I could not leave those rumors alone, so I set about clearing things up by demonstrating the material’s unusual properties. A few waterproofing tests and impact-absorption trials later, the mood in the room had changed considerably. If I wanted to petition Her Majesty for import permits, I needed solid data to back me up anyway.
As expected of fellow technical minds, they grasped the possibilities almost immediately. Once they saw the Dropper presented to the Magic Medicine Department and the rubber tires demonstrated for Magic Weaponry, most of them were convinced. As for everything else, I was sure the engineers would find their own applications soon enough.
Personally, those projects were only side work. What I really wanted to test was the completed Chiku-Kuri-Chuu-Chuu.1 For that experiment, my willing test subject was Nada-san, my guest from the Southern Continent.
”I have to ask,” Nada-san said, her brow creased with concern, “are you really okay with all of this?”
”I’m fine,” I replied with a shrug. “Give a technician something interesting to study, and they usually settle down.”
We were in the private quarters assigned to Nada-san inside the palace. The first few experiments had taken place at the Ddo-Buddy Palace, but I did not want to keep dragging everyone back and forth. General Mamache, in particular, always ended up standing outside waiting.
Her Majesty had once scolded me by asking, “Do you mistake the royal palace for some kind of love hotel?” When I replied, “Is that really something Your Majesty should be saying?” she granted permission in complete silence.
”That wasn’t what I meant…” Nada-san paused before slowly shaking her head. “No, perhaps it was. Lord Harvest, you hold far more influence in this palace than I realized.”
”Not at all,” I said with a harmless smile. “I’m just a simple Magic Circuits guy.”
”I do not think a ‘simple’ Magic Circuits guy gives orders to Court Mages or advises the sovereign directly,” she replied, studying me closely.
When I slipped an arm around her waist, she immediately leaned closer. Her hand settled on my thigh as she pressed herself against me, responding with a familiarity that had become second nature.
”Even if that were true,” I murmured, “would it put you at a disadvantage, Nada-san?”
”No, quite the opposite,” she answered softly. “In fact, I am fortunate. Who would have imagined the man I chose would turn out to be so important?”
”I told you,” I said with a laugh. “I’m just a complete pervert.”
”Hehe, very well.” A playful light appeared in her eyes. “Let us say that is true. So what does this pervert intend to do?”
Nada-san had become remarkably articulate during her time with me. She had even learned how to string together words designed to tempt a man, and whenever she teased me like that, I found myself taking the bait.
”Why, the most perverted things imaginable, of course.”
”I see…” she replied with a faint smile. “That is quite a dilemma…♡”
The conversation soon gave way to the experiment itself.
”Alright,” I said at last, reaching for the device. “Let’s begin the experiment.”
Her gaze followed the tool immediately.
”You can probably guess what this is for. I’m going to attach it for testing. The sensation may become stronger than usual, but I have medicine ready if anything goes wrong.”
”That ship sailed long ago,” she replied with a rueful smile. “You have already trained me to react exactly the way you want, have you not?♡”
”Well, perhaps there is some truth to that…”
After making the necessary preparations, I picked up the completed device.
”Here I go. Tell me if it hurts.”
”I understand. Nn…♡ Hya…♡!?”
The moment I activated the suction, surprise flashed across her face.
”Are you alright?” I asked.
”Y-yes. It doesn’t hurt. It just feels… strangely sensitive.”
”Doesn’t it feel good?”

The additional stimulation made her arch her back.

Still nervous, Nadarume reluctantly showed me. Everything appeared perfectly normal.
”See? It’s fine.”
”…Good. Although… does it look a little bigger?”
”That is probably your imagination. If anything, it’s just swollen.”
”…Does that mean it would get bigger if we repeated this?”
”That is one of the things we’re testing. Like I said, I have medicine prepared.”
”…You really are a Three-paday.”
”Flattery won’t get you anywhere.”
”That was not a compliment,” she replied. “And something is definitely happening, isn’t it?”
She had even started slipping dirty talk into ordinary conversation. Unfortunately for her, Nadarume still had no idea just how long and exhausting this particular experiment was going to be.
