Volume 4 Chapter 14-2 White Rice and Miso Soup

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

So, maybe Yomi was worried about my gaze, because she was squirming under the blanket, trying to put on her shirt.

 ”Um, this outfit…”

Wrapped in the blanket, Yomi looked like she wanted to say something.

 ”Hmm? What’s up?”

 ”No, it’s nothing…”

She probably knew she shouldn’t complain, even if her face was flushed with shame.

Still, she hesitated and crawled out from the blanket.

Yomi in a see-through dress shirt was provocative.

Her red nipples showed through the thin fabric.

They were plump and definitely noticeable.

 Plus, this shirt was Lifia’s.

The size was all wrong, making her huge breasts pop the buttons like they might burst.

And, of course, she was completely n*ked underneath.

Her white thighs were boldly exposed, and a little movement could show off her private parts.

 This was definitely lewd.

If it was Kéa’s shirt, the size wouldn’t have been an issue, but I totally asked Lifia to set this up for me knowing what I was getting.

Yomi crossed her arms over her chest and down there, backing away like she wanted to escape my gaze.

That little action stirred up my desires.

Of course, I had no plans to make a move right now.

I glanced at her while starting to choose from the menu.

* * *

 ”So tasty… it’s really yummy…”

The girl was crying as she kept eating with her chopsticks.

The perfectly cooked white rice, the steaming miso soup, and the sweet-savory meat and potato stew.

The potatoes were fluffy, the beef tender, and the sweetness of the onions was soaked through.

”I can’t believe I can eat this in another world…”

Without even wiping her tears, Yomi was shoveling spoonfuls of rice into her mouth.

Sometimes, she took bites of the stew too, her eyes glistening as her throat made little sounds.

Lost in her meal, the girl didn’t notice she was being watched, her big boobs and see-through nipples on full display.

We were enjoying our meal together too.

”Really, the food here is delicious, isn’t it?”

”Don’t forget to be thankful to Master.”

I had been saved by this Love Hotel’s room service for a long time.

Lifia and the others, used to this food, probably wouldn’t be satisfied with anything else.

”It’s just like the meals I had at home… I never thought I’d eat them again…”

Tears were streaming down Yomi’s face.

That voice was so heartbreakingly sad, I had to look away just a little.

Even in this strange world, the food wasn’t bad at all.

Still, she probably couldn’t forget the taste of home.

It would hit her real hard, Japanese food craving and all.

 ”Well, now, eat up proper.”

 ”Yes, Mr. Aisuku… thank you…”

Yomi mumbled, smiling just a little.

Her smile was still kinda stiff, but she looked like she felt a tiny bit at peace.

* * *

”Thanks for the meal. Again, really, thanks.”

Yomi clasped her hands, shyly bowing.

Her face, all messy from tears, now had a soft red flush, showing a faint relief.

 ”You’re welcome.”

That warm meal, that taste of Japan, seemed to slowly loosen Yomi’s tense heart.

”…Feels like I’m dreaming. To be in a place like this, eating real proper food…”

Yomi quietly whispered, lost in thought.

Maybe her lonely, scared, worried feelings were just a little eased now.

 ”Wow, such an amazing skill…”

Yomi looked around the room and muttered.

Seeing the room of the Love Hotel, enjoying the room service, she probably realized just how awesome her ‘Love Hotel’ skill really was.

”Looks like you’re calmed down now.”

I gave a small laugh and spoke softly.

Yomi put her hand on her chest, exhaled softly, and nodded faintly.

 ”Yeah… finally, just a little…”

The girl who was crying just moments before seemed to relax her shoulders a bit.

Still a little worried, but the fear was less, replaced by a sort of peaceful feeling.

I exhaled deeply, settled back into my chair, and looked at Yomi.

 Time to calm down enough.

”Well then, now that the treatment and meal are done, I guess I’ll take my payment.”

 ”…!”

Yomi’s face froze in an instant.

She hurriedly pressed her hand to her chest, took a step back, and put distance between us.

 ”Eh… eh?! N-no… I don’t want that… not like that…”

Her eyes, flickering with worry and caution, looked away, face turning red.

She thought I was asking for her innocence.

Being half-n*ked in a revealing shirt didn’t help matters, of course.

”I wanna know about the other heroes remaining in the capital.”

 ”…Huh? Oh, r-right…!”

Yomi looked confused for a moment, then her face blushed bright red as she realized she misunderstood.

She covered her face with her hands and muttered softly, “So embarrassing…!”

”What did you think I was talking about?”

I pretended to be clueless, and Yomi turned even redder and looked down.

 ”…because… that…”

Watching Yomi stumble over her words, Kéa leaned in with a mischievous grin.

”You were imagining something naughty, weren’t you?”

 ”N-No, that’s not it!”

Yomi hurriedly denied, but Kéa kept grinning with a teasing smirk.

 Lifia stayed calm, smiling gently.

 ”T-Those other classmates, right!”

Yomi quickly changed the subject, awkwardly.

She said there are about 20 heroes left in the royal capital.

The summoned heroes, including me, should be around 32.

The 10 heroes who made it here to Dungeon City include Yomi.

But what about the other one?

”Actually… Professor Kayama, the homeroom teacher, apparently died.”

 That old guy, dead huh?

 ”Is that… true?”

I asked back, and Yomi hesitated a bit.

”I heard it was an accident, but I don’t know the details either. But the teacher’s been acting suspicious since the summoning…”

Her words made me remember that day at the royal castle.

Everyone must have been confused during the foreign world summoning.

And that homeroom teacher was especially suspicious.

I remember he looked like he just couldn’t accept what was happening.

Was it really just an accident?

Did he get caught in the chaos, confused and cause something bad?

Or was he erased by the royal castle as a troublemaker, or cast out just like me?

 I dunno.

But it doesn’t really matter to me.

”And so, many of the heroes sent here to Dungeon City also had bad conduct in the royal capital. Maybe they were cast aside, and that’s why they ended up here.”

 That makes sense.

The heroes who came here were pretty much troublemakers.

They caused problems even in the royal city, and maybe this city was just a place to get rid of them.

But Yomi who came with her didn’t seem to have bad manners.

Her attitude toward me was also fine, no problems there.

I don’t understand why she got treated like that, not at all.

”I… was called ‘incompetent,’ so I wasn’t useful or valued.”

Yomi’s eyes drooped a little, her voice got quieter.

”Because I can’t use skills, I’m not recognized as useful in battle. So, I had no place even in the palace.”

 I think about it.

Yomi’s skills, whether she’s really useless or not, I still don’t know.

 I’ll check it thoroughly later.

After that, I got to hear more about the remaining heroes from Yomi.

Those who cooperate with the king, those who resist and don’t cooperate, and those who don’t care about anything.

You can see their stances and actions clearly.

They also explained the skills they possess.

”Someone like Mr. Aisuku, with such an amazing skill… there probably isn’t anyone like that.”

There are quite a few skills suitable for combat, like swordplay and magic.

But, none of them currently possess a skill strong enough to be an overwhelming force.

Support skills are somewhat useful, but nowhere near the ‘Love Hotel’ level.

Summing up what Yomi said, we don’t see anything that could threaten us.

 At least, not right now.

 ”…I see.”

Naturally, I let out a small breath.

I felt the tension I didn’t realize I was holding back ease up just a little.

 For now, I’m safe.

”Thanks. You really helped me out.”

When I said that, Yomi smiled a little bashfully.

”I’m glad I could be of help.”

That smile was just like any normal teenage girl’s──simple, honest.
