got lost when they adapted it to this world. Like, instead of a bad guy pulling a girl’s obi and spinning her around, it’s a buff baron swinging an elf girl by the hips like some comedy move—and then assaulting her. They tried to make it funny, but it lost the creepy humor part. They should’ve kept the old Japanese vibe instead of forcing local flavor.
Now, I made my own fake Japanese-style version of True Assassin Executioner. It’s still period drama-ish, but I don’t care about accuracy. Ramen stalls, samurai eating parfaits—it’s all good. One book fits into an hour episode, more or less. I changed the story a bit, but I think it’s way more fun now. Spirits don’t seem to mind it’s a remake of a remake.
When I showed the finished version, they watched it over and over, eyes sparkling. Mubiel liked it too. Guess it’s their first TV experience. Big culture shock.
Even if it’s bottom-barrel fanfiction, I’m kinda proud that my version got such love. While I was feeling happy, feedback started pouring in. Spirits share thoughts, so it hit all at once. Frapatica’s popular, other wives not so much. Even Uno sent her review.
The more fans I got, the more pumped I felt. So I made Volumes 2 and 3 into a 2-hour special. I dropped the assassin bit and made the heroine a ninja of justice instead. It makes more sense in a fake Edo town setting.
I was worried if the sword fights would click with spirits, but no problem at all. Ninja movies are cool worldwide. Volume 4 has more action. I kept the fanservice to what’s barely allowed on golden-time TV. That peeky tension is hotter anyway.
For Volume 5, I tried adding mosaic censoring, but everyone hated it. Never again. Volume 6 has a classic bath scene, gag-style. I made the heroine more mysterious—she doesn’t use her sexiness cheap, and she traps men with a wink. Also dropped hints she’s got a heavy past.
In Volume 7, I added a minor thief character, the third Ishikawa Goemon. Somehow he got super popular, so I gave him more screentime. The story’s strayed far from the original, but everyone’s into it, so no big deal.
By the time I finished Volume 14 in my head, viewer numbers were insane. Even new spirits begged me to keep going. But the official series just hit Volume 14 too, so we’ll be waiting a while for the next part.
So I made a side story: The Third Ishikawa Goemon and Kakio Domain Castle. A thief saves a princess and uncovers corruption. It reused characters, but this time I based it on a famous anime movie. In the end, the stolen treasure is the princess’s love. It got even more hype, but this is my limit.
Truth is, I realized I’m not that talented. Copying is easy, but I could never make something that fun from scratch. Even in a world with no copyright, stealing someone’s work without asking feels wrong. The people who make real stuff deserve better. And anyway, the goal was reached.
The spirits got to see that there are more cool stories than just Assassin Executioner. Their madness faded like a curse breaking, and they finally started listening to Mubiel. I guess I’m done here.
”Um… now she wants to be a ninja.”
She’s just that kind of girl—easily swayed by stories. But there’s no ninja race in this world.
”Please lend me your power to make a new race.”
Before I could reply, the three of us link up again. We’re doing something crazy, but Mubiel is handling most of it. I just toss out vague images to help.
”The many-faced ninja… her name is Yakou.”
When I say that, all the tentacles bunch up and form into a full human body. This is the power of creation, huh. She’s an East Asian beauty, just like how I pictured the heroine from Assassin Executioner. I guess I idealized that TV actress a bit much.
The main girl from the original series is Gekkou, but I changed her name since Gekkou and Yakou sound too different. “Hyakumen” sounds cool, even if it means nothing—maybe it hints she’s a disguise master. I probably just wanted her to look like a thief.
”This kunoichi, Yakou, swears loyalty to Lord Shogun.”
She says that in a soft voice and presses her perfect body against me. She already knows how to please men. And who the heck is this Lord Shogun?
”A kunoichi needs a Lord Shogun. She fights evil in his name.”
So she still wants to fight bad guys. But in real life, minor criminals can be handled by the law. Big-time villains? They’re too much for us.
In her world, bad guys show up every week just to be beaten. Is she expecting me to point out who to kill?
”Not sure how useful I’ll be… but I want to help. Please use me.”
Mubiel grins at Yakous’s. She’s telling me to take care of her now. Yeah, alright.
”She’s got good stats, but being a ninja isn’t that easy.”
”I understand.”
”Then prove yourself. Follow me without getting caught. If you can do that, I’ll think about it.”
I try to sound like a boss. But really, I’m just acting cool. How do people actually sound cool, anyway?
Then Yakou vanishes. Wait—my Searching skill lost her? That’s not normal! This ain’t just Stealth skill. It’s her kunoichi race skill. Actually, calling her a “kunoichi” race is kinda wild. Normally, kunoichi are just human jobs for girls.
But you know what? This is starting to get fun. If she can trick Uno and Mistrena’s eyes with this illusion, I’ll admit this girl’s the real deal. Let’s see what happens next.
