Volume 4 Chapter 63-2 Rest Amid The Waves
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”It’s been a while since we’ve had a moment like this, hasn’t it?”
”Ah. It’s not so bad once in a while.”
The sea breeze blows comfortably, and in the distance, Kéa’s laughter rides the waves, reaching us.
By the way, during this time, Rozmiaque is waiting in his room.
When I’m teasing with my wife, he kindly go outside. Much appreciated.

When we returned, exhausted from swimming, Rozmiaque had crafted a wooden fishing rod and a vine fishing line using magic. He’s quite skilled.
It seems he learned it because he often enjoyed fishing during our journey.
We tried fishing from the ship’s deck.
We didn’t catch much.
However, Brownie and the others had a big catch.
Even though we used the same bait in the same spot. Why?
The fish we caught were skillfully cleaned by the Brownie sailors. They seem to be good at preparing seafood dishes, turning them into grilled fish, simmered dishes, fried foods, and soups, transforming ocean treasures into various meals.
Everyone savored the dishes.
By the way, only I and Yomi ate sashimi. The others were put off. Unacceptable.
Lifia, there’s no need to force yourself to eat it if it makes you nauseous…
There were sea monsters, but the demon sardines Tifi commands quickly scattered them. It seems there are no monsters as large as those on the Dungeon Deep Floor.
In this way, we spent several days peacefully on the ship.
Temporarily freed from the tension of battles and escapes, we simply felt the vastness of the sea and sky.

After continuing such days, it was finally time for old man Beckus to complete the cannon.
Using the warp function of the Love Hotel, we opened the door to Dungeon City and visited the workshop.
In the craftsman’s street of Dungeon City, inside the workshop at the edge, two dwarf old men were waiting.
”Oh! You’re here!”
”It’s been a while, Taro! We did a great job!”
One is the renowned blacksmith Beckus, known for his skill, and the other is his younger brother, Nokiroul, famous as a magic tool forger.
It seems they also had Nokiroul lend a hand.
We quickly showed the requested items to the confident pair.
At the deepest part of the workshop, there was a presence emitting an unusual aura.
A cannon, imbued with the presence of rough iron and magical power, was seated there.
The barrel was made of jet-black magic metal, with red pulses of magical power running across its surface.
Despite its thick and heavy silhouette, the shape somehow conveyed a graceful curve. It faintly glimmered under the light.
Such a cannon was there.
Beckus puffed out his chest and explained.
”The plan is as follows: The base is magic metal, and woven into it are scales of the magic fish you all brought back from the 5th Floor, used as armor material.”
”The power source is the magic stone of a demon sardine. We used three of the highest purity ones. These circulate magical power through the barrel, activating the magic circle constructed inside. What it shoots isn’t a bullet. It’s a strike using compressed magical power… Essentially, it’s like firing the magic essence itself.”
Following Beckus, Nokiroul began to explain.
Using materials obtained from the dungeon’s 5th Floor in abundance, and finished through a fusion of blacksmithing and magic craftsmanship, this was truly a one-of-a-kind creation. The sight of it sitting on the workshop floor exuded a sense of intimidation.
This cannon, or rather, the magic cannon, will be our trump card.
* * *
It’s a rematch.
We once again set foot on the dungeon’s 5th Floor, ‘Seafloor of Shadow Waves.’
The objective was simple: the subjugation of the Guardian of the floor, the Sea Serpent.
Last time, we were forced to retreat.
But this time, it’s different. We have a new trump card.
The magic cannon mounted on this pirate ship, and the tactics adapted from my ‘Love Hotel.’
Cutting through the swirling waves, our pirate ship advances quietly. We close the distance as much as possible, heading toward the place where it sleeps.
The Sea Serpent, unchanged from before, coils around the tower on the seafloor, blocking the staircase leading to the next floor. Its scales blend into the deep-sea blue, quietly exuding an overwhelming presence.
”It is aware of us.”
”Unlike last time, it’s on guard.”
Lifia and Rozmiaque informed us.
It looks like it’s sleeping, but apparently, it’s definitely gazing directly at us. As expected, it was alert after the last battle.
Even if we get a little closer, it will probably bare its fangs.
We cautiously approach, bringing the ship as close to its range as possible.
To the limit within the Dragon Breath’s range from the other day. If we step beyond here, we will be targeted precisely. That’s why we need to maintain this distance.
Meanwhile, we have confirmed that our new weapon, the magic cannon, can reach even at this distance.
From here, we can attack unilaterally.
That said, we cannot let our guard down.
What if the Sea Serpent was holding back and had not gone all out last time? What if it was hiding its true strength? If it goes all out, it might have attack methods that can reach even at this distance.
That is precisely why we have this operation.
We stop the ship.
Then, we give instructions to the Brownie sailor at our feet. In his hand, a card shining gold.
”Open the door.”
When I speak, the Brownie jumps up happily, holding the card up to the sky with a big smile.
Before our eyes, on the deck, the door to the Love Hotel appears.
Yes, what he is holding is a card key to enter the Love Hotel.
Surprisingly, it was also possible to give the fairy a ‘Love Hotel’ card key. This allowed us to register many warp points.
By doing this, we gained a new strategy.
By opening the door, this place was registered as a warp point with the function of a ‘Love Hotel.’
But for now, don’t enter the door; quickly close it. Then, move. At the new location, have another Brownie open the door again.
While moving, circle around the Sea Serpent while keeping a certain distance. Open and close the door repeatedly, painting an invisible ring in the sea as if drawing around it.
We inscribed multiple warp points in the sea to encircle the giant snake.
An ambush route that allows instant movement anywhere during battle──that’s the application of my ‘Love Hotel.’
And from there, unleash that magic cannon.
Everything to take down that massive body.
This time for sure, we’ll settle it.
