Volume 6 Chapter 18 Interlude꞉ The Puppet and the Fox
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”-Hey there, big sis. How’re you feelin’?”
Kazuramichi Naoshi, having visited a hotel room within Tokyo, asked the room’s occupant.
”Not bad. And I mean that without a shred of irony, ne.”
Hu Lingyin, lying on the sofa, turned a languid gaze toward Naoshi while shifting her posture. Just as when he’d seen her at the review meeting, her white thighs peeked out from the deep slit of her jade-colored cheongsam.
”I’m bored, but I know better than to ask for luxury right now, yo.”
”Well, I’m glad you’re so understandin’.”
As he spoke, Naoshi sat in the chair opposite her. While not the absolute pinnacle of luxury, the hotel room provided was high-class. Unless one lived a truly extravagant life normally, there wouldn’t be much to complain about. Even more so when it was given to someone who had committed such an outrage at a venue where VIPs were invited.
The perpetrator of the Touma Family assassination plot-a kyonshi ¹ user, a puppeteer (kugutsu ²), and a self-proclaimed genius Taoist ³-Hu Lingyin had ultimately buckled under Naoshi’s persuasion. In exchange for providing information, she had made two demands. One, of course, was the guarantee of her personal safety.
”How many died?”
”Twenty-one. No casualties among the general public. Well, it ended up being on the low side.”
”Is that so, ka.”
Even hearing that, Lingyin showed no sign of mourning the dead. Whether she was being resolute or simply wasn’t thinking about anything at all, Naoshi couldn’t quite tell.
”So, did you find anything out, ka?”
”Nothin’. Just a pack of mysterious foreign terrorists, ne.”
Naturally, no evidence clearly linking this perpetrator to a specific country or power had emerged. That was exactly why Lingyin’s testimony, and her existence itself, would be so meaningful from here on out.
”S’pose your info was pretty useful, though. Should I be sayin’ thanks?”
”Hmph. You’ve got those typical Japanese traits, too, ne. Smiling and grinning more than necessary. This was the result of a legitimate deal. There’s no need for thanks, ne.”
Saying it boredly, she waved her hand flippantly.
”Suit yourself. Forget I asked.”
”More importantly…”
Raising herself on the sofa, Lingyin leaned forward, emphasizing her ample breasts pushed up by the chest of her cheongsam. Her almond-shaped eyes, lined with sharp red eyeshadow, flashed with a sudden, predatory light.
”Surely you haven’t forgotten the other promise, ne?”
”Kukuku… Well now, you’re awfully bold today. Or is it just that you’re in a hurry for the continuation?”
”—-“
Lingyin answered neither yes nor no to Naoshi’s words. The other demand she had made in return for the information: a child of herself and Naoshi-and the copulation required for that purpose.
”You don’t have to be so greedy. That’s exactly why I’m here today.”
”Hmph.”
The intake of blood was something that also occurred among exorcists. It was understandable. Though it was a bold request considering it came after she had gone on a rampage in a foreign country she’d invaded, it might also have been aimed at making Naoshi feel some sense of attachment. Personally, it wasn’t to his liking-but considering the scale of the situation, Naoshi had ultimately accepted the demand. Considering what followed, it was likely the correct choice.
”However, there’s no guarantee of conception, and I’m not promising a second round. No complaints, okay?”
”No confidence? What a total disappointment. You’re shooting blanks, then, ne?”
”Figures. Someone who looks as easy to knock up as you would have a big mouth.”
”What’s that supposed to mean… ka? Fine. Just come here, ne.”
Folding her arms to emphasize her chest and walking with a swing of her hips that was almost deliberately exaggerated, Lingyin headed to the bed with Naoshi following.
”Well then, let’s start with the basics. Name and age.”
”…Hu Lingyin. Twenty-two.”
”So you’re not a ‘big sis’-you’re just a little lady. Don’t tell me you’re actually younger than me… birthplace?”
”Hong Kong.”
”Past partners? How many?”
”One-Hey, what’s the big idea, ne?”
Sitting on the bed, Lingyin spoke with half-closed, exasperated eyes.
”Why, it’s just traditional Japanese bedroom etiquette.”
”You think I don’t know, ka? This is just the setup for some Japanese porno, isn’t it?”
”Conversely, why the hell do you know that?”
”You Japanese just don’t realize how much the world thinks you’re all perverts, ne.”
”Talkin’ about individuals with those kinds of stereotypes… that’s a bit much, don’t you think?”
”Did you forget what you were just doing, ka? Surely you aren’t actually filming this, na?”
”I don’t have that kind of hobby, unlike you.”
”…What’s that supposed to mean, ne?”
”The room’s surveillance camera-were you gonna film us while we’re at it? I heard you checkin’ if you could get the footage.”
”Not really. I just thought I’d record the pathetic face you make while you’re drowning in me, yo.”
”Is that so? Then you can look back at it all you want later. That face of mine that I can’t show anyone else.”
”Ah-“
Saying so, Naoshi sat on the bed himself and pulled Lingyin onto his lap. Her soft limbs gave the impression of being slightly undertrained for an exorcist, but considering what was to come, he thought he could enjoy it. Even if he’d consented, it wasn’t his original intent; if so, there might as well be some perks.
”Nn…”
Parting her knees, he let his hand crawl along the inside of her thighs.
”Ah-“
When he made Lingyin face him, she twitched and trembled, but she obediently responded to his kiss. Considering her flashy appearance and aggressive attitude, the movement of her tongue was surprisingly modest. He had felt this during their persuasion the other day, but it seemed she didn’t have much experience at all.
”…Did you think I’d make a face like that, ka?”
”It’s my first time doin’ it with a foreigner, so I didn’t know the reality of you. But I generally know what a girl like you wants.”
”Oh? And what’s that, yo?”
While she put up a tough front, she was tinged with expectation and fear. Hugging her, Naoshi brought his lips close to her ear.
”You want me to ruin you, don’t you?”
”Ah-!”
His palm slipped smoothly under the dress. The heat between her legs was stifling, a humid, tropical throb that pulsed against his hand.
There was no resistance. None at all.
”Ah… ahh… nngh, a-aaah…!”
Lingyin’s back arched as his fingers traced the sensitive line of her ribs. They were joined at the root, their right hands intertwined, but she was trapped. No matter how much she writhed, she couldn’t escape the weight of him; she couldn’t climb down from his lap.
Her toes, her calves, her thighs, her spine-every part of her screamed to rise, to flee the mounting pressure.
”Ah, ha, ah… aah…”
But every movement she made only served to drive him deeper. Her body was betraying her, converting her struggle into a frantic, rhythmic begging for the Inside. Just as she’d lift herself an inch, her knees would buckle, her resolve crumbling as her internal muscles clamped around him in a desperate, unconscious plea. Don’t leave. Don’t let go.
Her knees gave way. Her waist crumbled. Just as her body desired. His yang-root ⁶ plunged back into the depths, striking the very core of her.
A premonition of climax. But then, the sensation shifted. Instead of the release of a peak, she felt her own spirit power (reiryoku ⁴) surging, being dragged into a terrifying upward spiral.
”Aaaaaah…!”
The cry of joy was laced with despair.
Again. He won’t let me go again, Lingyin lamented.
This was the true application of the Chamber Arts ⁵. The yang-root anchored within her was forcibly seizing her scattering yin-energy ⁷, melding their spirits and circulating the mixture through both their bodies. By Naoshi’s unbelievable energy, the power equalized within Lingyin and continued to rise like a screaming vortex. To an entirely unknown, far-off height.
”Naoshi…”
She gasped the name she had been taught.
”Look at you, actin’ like such a spoiled brat,” he laughed pleasantly.
”Please… stop… forgive me, please…”
”We’re only on the third round, ne? You can go more than that.”
”Ah-!”
The words were kind. The movement of his fingers stroking her body, even the movement of his connected hips. But the pleasure given by that had long since bypassed her limits. It was an agonizing, divine overload.
”No… it’s scary… I’m scared…”
”Nothin’ to worry about-I’m gonna show you a view you’ve never seen before.”
It was equivalent to a death sentence. The union of their reiryoku was forcing her into a landscape she had never seen.
”Aa, a, a, a, a—-!”
Furthermore, even above this… ka? She simply trembled at the pleasure and the even greater terror of its loss. She was breaking. He was systematically dismantling her. Tears tracked through her makeup as she shook her head, pleading for a mercy he had no intention of granting. She couldn’t get off this ride. Even if she jumped, the fall would be just as devastating. She could only cling to the man who had led her this far.
”No! No! Ahh… n-nnng… aaahhhhh!”
Lingyin sobbed without shame, like a frightened child. Clinging to the partner who made her so, she continued to beg for help.
”Kukuku…”
Even the voice laughing at that sight was comfortable. Dear.
Ah, I’ve been caught by a terrible man-
”-I really thought I was gonna be killed, ne.”
Still draped across the man’s body, remaining connected, Lingyin spoke with a hollowed-out rasp.
”For a ‘genius,’ you’re an awfully dramatic little lady.”
Naoshi snorted at her words.
”You don’t have to keep chirpin’ like a wounded bird. It’s startin’ to make me enjoy myself too much.”
”You… you’re definitely not gonna die a decent death, yo… I’m certain of it.”
”I’ll take that as a compliment.”
”Ngh-don’t laugh now…!”
The man’s throat rumbled; she felt it with her back in contact and her lower abdomen still connected-and Lingyin was horrified by how good it felt. The fact that her own pretext-that it was an act for a single copulation, self-preservation, and a certain kind of revenge-had been completely destroyed.
To be loved purely, just purely, by the man to whom she had succumbed to such an extent, was an intense and vivid experience. There was no need for the man’s side to do such a thing; there definitely shouldn’t have been. Even if it was because it was a promise to provide the seed, was there really a need to so persistently and thoroughly break down a woman who was no more than a casual acquaintance?
Even though it was nothing more than a whim-
”Do you… do you always do this to women, ka?”
”Nah. You just gave me such a cute little reaction, I couldn’t help myself.”
”-Go to hell, yo.”
She meant it, but the hatred wasn’t there. Lingyin made a final, silent surrender.
”Naoshi.”
”Yeah?”
”A name. The child’s name. After what you’ve done to me, it’s the least you can do, ne.”
”We don’t even know if you’re pregnant yet.”
”Then I’ll make sure it happens today, yo. Just think of a name, ne.”
”Man, you’re pushy with the add-ons. I don’t know the first thing about mainland names.”
”Nn…”
As he spoke, Naoshi began to trace characters onto Lingyin’s lower abdomen, right over the heat of their connection. He drew one character from his name, and one from hers.
”-What a boring, simple name, ne. No imagination at all, yo.”
”If you don’t like it, pick one yourself, ne. Brat.”
”Nn-“
She didn’t get to finish the insult. He pulled her back into a kiss, and Lingyin accepted it completely.”
