Chapter 284-4 Towards A Future Full Of Hope

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

”I’m trembling with joy at Neil-sama’s words,” she said, her voice quiet. “But… I don’t think I should say what I really want. Someone in my position shouldn’t.”

She remembered our places. Even here, even now, she still saw me as someone above her.

”Diana, do you remember what I told you? That time when you told me how you really felt?”

”Yes. “You said, ‘We should build a relationship that fits us.’”

”Right. So, tell me… what you just said now—do you think that fits us?”

 She blinked.

”No,” I said, before she could answer. “Those weren’t your real words. That sounded like a servant talking to her master. I want to hear your words, Diana.”

 ”My words…”

Her lips moved, but no sound came out. Then she looked away again. Her hands were cold, and I hated seeing her struggle like this, so I held them. Gently. Softly.

She opened her eyes wide, surprised. After a second, her fingers held mine back, and slowly, like she had made up her mind, she finally spoke.

”I… I also want to have Neil-sama’s child.”

 Wait—child? My face twitched.

”Isn’t that a weird way to say it? You said it like it’s only my child.”

She paused, then smiled. “That’s true.”

Her cheeks turned red. But even while she blushed, her smile felt real. I smiled back.

Then, like always, just when I thought I had a special moment, two heads popped out from behind her.

”We’re the ones who pushed you two, remember?” Mei said with a smug look.

”Did you forget about us while entering your own little world?” Lewya added, crossing her arms.

”No! I haven’t forgotten!” I let go of Diana’s hand and waved my arms. “I swear!”

 They didn’t look convinced.

”Neil’s really bad at this kind of thing,” Mei muttered.

 ”Huh?” I frowned.

”It’s true,” Lewya said. “Even if you want to treat everyone the same, your heart gets pulled by whoever’s closest.”

”Ugh…” I groaned. They were right. Again.

”In fact, unless someone drags it out of you, you never say anything about love,” Diana said calmly.

”Ugh!!” I groaned louder. Et tu, Diana?

I had no allies. The three of them stood there, smiling like it was obvious. I gave up and groaned again. There was no point in denying it.

Then the three of them looked at each other… and laughed. They walked toward me, their smiles warmer now.

”It’s okay,” Mei said, her voice softer. “We know Neil’s not good at this. But we like you anyway.”

”If you were perfect with words like some kind of playboy, we might not have fallen for you,” Lewya added.

”So please, Neil-sama, just stay the way you are,” Diana said. “We’ll take care of the rest.”

Ah. That meant they’d be the ones reaching out to me. I just had to be ready for that.

 ”P-please be gentle with me…”

Mei tilted her head. “Hmm, that depends on you.”

”If we try to be close and you just smile and nod like always, we’ll feel bad,” Lewya said.

”Don’t worry,” Diana added. “I’ll teach you better than ever, so that won’t happen.”

”Wait—are you just saying that so you can take more chances for yourself!?” Mei jumped in.

”That’s not fair!” Lewya cried. “It has to be equal!”

”I’m only doing my duty as a servant,” Diana said with a straight face. “I don’t have any other plans.”

”Then to make it fair, we need more chances too,” Mei said.

”Let’s adjust things so Neil-sama doesn’t fall behind on work,” Lewya said calmly.

”If we don’t have time,” Mei added, “he can just use that other space, right? The one where time stops?”

”That’s true,” Lewya said, her eyes shining. “Then we can all spend time with him there.”

”That way,” Diana said, “no one needs to worry about time.”

”Ah… ahaha…” I laughed weakly. I was clearly not in control anymore.

 They ignored me.

 ”In that case—”

”No, let’s do it like this—”

”Wait, wait, what if we try that way—?”

They huddled together, whispering and laughing. Watching them, I suddenly felt lighter.

All the worries I had about the future, even Lewya’s fears… they faded.

Even if the world ended someday, even if we had to face pain again, this moment right here—this soft, peaceful feeling—would be enough to carry us forward.

We would live. With hope. With joy. Together.
