Chapter 679 An Item That Captivates The Heart

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 (Kazumi’s POV)

”Welcome! Oh my, look who it is—Kazumi and Rena!”

As soon as we stepped into the Zett Merchant Guild, Mr. Waleerry—jumped out from behind the counter with a loud voice, like an actor greeting a crowd. Lately, he’s been acting more dramatic. Maybe it’s because we’ve gotten closer since the ‘Grand Market.’ He really is a fun person.

The two female clerks also rushed toward us, moving lightly like they were dancing. They gently took the packages we were carrying.

”The head of the merchant guild, Sasha, is at the lord’s house for an urgent reason…”

”We’re not here for business today.”

”Yeah, just shopping,” Rena said cheerfully.

We both waved at Mr. Waleerry, who looked sorry. Her voice was light and full of energy. I smiled just hearing it.

”Oh, I see!” Mr. Waleerry’s eyes sparkled. He stood up straight, like a new scene in a play was starting.

”With both of you here, I thought this might be a big meeting for a new project! Ha ha!”

”Well, we don’t get ideas that easily,” Rena said, pouting a little and tilting her head.

”But…” I looked up at him, eyebrows slightly knit.

”An urgent matter at the lord’s house… Is something wrong?”

The word “urgent” stuck in my mind. Ms. Sasha usually handles things calmly. So something must be off. Mr. Waleerry narrowed his eyes like he was about to share a secret, and spoke softly.

”No no, it’s that thing. About the new medicine from Rahman Pharmacy. A fast message just came from the head, Genta Rahman.”

Ah, right. That man reminded me of the company president in my past life. I remember he said he’d go back to the Royal Capital to prepare. I clapped my hands and looked at Rena. She looked back at me and nodded.

Mr. Waleerry’s story came to life like a tale from a book. His hand gestures and movements were so big, it felt like he was copying Mr. Rahman himself. I used to think of Mr. Waleerry as calm and polite. But lately, he seems like he wants to make us laugh. Or maybe… this is the real him.

”So, he’s bringing top researchers and heading to Raetia in just a few days! They want to start checking the hot spring water ingredients right away!”

”Wow, Mr. Rahman sounds really serious about this.”

”The Raetia branch building is almost done, but the lab isn’t ready yet. I didn’t think they’d move this fast. That’s why the head of the guild, Sasha, went to speak with the lord about getting land.”

He made a big, worried face.

”Mr. Rahman is moving fast, huh!”

Rena clapped her hands and opened her eyes wide.

”Well, it’s a huge deal for their company. If they need a big space… maybe near the south district?”

I crossed my arms and thought for a moment. Rena nodded hard. The east side of the south district still isn’t developed. Past our clan house to the south are ranches, and to the east is empty land.

”They probably won’t begin full research right away, so it should be okay!”

Mr. Waleerry smiled and stood proud. His confidence made Rena and me smile back. Okay—now for the real reason we came!

”You’re doing a magic training camp in the Great Labyrinth’s ‘Closed World’!? Oh, that’s very exciting!”

Mr. Waleerry’s voice jumped a level. And he really did sound curious—not just being nice.

”That’s why I want a new bag! Something really strong for exploring the maze!”

I held up my fist and spoke with energy.

”Ah, so you’re looking for something practical,” Mr. Waleerry said, putting a hand to his chin. He looked around the shop, eyes sharp like a treasure hunter.

The store was full of daily items and gear for travelers. Weapons and armor found deep in the Welnia and Raetia labyrinths sparkled all around us.

”Rena, I just bought some new clothes. Now I want a cute bag too!”

”But if it’s for the labyrinth… shouldn’t it be strong and useful?”
