Volume 3 Chapter 15 Searching for Materials for the Sword, Stirring Emotions

After leaving Beckus’ workshop, we returned to the Adventurer’s Guild.

Tifi was waiting at the reception counter and greeted us brightly as soon as she saw us.

”Welcome back, Mr. Taro. How was the blacksmith?”

”Yeah, he agreed to take my request.”

We moved to the meeting room, and I reported that I had been introduced to an old man named Beckus.

Tifi’s eyes sparkled as soon as she heard that name.

”The swordsmith Beckus? You got a good introduction! You were right to ask Mr. Gaedaf.”

 ”Is he famous?”

At my question, Tifi nodded with a smile.

”Oh, definitely. His skill is top-notch. Adventurers around here all want Beckus’ weapons. But… his personality is just as famous for being a problem.”

”Well, I experienced that part too.”

I shrugged, and Tifi laughed a little.

”He stared at you, didn’t he…”

Kéa placed her hands over her chest, looking annoyed.

After finishing my report, I walked over to Gaedaf and handed him the bottle of alcohol that Lifia had neatly wrapped.

”Gaedaf, thanks for today. Please take this.”

Gaedaf’s eyes widened in surprise at the bottle and then he laughed loudly.

”Hey, hey, isn’t this the same alcohol you gave to old man Beckus? You don’t have to go this far!”

”You introduced me to the best craftsman in Dungeon City. Let me give you at least this. But please keep where this alcohol came from to yourself.”

At my words, Gaedaf became a bit serious and nodded firmly.

”Got it. In that case, I’ll gladly accept it. I have some sense, after all.”

 ”That’s good. I appreciate it.”

We lightly slapped each other on the shoulder and parted ways with Gaedaf.

Afterward, Tifi asked me with interest.

”Is it okay? You gave it to Mr. Gaedaf. Mr. Taro, you said you don’t want to spread the products created by your skills too much.”

 Just like Tifi said.

The stuff I made with my ‘Love Hotel’ skill is way too high-quality for this world’s standards.

If it gets out, especially to the heroes, it could cause some trouble.

 ”There’s definitely a risk.”

I thought for a moment, then continued.

”But even so, I think it’s better to get close to Gaedaf.”

 Tifi raised an eyebrow, surprised.

 ”Why is that?”

”Information always leaks sooner or later. It’s impossible to keep it completely secret. So, we should think about what to do when it does. It’s not a bad idea to have a connection with someone we can trust.”

Gaedaf is someone reliable, and Lifia’s Spirit Magic can vouch for that.

So, I decided it’s better to take some risks and build a relationship with him.

After pondering my words, Tifi smiled.

”I see, I understand. If that’s the case, I’ll support you as much as I can.”

 ”Yeah, I’m counting on you.”

Tifi nodded strongly when I said that.

The next day, I went to the dungeon with Lifia and Kéa.

We needed materials for the blacksmith, Beckus.

We ran through the front, passing another floor.

Skeletons that appeared along the way were defeated by Lifia’s magic or Kéa.

Adventurers we passed by were amazed by Kéa’s bikini armor and Lifia’s mini-skirt outfit, stretching their noses and gasping at their fighting power.

We kept doing that and conquered the 1st Floor in half a day.

We moved on to the 2nd Floor.

We arrived at the misty forest on the 2nd Floor of the dungeon and detected a Sword Deer with Lifia’s magic.

The Sword Deer must have considered us enemies as soon as it saw us, charging at us with a low posture, cutting through the ground.

Kéa dodged its charge and, in a swift move, sliced off the Sword Deer’s head.

Her movements were fluid, without any waste.

 ”As expected, Kéa.”

When I called out, Kéa stayed still, staring at the fallen Sword Deer.

 ”What’s wrong?”

When I asked, Kéa looked thoughtful for a moment before speaking.

”No, it’s just… I understood my past recklessness and my current luck.”

There was a self-deprecating tone in her voice.

”If I hadn’t met Milord back then, I would have surely taken risks. I would have chased Hasa and entered this dungeon alone… and I would definitely have lost to a monster and died.”

Yes, with her old strength, Kéa might have even lost to the skeleton on the 1st Floor.

Thanks to the Love Hotel, she regained her natural physical ability and found an aptitude for dual wielding.

Kéa clenched her fists and continued speaking.

”Even if I had somehow found Hasa, the result would have been the same. I would have surely been killed.”

In her eyes, there was a faint flicker of regret, mixed with the relief unique to someone who had survived.

”But that didn’t happen. You are here now. Together with us, moving safely through the dungeon.”

My words surprised Kéa for a moment, but then she nodded seriously.

”Yes, Milord. My current strength is thanks to meeting you. I will never forget that, and I will serve you with all my power!”

Her strong declaration made me smile naturally.

I could clearly see her growth.

The next day, we reached the 3rd Floor of the dungeon.

On this floor, Kéa took down monster after monster.

Her fighting was impressive, but her movements felt a bit awkward.

She was probably being careful not to break her sword.

It was clear she wasn’t giving it her all.

 ”Just a little more patience.”

 I murmured quietly.

Once this exploration was over, I would get the requested item and be able to have Beckes make a new sword.

Once it was finished, I could bring out Kéa’s true strength to the maximum.

After moving forward for a while, Lifia detected our target prey.

”Master, there’s a Mirage Brown Snail in front of us.”

 Finally found it.

At last, the target I wanted.

It always feels like they never appear when you want them.

I guess that’s just how it is.
