Volume 3 Chapter 16 Mad Blossom and Sleeping Moon

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 That morning, Kéa was restless.

Yesterday, I got a message from the blacksmith Beckus that Kéa’s sword was finished.

But I only found out in the evening.

It was too late then, so we planned to pick it up today.

As soon as Kéa heard that, she tried to rush out.

It took me a little effort to calm her down.

”Aren’t we leaving yet?” “Aren’t we going?”

Kéa kept asking again and again.

This started the moment I woke up.

”We’ll leave a little later. It’s too early to go, right?”

 ”That’s true…”

Kéa fell silent for a while, looking down at the floor, thinking.

I could see her small shoulders slightly rising and falling, trying to figure out what to say.

But soon, she looked up with a bright expression, her eyes full of hope again.

”Then let’s get ready to leave right now──”

”I told you it’s still too early.”

When I interrupted her, Kéa pouted, but she obediently backed down.

She reminded me of a kid who woke up too early on a school trip, worrying their parents.

 I couldn’t help but smile.

We decided to do our usual routine: take a shower, get ready, and then have a good breakfast before we leave.

Normally, Tifi, who works at the Adventurer’s Guild, leaves first, but today, we go first.

With Tifi giving us a wry smile as we left, we set off for Beckus’ workshop.

We walked through the town towards the workshop.

 Kéa’s eager steps stood out.

With her bright red ponytail swaying and her bikini armor, she was a beautiful knight.

Even without trying, she drew everyone’s attention, and her impatience made it even more noticeable.

Passersby looked at Kéa with surprise and stepped aside.

 ”Walk faster! We’re slow!”

As Kéa turned around waving her hand, Lifia and I exchanged glances and chuckled.

”I get that you’re excited, but can’t you calm down a bit?”

Even though I said that, Kéa didn’t listen at all and kept pushing ahead.

The destination is at the edge of craftsman town, through a back alley like a slum street.

Along the way, there are dirty cobblestones and crumbling buildings.

Soon, we arrive at Beckus’s workshop, and the door is already open, revealing the old man Beckus inside.

He is a small dwarf elder.

”Huh? It’s you folks. You’re quite early.”

Beckus sits in front of his workbench, his white hair and beard all tousled.

He has a rough, craftsman-like vibe, but a carefree air surrounds him.

When he says “early,” does he mean early in the morning, or does he refer to our visit right after contacting him?

 Or maybe both?

We are adventurers who usually dive into dungeons.

A normal adventurer wouldn’t return for days or even weeks after entering a dungeon.

So, maybe he was surprised we visited right away.

 But we are different.

Thanks to my skill ‘Love Hotel,’ I can return to the surface quickly, even from deep inside a dungeon.

For this time, let him believe it was just a lucky timing.

”Sword! Where is my sword!? It’s done, right?”

 Kéa eagerly steps forward.

 Her eyes shine with expectation.

 The energy makes Beckus chuckle.

”No need to rush, little lady. The sword won’t run away.”

The old man laughs and gently scolds Kéa.

”Come on, this way. Let me show you.”

Following Beckus deeper into the workshop, there are 2 blades lined up on the workbench…

 ”…katana?”

I couldn’t help but voice my surprise.

There lay 2 single-edged swords before me.

It was my first time seeing katanas in this world.

”Hmm! Little lady, you’re good at fighting with speed, right?”

Beckus glances at Kéa and smiles.

”Then, I thought a katana focused on sharpness would suit you better than a powerful one. Of course, since I made it, it has more power than an ordinary sword.”

 I see, I agree with Beckus’s assessment.

 ”Wow…It’s beautiful!”

Kéa gazes at the two swords, her eyes sparkling, breathless with wonder.

 ”Yes, yes! Good, good!”

Old man Beckus puffed out his chest proudly.

It’s a beautiful sword, for sure.

The blade has a sharp look.

The silver metal shines with rainbow colors when the light hits it.

I was amazed by its beauty.

And at the base of the blade and on the black scabbard, there were delicate decorations.

One has a red flower drawn on it, and the other has a design of a golden moon.

The shine of the metal makes it look dignified.

But, I think this blade is a little long for dual wielding.

As if he knew, the old man explained.

”It may look long, but I’ve adjusted the center of gravity perfectly. You can handle it easily, and it should work fine for the little lady’s arms.”

Kéa is amazed and looks at the sword.

”Thank you for this wonderful thing!”

The old man nodded happily and pointed at the sword.

”And, about the name of the sword. The red one is ‘Mad Blossom’, and the golden one is ‘Sleeping Moon’.”

 ”Flos Specli and Luna Aquae…?”

 Lifia muttered quietly.

Beckus’s eyes widened in surprise at those words.

”Oh, little little lady, you know a lot! That’s right, I named them after the two goddess sisters who control Passion and Silence.”

It seems to be from the gods of this world.

I wonder if it was imagined to match Kéa’s hair and eye color.

 It suits her well.

Lifia stared at the sword, nodding.

Her eyes looked somehow emotional, as if she understood the deep meaning of the two swords.

”Can I use it right away?”

Kéa excitedly reached for the two swords.

 ”Kéa”

At that moment, a cold voice echoed in the workshop.

 It was Lifia.

 ”S-senior? What is it?”

 Kéa turned around, confused.

Her innocent expression, full of joy at the sight of the sword, froze in an instant.

Lifia stretched out her small body, and stared straight at Kéa with her blue eyes.

”For a knight, a weapon is not just a tool. It is a part of the soul and a symbol of pride. It is a promise of loyalty to the Master, a sign of readiness to walk a new path. So, shouldn’t that sword be officially given by the Master?”
