Volume 4 Chapter 23 Aftermath

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Komoda and Shoji’s groups waited at the dungeon exit.

We told both groups we’d fight the Floor Boss today. Komoda likely worried I’d lose. Shoji likely waited to get the magic pistol (a special gun) Risa borrowed from Inatomi.

”So you made it back in one piece,” Komoda said.

 ”Welcome back,” Shoji said.

Komoda looked relieved. Shoji’s way was cold. We gave Shoji no info on the boss’s strength. But everyone knows the “Commercial District” boss is weak in its base state. He seemed baffled why Komoda was so worked up.

This info is a trade secret of the Komoda house. Before I slipped up, best to send Shoji off.

Risa handed the heat-ray gun to Inatomi.

”Thank you. I used it with gratitude. It was extremely useful,” Inatomi said.

”I am glad this magic pistol (child) was of service to you. Please, if there are any other magic pistols (children) that need help, let me know,” Risa said.

”Sure. Same here, if you need any magic pistol (child), just say the word. I’ll do what I can,” Inatomi said.

”Yes. I look forward to working with you again,” Risa said.

”Let’s keep this good relationship going,” Inatomi said.

They shook hands and parted. Shoji’s group left. During the second semester, no trouble from them. Despite their flashy entrance, total anticlimax.

Truth is… is Shoji not an event character, but a selectable Protagonist character? That’s my recent wild theory. The story switches between the dungeon protagonist (Komoda) and the tower protagonist (Shoji). A multi-perspective game sounds interesting, no? Or would it be total kusoge1?

But surely not. It’d be unnatural if trouble lurked everywhere. Peace is fine.

Taking Shoji’s place, Komoda and his group came over.

”He didn’t enter the dungeon today,” Komoda said.

”He must have come for the magic pistol. It’s valuable. He wanted it back quick,” Risa said.

The custom heat-ray gun was borrowed through Risa’s connections. Even as a starting weapon, it’s a masterpiece — kills a mannequin in Runaway State fast. Amazing we got to borrow it.

”He really likes Shiho-san. Once we routed the request through her, we got approval right away,” Risa said.

Ah, that magic-engine-mad upperclassman. It’s human nature to lend strength to someone who truly loves your collection.

”Anyway, how was the boss?” Komoda asked.

”We managed to exorcise it. We cleared the ‘Commercial District.’ I think I’m the second after you. There’s lots to talk about. It’s awkward standing here… let’s move somewhere else,” I said.

 ”Yeah, fine,” Komoda said.

A big group loitering at the dungeon entrance would annoy the Admin receptionist. Her gaze said, “Hurry up and leave.” So we cleared out. After turning in non-Uniform patches at the exchange counter for cash, we went to the karaoke box in front of the station.

Even a big room feels tight with two groups.

Risa and a girl named Masaki started singing right away. Chifumi and Muto ordered drinks and snacks. Once everything arrived, we toasted and the party began.

 Komoda started with questions.

”Let’s get to it. What were the boss’s drops?” Komoda asked.

”Now that you mention it…” I started.

I paused. Someone must have picked them up when I felt sick, but at the counter earlier, we didn’t hand anything like that in.

 ”It’s this~” Chifumi said.

She pulled a marble-sized stone from her bag.

An Escape ball. Seriously? Escape balls are valuable even among consumables. Buying permission costs high contribution points. Having one spare changes everything for future dungeon runs.

”That’s amazing. If the limbs are intact, it drops something that valuable?” Komoda asked.

”What about you, Komoda?” I asked.

”That is… but before that, can we stop using ‘kun’? It’s needlessly formal and annoying,” Komoda said.

”…You’re right. From now on, I’ll drop the honorifics. Nice to meet you, Komoda,” I said.

”Yeah, nice to meet you, Tatemiya. …So, my drops. This,” Komoda said.

He pulled out a shriveled finger. Wait, is that—

”A Majin’s pinky finger. An accessory that raises resistance to sorcery,” Komoda said.

”That’s valuable too. Cheaper than an Escape ball, but for regular dungeon runs, this one wins,” I said.

”It’s an item I’ll need later. That’s why I wanted it no matter what,” Komoda said.

For a split second, his gaze flicked to Muto and the others.

Maybe he wanted it to enjoy the “dM-play” longer?

”How was the boss’s strengthening?” Komoda asked.

”The Torso with limbs used attack, defense, movement, and every type of sorcery. Attack sorcery was fire and earth. Movement was short-range teleportation,” I said.

 ”I see,” Komoda said.

”Stopping and restarting actions by blinking worked. Nothing to fear if you know the trick,” I said.

”This info must be passed down securely,” Komoda said.

”I think so too,” I said.

Basically, if you know the blinking trick, you’re fine.

”But increasing the number of limbs is questionable,” Komoda said.

 ”Meaning?” I asked.

”A ‘Runaway State.’ Gathering the limbs is likely the trigger. I defeated the Torso once, but it went into a runaway state and revived,” Komoda said.

 ”Revived!?” I exclaimed.

”A Torso with a head appeared. For a boss with a head, blinking doesn’t stop it. It didn’t stop moving until the end. Even with fatal wounds, it fully healed five times. You can’t exorcise it unless you defeat it five times in a Runaway State,” Komoda said.

”…Tatemiya, how on earth did you win?” Komoda asked.

”I think so too. We were lucky in many ways,” I said.

”The boss was stronger than before the runaway, right?” Komoda asked.

”At least, it uses various sorcery. Flashy area-of-effect stuff. Three attributes at once — fire, earth, and lightning. We managed because we had defenses, but… if you plan to fight it, have countermeasures ready,” I said.

 ”……” Komoda said nothing.

 He seemed to be thinking.

”It didn’t hit the runaway state with two parts. If you want to be safe, stick to two,” Komoda said.

”Aren’t there records for three-part fights?” I asked.

”No info on three. Only that you challenged it, and the drops are the same as two,” Komoda said.

 ”Hmm,” I said.

Komoda family lore is vague. Lucky it works at all. Probably Komoda was countered, so he didn’t get correct info.

Anyway, that’s another house’s business. Not ours.

 One more thing to check.

”Is it safe to assume this info stays secret?” I asked.

”Yeah. I don’t want it public,” Komoda said.

 ”Understood,” I said.

Sharing dungeon info raises our contribution rank with the government. Originally it’s Komoda family info. Not my place to share. If they keep it secret, we stay out of it.

”I’ll make sure it doesn’t leak outside the group,” Komoda said.

 ”I’d appreciate that,” I said.

The tension between us slowly eased.

”Phew… glad the assignment’s done before final exams. I’m relieved,” Komoda said.

”I’m glad you beat the boss safely,” Komoda said.

”Sorry for worrying you,” I said.

”It’s fine. …Can I ask why you were so set on fighting the strengthened boss?” Komoda asked.

 ”Ah…” I paused.

Well, I can say a bit.

”Keep it secret. I can command the Aberrations I subjugate,” I said.

”I saw you commanding a Shrimp and a Centipede the other day,” Komoda said.

”Exactly. And, well, the conditions for my subjugation are annoying. One is to defeat the Aberration at full power,” I said.

”So you insisted on the strengthened version because defeating it weak wouldn’t count?” Komoda asked.

”Roughly, yes. By defeating it complete, I could subjugate the Torso,” I said.

”To raise your combat power… you wanted as many strong Aberrations as possible, for hard dungeons,” Komoda said.

”It’s an E-class dungeon boss. Even strengthened, it won’t spam instant-death attacks. Should be useful in future dungeons too,” I said.

While we talked, the remote and song book got passed around. Chifumi sang. She’s good as always.

The serious talk ended. Everyone celebrated finishing the dungeon training assignment. We enjoyed karaoke.

We called it a night when the sun fully set.

Komoda’s group split off at the station. We went our separate ways.

No overnight stay duty today. Because of where we live, only Chifumi and I walked back together.

”Was it okay to tell them about the subjugation?” Chifumi asked.

”Someday, it’ll leak from somewhere. Info’s probably already going around among the faculty. I don’t plan to advertise it, but I don’t need to hide it desperately either,” I said.

If anything, it measures Komoda’s trust.

Talking like that, we reached Chifumi’s house.

I meant to part there, but her mother peeked out from the entrance.

”Good timing. Chifumi, Mommy has some business. I’ll be out about an hour. Be a good girl and watch the house,” Takino Mother said.

 ”Ehh~. Fine, but…” Chifumi said.

”Minoru-kun, if you want, stay for dinner. Don’t be shy,” Takino Mother said.

Her pushy mother dragged me inside. We saw her off as she hurried out.

 ”…Let’s eat~” Chifumi said.

I ate the meal Chifumi’s mother had pre-prepared with Chifumi.

I thought we took our time, but only about 30 minutes passed.

 ”……”

 ”……”

Our eyes met. I could tell what she was thinking. A rematch from the other day?

After taking dishes to the sink, we went straight to Chifumi’s room upstairs.

Chifumi knelt by the bed, fell forward onto it, and wriggled her hand under her skirt to lower her underwear herself. Her clean underwear caught on her left ankle.

I knelt behind Chifumi and took out my cock, which had grown quite eager.

The tip nudged her opening, gently coaxing it wider. Chifumi’s nectar welled up and coated me. I mixed it with my own pre-cum, then slowly pushed my hips forward. I was swallowed into the warm, slick channel. Pressing my hips tight against her buttocks, I let out a breath. By some strange coincidence, Chifumi and I breathed deeply at the same time.

”Hhh…♡♡” I sighed, my voice thick with desire.

 Her sigh was so provocative.

Straight from practice, still in uniforms, not even showered — connecting like this. I love these moments. Feels like being a foolish high school student with nothing but lust in my head. I slipped my hand inside her skirt, caressing her round, smooth buttocks as I drove my hips in.

”Nn…♡ ggh…♡…nnn…♡♡” Chifumi whimpered, voice strained, fighting for control.

Chifumi pressed her face into the pillow, trying to hide the lewd sounds.

Honestly, I wanted to hear her sweet voice, but this has its own charm — the feel of doing something secretly forbidden.

I glanced at the clock by the bedside.

About fifty minutes since her mom left. She could return any second. But I didn’t want to end this bliss.

As I rubbed us together, slapping my hips against her firm bottom, a sound came from the entrance.

”I’m home—” her mother called from the foyer.

 ””!? “”

No doubt — that was her mother.

Chifumi, face flushed, lifted her head from the pillow and whispered.

”Mom’s back! This is bad. Pull out, it’s over,” Chifumi urged, voice trembling.

”Sorry, can’t,” I replied, tone firm.

”What do you mean ‘can’t’…! Minoru…!” Chifumi hissed, eyes wide with panic.

The more she panicked, the more excited I got. My cock grew even harder.

I held Chifumi as she tried to squirm away, and thrust wide and hard, slamming into her depths.

”Ah…♡…wait, Minoru! Are you an idiot!? Stop! This is bad!! Ah…♡” Chifumi cried out, her restraint breaking.

”An apology for not finishing together last time,” I whispered, pinning her down.

”What does that mean♡…this isn’t the time! Stop it! Unh…♡” she gasped, body arching.

I silenced Chifumi with my cock as she tried to wriggle out.

She was right — the situation only got worse — but my hips wouldn’t stop.

”Chifumi~? I see Minoru-kun’s shoes, are you in your room~?” her mother called, footsteps on the wood.

The sound of her walking up the stairs.

The door was closed, but no lock. If she opened it, everything would be on full display.

 ”You can’t…!? ♡♡Minoru! …Forgive me…♡♡♡” Chifumi pleaded, voice a desperate whisper.

I felt a shiver as Chifumi looked back, begging.

”Chifumi, cum♡” I commanded, voice rough.

”!? !? !? Ghhnn…♡♡♡♡” Chifumi moaned, voice shattering as she lost control.

 Beneath me, Chifumi’s body convulsed.

Her buttocks, pressed against me, tightened and twitched. That signature contraction of her nectar-filled chamber. No doubt — she climaxed.

I stopped holding back and came deep inside her, where she pulsed and tightened around me.

I poured my seed into her in spurts. Damn. It feels incredible.

Her mother reached the top of the stairs.

Just as she was about to open the door, I called out.

”Auntie. Please don’t open the door,” I said, trying to sound casual.

”Minoru-kun? Is something wrong?” she asked through the thin wood.

”I accidentally spilled some snacks. They’re all over the floor in front of the door. I’m cleaning up, so I’d rather you didn’t open it right now,” I explained, covering my heavy breathing.

”Oh, is that so? …Understood. I bought cake as thanks for watching the house. Please have some before you go,” she said, satisfied.

 ”Yes,” I answered simply.

Talking to her mother through the door while still inside Chifumi. Chifumi desperately covered her mouth with her hands, struggling to suppress sounds. Her agonizingly tight grip on me continued.

”There’s cake for you too, Chifumi~” her mother added, voice drifting away.

 ”……”

 ”Chifumi?”

”Y, yes. I’m coming, with Minoru,” Chifumi choked out.

”I’ll leave it in the fridge,” her mother said.

 She headed back downstairs.

 ”……”

 ”……(Angry)”

 Crisis averted.

 But a new one started.

”Minoru…(Angry)” Chifumi glared, face flushed with leftover pleasure and fresh irritation.

Still fuming, even with me still inside her.

In this situation, only one answer works.

”Chifumi, one more time,” I said, voice low and teasing.

”Wait!? What stupid thing are you saying!? Hey! Aah…♡♡” Chifumi protested, but her body said otherwise.

I kneaded the inside of her syrupy, melted core with my still-rigid cock.

I already knew her weak points. I had the technique to control her.

”Remember this…♡…later…♡…you’re so terrible…♡” Chifumi threatened, but her voice drowned in sweet gasps.

”Understood. If I finish first, I’ll gladly accept your punishment. But if you finish before me, I get no penalty,” I countered, keeping the game.

”That! That’s a setup where Minoru always wins! Ah…♡ ah…♡♡” she groaned, resolve crumbling again.

In the end, it was quite a while before we went downstairs.

”You two… took quite a while,” her mother noted, voice carrying a knowing weight.

Given the time and our atmosphere, I think she sensed exactly what happened. As we ate cake, she gave us a warning.

”I had my own adventures when I was young, so I understand the urge for excitement, but usually things like that get found out, you know? You two, try to be moderate when you’re outside, okay?” she advised, tone surprisingly gentle.

”Yes…” Chifumi mumbled, eyes fixed on her plate.

”Understood,” I replied, keeping a respectful manner.

Her gaze wasn’t angry — more like watching something endearing. We hurriedly retreated and headed home. As I waited for my bath to fill, Hinoki spoke up.

’We can finally talk, brother,’ Hinoki said, appearing from the darkness.

”Sorry, kept you waiting,” I apologized.

’It’s fine. A hassle unless no one else is around,’ they replied, voice cool.

Aberrations emerged from my expanded shadow.

Hinoki, Tempura, Clam, Rei, Kaname, Gassa, and the newly subdued Mannequin (provisional).

 A round-table conference. A few were absent.

 ’About the newcomer,’ Hinoki initiated.

 ”Yeah,” I confirmed.

Hinoki was also new, but they could communicate with the Aberrations, so I made them facilitator. These meetings started recently. Only possible because Hinoki was here.

Led by Hinoki, the doll — about the size of a beautiful girl figure — walked over with a clatter.

First, I asked the question bothering me.

”Is it really okay for a Floor boss to follow me around?” I asked.

’…It delegated authority to the middle-layer boss. The shallow-layer boss will be replaced. No problem,’ Hinoki interpreted.

 Is that how it works…?

I hold dungeon master authority too, but I haven’t explored dungeon management deeply. Too many other things to do.

”For now… what can you actually do?” I asked the doll.

’…Spying by pretending to be a doll, infiltrating enemy territory — leave that to them. Combat ability is basically zero, don’t expect much,’ Hinoki relayed.

Tedious having the conversation through Hinoki, but it couldn’t be helped.

Watching the doll snap a salute, I considered its abilities. Hmm. Useful, I guess?

”You used fire, earth, and lightning sorcery, right? What about that?” I asked.

’…Only possible with the power in the stone. That’s impossible now,’ Hinoki replied.

 ”What about becoming invincible?”

 ’…That side is doable.’

”Is the condition for invincibility… blinking?” I pressed.

’…Correct, but even without the Binding Vow of blinking, the ‘immobile’ Binding Vow gives enough hardness for everyday use,’ Hinoki translated.

 A bit disappointing…

”Where did you get Hinoki’s stone?” I asked.

’…I don’t know. It was embedded in me when I fought a sorcerer who came to clear the dungeon,’ Hinoki relayed.

 ”Embedded?” I repeated.

’…They stopped me in torso form and jammed it in. That made me like that,’ the doll conveyed.

”Embedding items in a boss? That guy sounds suspicious. …Was it an experiment because it was a weak boss? When was this?” I mused.

’…A long time ago. I don’t know exactly,’ Hinoki answered.

”Unknown. If I knew the timing, I could check dungeon entry records for who it was,” I noted.

Hinoki, who had been interpreting, spoke their own thoughts.

’We never found a piece of my power on the market, did we?’ Hinoki reminded me.

”Yeah. We had Tatemiya and the Head house members check the back-alley goods, but no trace. To think it was here of all places,” I said, feeling a chill.

Hinoki dived back into the shadow and came out with the stone in their mouth.

”Has that stone also been altered, like the one given to Clam?” I asked.

’Yeah. It was inside the doll a long time. If you’re going to use this stone, it should be on the doll,’ Hinoki advised.

”If we can use the mannequin state’s power, that’s a huge boost in combat strength. Hinoki, you don’t mind?” I asked.

 ’It’s fine,’ they agreed.

I took the stone and tried to give it to the doll. It stepped back.

’…It feels bad, so it doesn’t want to,’ Hinoki interpreted.

”Hey, hey… Hinoki, can’t you do something?” I asked.

’Well, not impossible,’ they replied, a devious glint in their eyes.

Hinoki put the stone in their mouth and exerted force, cracking it.

A small fragment broke off. Hinoki crushed it finely and swallowed, then handed me the larger piece.

”What did you do?” I asked.

’A little handiwork. Removed the parts poisonous to an Aberration. This should be fine,’ they explained.

”Hmm. Let’s try it,” I said, offering the stone.

I brought the stone toward the doll, which crept closer. It melted into the doll’s body.

The doll swelled, transforming back into the life-sized mannequin from our fight.

I felt a sense of joy from it. It posed randomly, expressing its mood. A muscular pose means a good mood?

 ’Looks okay,’ Hinoki observed.

”Alright, let’s go with this for now. As for our rules… Tempura, teach them,” I directed.

 The shrimp twitched.

”The second one after Clam. Sorry for the burden,” I said to the Aberrations.

 ’…Understood,’ Hinoki relayed.

 The meeting ended.

The Aberrations returned to their water tank (bed).

The doll shrank back to figure size and sank into the tank where Tempura and Clam waited. At the bottom, the doll sat seiza-style in front of the shrimp next to the large clams — a sight only found in our home.

Later, right before sleep, I peeked and saw Tempura and the others still interacting in the tank. Every time the pincers moved, the doll nodded, and the shells clicked.

This was the standard process for my Aberrations.

 Summary:

The protagonist clears the “Commercial District” dungeon floor boss with a team and meets with Komoda and Shoji at the exit. After settling matters with Shoji, the group celebrates with karaoke, where they exchange information regarding the boss’s mechanics and rare drops. The protagonist later returns to Chifumi’s house, where a surprise invitation from her mother leads to an intimate moment in her bedroom. The situation shifts toward the unresolved potential of their private encounter.

Minoru and Chifumi share an intimate moment that is nearly interrupted by the unexpected return of Chifumi’s mother. They manage to deceive the mother through a closed door, though the tension pushes their physical response to a peak. Following the encounter, Minoru returns home to conduct a meeting with his Aberrations, where he integrates a new mannequin-like entity into his group using an altered stone. The scene concludes with the Aberrations settling into their habitat, leaving the protagonist to prepare for the final chapters of the fourth arc.
