So, we sat down and I explained everything about the situation again.
I covered the part about coming from Japan, the powers of the Quester, the Resource Points, the Ego Points, and even the grim detail about my limited lifespan.
Cleonora listened with intense curiosity to every detail.
”I see now… you possess immense power, so I suspected there would be some kind of price for it. But to think it was in exchange for a lifespan of less than a month…” she mused.
”Well, the lifespan issue is easy! Emerald just needs to have s*x with Shou every day, ne—!” Ami-chan chirped.

”Since the Magical Girls are a power that originates with me, naturally, all sorts of things involve Ego Points.”
”Specifically, what is affected by them?” Cleonora asked, ever the pragmatist.
”First, they’re consumed during the transformation,” Ami-chan confirmed, with a shrug of her voice.
According to Ami-chan, Ego Points are consumed when a woman who has formed a pact transforms into a Magical Girl.
However, unlike the Maids, once the transformation is complete, they don’t constantly drain points just to maintain the form.
”So, if I don’t keep saving up Ego Points, a Magical Girl won’t be able to transform in the first place…” I surmised.
”That’s right! Now, you might be thinking, ‘Why not just stay in that form all the time?’ but there are conditions that will forcefully cancel a Magical Girl’s transformation.”
”What?” I flinched, recognizing a major flaw.
”First, when she suffers massive damage. Also, if she loses consciousness, the transformation is canceled. This includes sleep.” Ami-chan revealed.
While a Magical Girl can unleash immense power compared to her pre-transformation state, it seems she can’t maintain that power indefinitely.
It’s impossible for her to remain active without ever sleeping, and this means she can’t even take a nap without reverting.
”Also, the transformation cancels if her Magic Power is completely exhausted. By the way, Emerald, how much Magic Power do you have left right now?”
”Let’s see… I think I’m under half,” Eme-chan replied, shaking her light green hair. Childish cute indeed.
”But having spent the whole day in this form, I can tell you this: I possess about five times the Magic Power of a First-Class Sorcerer.” Eme-chan explained.
”Is that… a big deal?” I asked.
”Yes, it is. The Emmeld Kingdom has more superior Sorcerers than other nations, and some high-ranking ones are called Gurus¹. But a Magical Girl’s Magic Power easily surpasses even those Gurus.”
I don’t really understand what a Sorcerer is like in this world. But it seems a Magical Girl is categorized as an anomalous being, even by the standards of those who wield Magic Power.
For one thing, no existing Sorcerer can actually fly, apparently.
Yet Eme-chan flew constantly, used sorcery², and swung her sword to defeat demon monsters.
Despite constantly consuming Magic Power, she’s only dropped to about half.
That level of consumption would take even a high-ranking Sorcerer several days to recover from.
”Well, the techniques she’s been using are probably low-consumption sorcery² to begin with. Full-blown attack magic would drain Magic Power incredibly fast, duh!” Ami-chan interjected.
”In any case, the Magical Girl’s strength is truly incredible. If you had five of them, couldn’t you conquer a small country?” Eme-chan marveled.
”Well, I’d prefer that strength be used to develop the Dominion and deal with your pursuers, Ami-chan,” I pointed out.
Given such immense power, it seems best to gather more of them. I don’t have any means to fight other than my Water Splendor Flash and I must protect myself in this dangerous world. I think the fact that I no longer have to worry about my lifespan is a huge factor in this selfish thought.
”Even though Magical Girls are that powerful, Shou’s Quester Level going up will increase their base stats too!” Ami-chan announced.
”It does?”
”Yep. So, helping with the Dominion’s development also means increasing the Magical Girl’s power.”
She’d also mentioned that my weapon would evolve, which seems to be connected to the Quester Level as well.
”And! By consuming a huge amount of Ego Points, you can temporarily boost an arbitrary Magical Girl’s stats!” Ami-chan revealed.
”Meaning… she’d become even stronger than she is now?”
”That’s the idea! But the consumption is seriously no joke. If you tried it with the points you have right now, you wouldn’t be able to apply the boost at all,” she chuckled.
That’s incredible. I thought I’d earned a substantial number of points last night, but it seems I’m still nowhere near enough.
”Ami. If her Magic Power runs out and the transformation is canceled… how can she transform again?” Cleonora asked, ever practical.
”Re-transformation is impossible until her Magic Power is Max Recovered. Also, if the transformation breaks from massive damage, half of her remaining Magic Power is erased. In that case, too, she’ll need a Max Recovery before transforming again.” Ami-chan stated.
”Max Recovery… about how long does that take?” I pressed.
”The recovery speed varies by individual, but full recovery from zero takes at least three days. It could take up to ten days for some.”
What the… it seems the supposedly invincible Magical Girl has a major weakness.
Essentially, once the transformation is canceled, there’s an intermission before she can transform again. Getting attacked during that time would be disastrous.
If the transformation is broken by major damage or sleep, the days until Max Recovery will be fewer. But if it runs out of Magic Power completely, the next transformation will take a very long time.
”It probably won’t run out of Magic Power that easily, but it would be a huge problem if it did,” Eme-chan worried, carefully assessing the risks. It’s only natural for her to seriously consider how to best utilize the strength she’d just gained.
”But wait, there’s an easy way to fully restore a Magical Girl’s Magic Power!” Ami-chan suddenly cheered.
”Huh?”
”The answer is simple! Receiving the Quester’s essence… which is to say, being creampied!” Ami-chan announced.
