Volume 2 Chapter 4-2 Fake Bandits

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

’Never mind that, what about that girl?’

 ’What about her?’

’It’s decided, let’s have some fun until someone comes for her.’

’Don’t be an idiot. If you mess up and hurt her, you’re dead.’

’She’s just a receptionist for the Adventurers’ Guild. Dealing with those lazy bastards, she’s got to be a bitch.’

’Well, she’s a pushover anyway. It’s the same if we just take a little taste.’

This conversation is making me sick.

Tifi isn’t like that, you know.

 I don’t know, though.

 And we’re out of time.

If we dilly-dally, my Tifi will get hurt.

 ”Lifia, where is Tifi?”

”She’s alone in the back of the mansion. Probably locked up.”

The abandoned village is overgrown with grass, perfect for sneaking around.

Normally, there would be rustling sounds, but thanks to Lifia’s Spirit Magic, even the grass is silent.

And with detection magic, we can pinpoint the guards’ positions completely.

We hide in the shadows, avoid the lookouts, and move forward.

And we’ve reached the back of the mansion.

”The room is on the other side of this wall.”

”Alright, let’s break down the wall without making a sound…”

Then, from the room inside the wall, a sound.

 A loud door creak.

”Hey little lady, let’s have some fun.”

 ”Mmph!”

The men’s voices and Tifi’s muffled cries.

 Maybe she’s being restrained.

”Be good, and I’ll make it feel nice.”

 ”Mmm! Mmm!”

 ”Don”t struggle!”

 Bang! Something gets hit.

 Tifi is in danger.

I can’t stay hidden any longer.

 ”Lifia, now!”

 ”Yes! Air Impetus!”

 Lifia releases her magic.

The shockwave from her hand hits the wall.

It smashes through, creating a huge hole.

The wall collapses dramatically, raising a cloud of dust.

But thanks to the silence magic, no sound spreads around.

Inside the room, there’s Tifi, tied up and fallen.

 And 2 men.

 ”Wha, what are you!”

’One man was covering Tifi on the ground.’

You can tell his blood is boiling.

I leap into the room, swinging my spear at the man.

 It’s shallow.

 The opponent’s armor blocks it.

But I managed to knock him away.

I stood between Tifi and the man.

 ”Enemy attack! Enemy attack!”

 One man shouted.

 But no one else answered.

Lifia’s silence magic must be working.

 ”You did it, huh!”

The man I pushed away drew his sword and lunged at me.

 ”Air Palm!”

 ”Hmph!”

Lifia cast her magic, but the man swung his sword and blocked it.

 The invisible wind blast.

Then, without slowing down, he slashed at me.

 ”Ugh.”

I barely stopped the strike with my spear.

But this is bad──the enemy is too close.

 ”Amateur!”

From the sword clash, he kicked me hard in the stomach.

 ”Gah!”

 Full force hit me.

I stumbled and fell to my knees.

 ”Air Fist!”

 ”What!?”

Lifia cast an even stronger magic than before.

 The man blocked it again.

Still, he flinched for a moment.

I used that chance to stand and move toward Tifi.

 But…

 ”You’re not going anywhere.”

Another man appeared and blocked the exit.

Our escape was completely cut off.

So, we won’t get away easily.

 ”Master, I’ll handle this.”

Lifia stood next to me, her eyes full of determination.

 No choice.

 There’s no other way.

 ”…Sorry, please.”

Lifia nodded and called out to the spirit.

 ”Moolum! Whirlwind!”

A powerful 5-letter spirit magic erupted, making fierce winds swirl around Lifia.

The gusts blew the men away mercilessly, flattening the ruined mansion and the nearby trees.

As the storm tore through everything, the area around us became a strange calm zone──no wind at all.

I activated my skill “Love Hotel,” and a red door appeared.

I lifted the surprised Tifi, and the 3 of us stepped through the door.

Inside the quiet Love Hotel, I untied the ropes and gag that bound Tifi.

 ”Mr. Taro…?”

 ”Tifi, you’re safe now.”

 She couldn’t stop trembling.

I gently pulled her close and hugged her.

I could feel her shoulders shaking softly.

”You were scared. You did good.”

 ”Mr. Taro, Mr. Tarooo!”

With those words, she seemed to feel safe and buried her face in my chest, crying hard.

Tifi’s soft sobs echoed quietly in the room.

Usually strong and brave, Tifi was still just a young girl.

I could feel how scary the earlier event had been for her.

I held her tightly until she stopped crying.

I hugged her and gently stroked her head, hoping to give her some comfort.
