However, the soft ivy cushion absorbed the impact.

Amid screams and shaking, the ship’s hull slowed down as if sliding and stopped just before hitting the motel wall.

 ”Success, huh.”

One of the fairies made a small fist pump in response to my quiet comment.

I opened the menu screen to check the situation outside.

The screen showed the scene of the sea outside.

The small familiars, which were once the motel’s doors, are circling around looking confused.

Having lost sight of their target, they wriggle in frustration underwater, looking just like a predator that has lost its prey.

 And beyond that.

A giant shadow, a sea serpent, lies on the seabed, its sharp, water-colored eyes narrowing as it glares at us.

Its face is facing forward, and it’s only moving its gaze to look around.

It’s clearly being careful. The moment we appear again, it plans to attack instantly with its breath.

But of course, I have no intention of getting hit by that.

The magic cannon installed on the ship’s front signals it’s fully charged.

Inside the motel, the platform carrying the ship starts to turn quietly.

It realigns the ship’s front toward the entrance.

 ”Everyone, keep going, okay?”

After confirming my teammates nod, I give the next command.

 ”Point B, open.”

One fairy raises a gold card key in response to my command. It’s a different fairy from the one who entered earlier.

 A new entrance shutter opens.

The location is opposite the previous one, behind the sea serpent.

The sea serpent is still cautious about the initial point.

It hasn’t noticed we appeared behind it yet.

 ”Fire!”

At my order, the magic cannon fires again. Directly from inside the dock.

A streak of light from the ship’s front, a strong magic beam, shoots straight through the dark blue sea.

And hits the sea serpent’s back.

In an instant, the shock shakes the seabed, and turbulent currents swirl around.

The sea serpent jerks back. Its pale blue scales tear, and its golden mane sways as if scattering.

A dull roar echoes underwater, and the sound’s pressure alone makes my chest feel tight.

 The surprise attack worked.

 ”Hit confirmed! It’s very effective!”

 Lifia’s report comes in quickly.

Her voice rises with a mix of tension, excitement, and thrill.

 But it’s not over yet.

The sea serpent slowly twists its huge body and turns around, its clear blue eyes locking onto us, filled with the anger of a prey that got away.

But behind that, there’s visible confusion from the unexpected attack, puzzlement over something it can’t understand.

Maybe it’s even more confused because it’s so smart.

It wonders. Why was it attacked from behind? How did we move our position? What is that structure?

Doubt, frustration, and thoughts swirl around. And yet, the more it thinks, the slower its movements become.

 And those thoughts are useless.

There’s no way it could predict the functions of my ‘Love Hotel’.

A skill that connects spaces, hides positions, and allows resting whenever──such a thing doesn’t fit its knowledge or common sense.

And if it can’t understand, it can’t deal with us.

In this battle, the advantage is completely ours.

 Despite thinking, it doesn’t stop.

Roaring with anger, the sea serpent puffs up its chest.

Here it comes, the Torrential Water Breath!

 ”Close it up!”

I shout while operating the menu.

Right away, the shutter of the teleportation gate starts to close with a loud sound.

Just before it closes, light gathers in the sea.

From the sea serpent’s mouth, a jet of water pressure strong enough to swallow even sound is released.

But before it can hit, with a clank, the shutter completely closes.

 Silence fills the motel.

The ‘Love Hotel’, including the motel, exists in a separate space isolated from the outside world.

Its attack won’t have any effect.

The breath passes through uselessly, piercing the empty sea.

”Sure enough, there’s no need to go out and fight, right?”

Yomi says, seeming to relax her shoulders.

 ”…Yeah.”

 I reply briefly.

I would have liked to keep the ‘Love Hotel’s’ abilities hidden.

But now that it’s come to this, there’s no point in holding back. The sea serpent that saw the teleportation can be taken down right here. There are no other witnesses.

Every usable card should be played thoroughly.

With my mind made up, I decide on the strategy right away.

”Then let’s just attack it from the inside. No need to go out.”

And so we repeatedly attack it from within the motel.

Open the shutter and fire the magic cannon.

Immediately close it and block the counterattack.

Without giving the sea serpent time to recover, we fire again from another warp point.

Before it can react, we move to the next position and shoot again.

The sound and shockwave only echo outside the sea.

Inside the motel, it’s quiet and safe, like an artillery platform──continuous attacks from the safe zone.

With no way to even hurt us, the sea serpent is completely cornered──direct hits from the magic cannons one after another.

As we keep this up, the sea serpent starts to learn how to respond, memorizing the warp point locations and placing sharks there, watching all around, and aiming to attack the moment we open the door.

However, even such measures have limits.

The attacks, sharks, and our allies all fail to reach us. All counterattacks are useless.

 Plus, we can rest freely.

Sometimes taking a few hours’ break between attacks; other times firing repeatedly from the same point. Such actions drain its stamina and focus──overwhelming advantage.

 It’s almost embarrassing.

And when the final blow lands, the sea serpent lets out a scream that tears through the sky, wriggles its huge body, and collapses.

Dust clouds swirl in the water, and the huge shadow lies across the seabed’s sandy area.

And it doesn’t move at all.

 ”…Did we defeat it?”

As I mutter, Lifia quietly closes her eyes and listens carefully.

 ”I can’t hear… any voice.”

Lifia listens to the heartbeat of life. Not being able to hear it means…

In other words, it’s truly defeated.

The dungeon’s Guardian. The ruler of the floor no one could challenge in a hundred years. The sea serpent, far stronger than an average dragon. We did it!

At that moment, the motel’s atmosphere changes completely.

 After the silence, joy erupts.

 ”We did it!!”

 ”We won!!”

”Amazing, so amazing! To defeat such a monster…!”

Lifia places her small fist over her chest, tears in her eyes, but a relieved smile on her face.

Yomi jumps up and down happily, raising both hands high.

The brownies clap their little hands and dance around in circles, turning the deck into a festive scene.

Kéa holds her sword high, her face twisted as she laughs with a howl.

 ”Oh… my lord… what a magnificent feat…!”

Rozmiaque kneels before me, his long golden hair swaying as he places his hand over his chest, as if praying to a god, giving thanks for the victory.

 ”Mr. Taro!”

The door to the Love Hotel bursts open, and Tifi flies in.

She immediately rushes over and hugs me.

Seeing this, the other girls follow one after another, each vying to hug me first.

I hold them all tightly, yet gently.

Their joy and relief are conveyed through their skin, from their hearts.

A smile naturally spreads across my face as well.

 It was a complete victory.

It was a bit… no, quite a sneaky way to fight, but I should still be proud of it.

I opened a new floor of the dungeon. That act alone has value.

It was a perfect victory, won with wisdom, teamwork, and the power of this ‘Love Hotel’.

Fairy: “It would be nice if it works out.”
