Just remembering it made my chest feel hot.
I wanted to get out of this weird little shop and run straight to the Bunny Lounge.
The thought made me smile. But Kohina-senpai saw the look on my face and frowned.
”I don’t know what you’re thinking, but get inside already!!”
”Wait a sec—!”
Before I could finish, she shoved both hands into my chest and started pushing me toward the back of the store.
Seriously. What kind of joke shop did I walk into? If I could go back in time, I’d punch my past self in the face before he stepped through the door.
You were supposed to head to the Bunny Lounge on Main Street, remember? Not this shady side-road nightmare.
Today was Flat-Chest Day, too. The Bunny Lounge girls wear those tight bunny outfits where you can see everything through the little gaps in the fabric. You could play cabbage games with girls who didn’t even try to cover up.
And here I was… stuck doing “acorn play” with Koguma-senpai.
What the hell am I doing with my life?
Slam!
Kohina-senpai dropped a massive mug onto the table. It was full of some dark, sticky liquid.
”What is this? Your special acorn coffee?”
”Who said it’s acorn coffee!? It’s just regular coffee!!”
I took a sip and instantly regretted it. It burned. It was hot like lava and tasted like caffeine straight from the devil’s pot.
Strong didn’t even begin to cover it. My brain went numb. My stomach turned.
She’s trying to kill me. I just know it.
To change the subject, I pointed at the door.
”So uh… Kohina-senpai, what is this place? There’s no sign out front…”
”What!? That can’t be true. I’ll go check. You just sit there and drink what I made for you!!”
She stormed off, leaving me alone with the Death Brew.
Maybe I could water it down a little…
I didn’t want to waste it—she did make it for me. But still, this stuff could probably melt metal.
I drank what I could.
By the time she came back, my stomach felt like it had expanded two sizes from all the water I’d used to dilute it.
”I’m sorry… There really wasn’t a sign,” she said with an awkward look.
She held up a small signboard.
Wait, what? “Herb Shop”?
Isn’t that the name of Emily’s weird apothecary place?
Is this a front? Like, one of those “herb” places that sells… not-so-legal herbs?
I stared at the sign, not sure what to believe.
Kohina-senpai sat down on the sofa and patted her lap.
”Come on, lie down. I’ll take you to heaven.”
That… sounded threatening.
I narrowed my eyes. This had to be a trap. The moment I put my head down, she was going to knock me out or choke me.
I could feel it.
But before I could escape, somehow… my head was already resting on her lap.
No! I’ve been tricked by my own dirty thoughts!
Even knowing it was a trap, I still lost to my instincts as a man!
That’s not fair. She used the one move no man could resist!
”There, there,” she said softly, patting my head.
She started playing with her phone at the same time.
Wait a minute. What kind of shop is this? Is this really the service?
I looked up at her with a confused face.
”What?” she asked.
”Uh, I mean, it’s just that… um…”
She clicked her tongue and glared.
”Say what you want to say already! I keep telling you—use your words! Come on, spit it out!”
Hold on.
Isn’t this supposed to be a place where the customer relaxes?
Why am I getting yelled at by my server?
Maybe I really should’ve gone to the Bunny Lounge after all…
”…Isn’t it kind of rude to be on your phone while serving someone?”
”Huh!? I was placing an order for the next part of your service! You can see I’m the only one working here! So stop whining! Apparently, part-time helper Emily ran away on the first day, and Akocchi never even showed up.”
No wonder this place was empty.
”Anyway,” she said, sighing. “While we wait for your order to come in, I’ll clean your ears. Turn your head to the side.”
