About 6 months have passed since the battle at the royal castle. Princess Asuka, as the new queen, gave her first New Year’s speech, sharing her vision for the future.
The beautiful and smart queen filled the nobles and citizens with great hope.
The first prince, Yōmo, realized he wasn’t fit to be king and willingly gave the throne to Asuka, bowing as a loyal subject.
Former King Aaron was arrested and is now waiting for his trial.
Duke Asunabal, without mobilizing any troops, chose to flee to the empire with his family, so all his lands were given to Yōmo.
As for me, I’m still living in an lodging downtown with Ms. Akari and Karin. Sir Mihail’s mansion has reopened, my job is back on track, and Ms. Akari’s part-time work on her dictionary is going well.
And now, Ms. Claudel, the assistant to the new Prime Minister Rainsheyn, is in front of me.
”A human enclave, huh?”
”Yep, darling. Someone out there said, ‘I don’t need land or titles. Please, let’s work on improving the status of humans in this world…’ So, the princess… the queen is troubled by this… and this is the conclusion she reached.”
According to Ms. Claudel, they plan to gather humans who are currently being treated poorly as slaves in the royal territory near Mr. Tethyrkan’s lands. They want to create a human enclave, providing job and learning opportunities, and eventually gather the knowledge and skills of the humans who have ended up here.
”Even though it’s a royal territory, it’s mostly wasteland with just a few small dwarf villages.”
Ms. Claudel paused for a moment to gather her thoughts.
”But it’s a good spot to get support from Baron Tethyrkan, and the dwarves are perfect for passing on their skills. Plus, since no one has developed the wasteland, it would be good for the humans to clear it themselves.”
Then, she continued in the same tone.
”Oh, and… this is still a secret, but… that land is planned to become the territory of Sir Aaron once he has paid for his sins.”
Ms. Claudel said quietly at the end.
”Wow. That’s amazing, or rather… thank you. With this, the people who ended up here can live while looking a bit more towards the future. And by the way, Aaron, the former king, huh… well, in a way, he might be suitable.”
”Yeah, that’s true. He has to take responsibility for the seeds he planted himself… Also, the queen has restarted the research on the gate with Sistemador. One day, when we can freely go back and forth between Darling’s world and ours, it’s the princess, no, the queen’s wish to have a friendly diplomatic relationship, and the special zone is a step towards that.”

Puruun joked while laughing.

It feels gross, and she might throw up… Tomori thought.
Then, Ellulu fell from behind and landed on top of Tomori.
”Hey! Ellulu. You’re heavy, heavy!”
Tomori said while getting up and looking around.
Ah… no doubt about it. This is her backyard! She made it back!
”Hai, iz it okay heah?”
Ellulu asked in broken Japanese.
”Yeah. Here. My house.”
The back door is locked, so I can’t get in. The bathroom window should be broken by Yuuta, but it’s fixed and locked. I tried the front door, but it’s locked too.
(Hmm… the key should be under this flower pot…)
I thought and tilted the flower pot, but the key wasn’t there.
”Ah, what should I do? Should I break a window…”
Just then, I heard a voice from behind.
”TomTom? Is that you, TomTom?”
When I turned around, Yuuta’s mom was standing on the street.
”Ah… Auntie… long time no see.”
”Long time no see? Where have you been! And… where are Yuuta and Ms. Akari? Aren’t they with you? And who is this… foreigner?”
”Auntie, calm down! First, let me say, Yuuta and my mom are safe, but they’re not here. They’re doing fine. And this is Ellulu, a friend from another world.”
”Another world? So you guys went to Ms. Ellulu’s country?”
Ellulu has almost white-blonde hair and bluish-gray eyes.
It’s not surprising if people think she’s a foreigner.
”Yeah, something like that. But it’s a bit hard to talk about here…”
”Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize… Anyway, come to my house. I’ll call the dad right away.”
About an hour later, Yuuta’s dad rushed home early from work.
”Hello. I’m Ellulu. Nice to meet you.”
Ellulu greeted.
Uncle seemed surprised by Ellulu’s appearance, but he looked calm, as expected from the head of the family.
”So, TomTom. Where exactly… since that earthquake day, the two from the Sakura family and our Yuuta have disappeared… the bathroom window was broken, and there was a big fuss that they got caught up in a crime. Some even said it was a kidnapping from N country. So, Yuuta and Ms. Akari are safe, right?”
Tomori answered the uncle’s question.
”Yes, uncle. The two are living safely in this country of Ellulu. And they even have a child together!”
”What? Yuuta and TomTom’s child! Oh my… my first grandchild!”
Yuuta’s mother jumped up with joy.
”Ah, no… it’s not my child with Yuuta… it’s Yuuta and my mother’s child.”
”Huh?”
The two were left speechless.
Then Tomori slowly began to explain to Yuuta’s parents about the events that happened to the 3 of them.

After hearing the story, Yuuta’s parents were stunned for a while, but then the uncle spoke up.
”It’s hard to believe in another world, but… looking at Ms. Ellulu’s ears, I can’t help but believe it. Sorry, but can I touch them for a moment?”
Uncle said as he gently touched Ellulu’s ears.
”Ah, that’s ticklish!”
Ellulu squirmed a bit.
”Hey, you. What are you doing to a young lady… sorry, EllEll.”
”Oh, I’m sorry. I’m sorry. But if I announce this, no one will believe it and I’ll be treated like a madman. If I bring Ms. Ellulu out as proof, she might get kidnapped by the CIA or KGB and end up being dissected.”
”Uncle, the KGB doesn’t exist anymore… but that’s true. I think there’s a high chance of being caught by such powers. So, for a while, could you hide me and Ellulu secretly?”
Tomori pleaded with Yuuta’s father.
”Ah, that’s right. Ms. Sakura’s house is secured by the police for evidence, so we can’t just go in. But it’s fine for the two of you to stay here together. TomTom is family after all. I’m also looking for someone I can trust to talk about this later.”
”Thanks, Uncle.”
Tomori and Ellulu can still see the gate clearly, but it seems people from this world can’t see it. Sistemador said, ‘You can only see it if you believe it’s there; there’s a barrier that blocks recognition,’ so it must be working well.
”Still, I can’t believe Yuuta and Ms. Akari ended up together… I get that they struggled together, but… I feel bad for TomTom.”
Uncle said apologetically.
”That’s okay. I’ve made my decision. I dumped that pervy guy who even got a third wife and sent him packing to my mom!”
Ellulu must have heard the word “third wife.” She shouted,
”I’m the third wife!”

After that, Tomori and Ellulu were shown to Yuuta’s room.
It seems Yuuta’s things were left as they were until they got news, but they can use this room for now since it will be cleaned up tomorrow.
Feeling a bit relieved, Tomori and Ellulu exchanged glances.
”Yuuta. Dad. Mom?”
”Yes. Yuuta’s parents. They’re your in-laws too.”
After giving Ellulu a bath and relaxing, Tomori started sorting through the things Yuuta had left behind.
(I guess I have to leave this knife and military money to Uncle. …What? He was carrying around this small change too…)
And this is his smartphone. If there are any pictures of Karin, she’d like to show them to Uncle and the others. Thinking that, Tomori rummaged through Yuuta’s desk drawer.
The charger is always here… found it!
Ellulu looked on with interest.
When she turned it on, it went to the password screen.
”This guy’s password is… my birthday! Bingo!”
Then she peeked into the photo folder.
…Ah, this is from the kendo tournament… What’s with all her photos!
Tomori felt a bit mixed up, but then Ellulu shouted.
”Ah! This one!”
Huh? Oh, this is… but it seems like this is the last photo.
Tomori and Ellulu took Yuuta’s smartphone and went downstairs.
”Uncle. Aunt. There are photos from that world on Yuuta’s phone. Want to see?”
”Oh, yes! Show us!”
Tomori turned the smartphone screen towards Yuuta’s parents.
There was a picture of a Beastfolk girl surrounded by several Elves.
”Peeple frum thuh mewsem!”
Ellulu explained in broken words.
Then, flipping to another photo, there was a close-up of the Beastfolk girl with a serious face.
”Puruun! Seckond wifey!”
Ellulu said nostalgically.
”What is this… not taking pictures of my mom or Karin, but getting a close-up of his second wife… seriously, what a ridiculous pervert!”
Saying that, Tomori burst out laughing.
Ellulu laughed happily too.
And soon, even Yuuta’s parents started laughing loudly.
Thus, the Kashiwagi family was wrapped in big laughter for the first time in over 5 years.
