Volume 13 Chapter 341 Shirogane Aqua, Their Final Day The Idol’s Bold Confessions and Grand Romantic Gestures
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Their Final Day.
The dating reality show had finally arrived at its last morning.
Normally, the schedule dictated that I, Shirogane Aqua, would be called out one by one by each participant to receive their confessions.
However, the producer called me first, and I found myself with Kohina-senpai and the others, receiving an explanation about the show’s structure and this final day.
”For the ending, you must face all five ladies and choose whose confession you will accept. Of course, you are also free to choose to reject all of them.”
I nodded silently to the producer’s explanation.
According to the producer, this show was part of a larger campaign to promote the big matchmaking event scheduled for Christmas. Therefore, whether I accepted a confession or not wasn’t the main priority. The show’s staff would successfully build hype and create a great commercial tie-in regardless of my choice, so I was told to do whatever I wanted.
Do whatever I wanted…
If that was the case, then there wouldn’t be any issue with me doing what I wanted for the finale. Having received Haa-chan’s passionate feelings, I solidified my resolve.
The Shirogane Aqua that everyone wanted—the idol Shirogane Aqua—wasn’t the kind of person to end things with a predictable outcome or let things fade into a comfortable compromise!
”In that case, could we change the flow for the finale? What if I call out each person individually instead?”
””Huh?”” The producer and Hakuryuu-sensei were stunned, but beside them, Kohina-senpai wore a face that clearly said, ‘Oh, it’s him again,’ while Toa, who was clearly used to this kind of situation, didn’t even look surprised—he just yawned.
”Is there anyone here who has ever been in love?” I asked.
Though surprised by my question, everyone except Toa and Kohina-senpai nodded.
”When you’re in love, every day is exciting. The mundane everyday life shines brightly, and just their presence lights up your whole world, making your daily life feel completely fulfilled.”
Of course, love isn’t just fun. There are hardships, too, and difficult times. On days when your feelings aren’t reciprocated or don’t reach them, the world right in front of you can look utterly black. But I want people to first experience what it’s like to fall in love.
”I really want more men in the world to fall in love. I want them to experience that thrilling, heart-pounding sensation of romance!”
The wedding¹ I attended recently with Reira-san, Hamada-san’s ceremony… it was so wonderful! If Hamada-san hadn’t been brave enough to take action and move forward, that happy future would never have arrived. But because Hamada took that step, both he and Akitsu-san found happiness. That’s why I want to see the men take that first step.
”Therefore, I will be doing the confessing!”
I want to see even one more person find happiness. Plus, I thought that by confessing myself, I could give a push to all the men out there who are thinking about confessing.
”I knew Aqua would say that, though,” Kanon declared happily.
”As expected, Aqua-sama!” Emily chirped, also nodding with pleasure.
Thank you. Because the two of you support me like this, I feel like I can soar wherever your wings take me.
”Well, I figured you’d do something like that,” Kohina-senpai muttered, casually chewing. “Chomp, chomp.”
”Mhm, yep,” Toa mumbled, mouth full. “Munch, munch.”
Hang on! Toa and Kohina-senpai, why are you both just casually opening up your box lunches?! You two, stop eating so relaxedly and actually listen to me! Emily and I, both feeling our own hunger pangs, quickly secured our own box lunches. First, we need to fuel up before the big battle.
As we all ate our lunch, Emily turned to Ai, who was next to her.
”Huh? Hakuryuu-sensei, aren’t you going to eat your lunch?”
”No, I… I kind of lost my appetite, ha ha,” Ai replied weakly.
I wondered if Ai was alright. For the past few days, every time I came here, she was slumped over in her chair, looking utterly defeated. I told her not to push herself if she was tired or unwell, but Ai is such a hard worker that she’d been watching us without rest for the entire duration of the project while awake. Thank you, Ai. To repay your honesty and sincerity, I’ll give this my absolute best, from beginning to end! I hope you watch me!
With my fighting spirit reignited, I headed back to the share house where everyone was waiting.

# Haa-chan’s Perspective
Finally, the morning of the final day was here.
One week of the dating reality show was coming to an end. Papa had promised to see Haa as a girl in her own right, but I didn’t know what would happen after the show finished. I tossed and turned in bed, weighed down by my anxiety. Ah, how should I confess to him in the end…? The worry had kept me from sleeping all night.
”…Is it my turn yet?” I whispered.
As I pondered, I heard a knock on my door. It was time. The plan was for a staff sister to let me know when it was my turn to confess. I got out of bed and slowly opened the door to my room. However, an unexpected person was standing there.
”Haa-chan, I’ve come for your time. Would you give me a moment to speak with you?”
Pa… Papa is just too cool. The boldness of demanding my time first makes my heart thump, but then he follows up by politely asking for permission—that’s just wonderful. Wait, what? Hold on a second. I thought we were supposed to call him out, and he was the one who was supposed to be called? Had the plan changed without me knowing? I was utterly confused by the unexpected turn of events.
”Y-yes, please!”
”Thank you, Haa-chan.”
I took Papa’s hand, and we walked out of the share house together.
”Haa-chan, are you cold?” he murmured.
”I-I’m fine. I made sure to bundle up warmly!”
I glanced at my reflection in the glass. This ear-hooded coat, I bought it to match Fi-chan’s, but was it a little too childish? No, that wasn’t the issue… I looked at the height difference between myself and Papa in the reflection and felt a little down. No matter how much I try to look grown up, from any angle, Papa and I only look like a big brother and his much younger sister.
”Let’s sit over there.”
”Okay.”
We sat on a bench with a great view. Papa looked intently at me, who was looking down, and spoke gently.
”Haa-chan, look at me. Look into my eyes.”
”Y-yes, sir…”
Papa wasn’t wearing the gentle face he usually showed me; he was looking at me with a serious expression, a very masculine look that made my heart pound so hard.
”I told you this before, but I don’t want you to rush, Haa-chan. But I know that when you’re the younger one, it’s easy to feel rushed even when someone tells you not to. I understand, I’ve been in love with someone older than me, too.”
Who was this older sister he liked? No, never mind that… Papa, he really was thinking about me! My heart felt a little fuzzy and warm.
”That’s why, today, to put your mind at ease, I came here to reserve your future.”
”Reserve…?” I tilted my head to the side. Papa nodded with a gentle smile.
”Haa-chan, give me your right hand.”
”Yes.”
I did as Papa asked. He gently took my hand and held it tight.
”Haa-chan. I’ll work hard, okay?”
”Eh?” Work hard at what? Surprised, I looked at Papa’s face.
”Five years, ten years from now, I’m sure you’ll grow into a wonderful girl who won’t lose to any of the older sisters, or the moms², or even the grandmas. Everyone will probably fall in love with you.”
Was he saying that if someone else would do, I should just give up on this love? That he wouldn’t need me? I absolutely hated that idea. My eyes welled up with tears.
”So, for five years, ten years, or even longer than that, I’m going to work hard so that you’ll always feel that you love me.”
”…Huh?”
Papa squeezed my hand tightly.
”Haa-chan, I’ll say it one more time. Let me reserve your future.”
”Eh?” Papa lifted my right hand. Suddenly, a ring I had never seen before was slipped onto my right ring finger.
”Just words wouldn’t be enough to calm your worries, would they? So, I’ll make a vow with this proof. I promise that until the day I put a wedding³ ring on your left ring finger, we will continue to adjust the size of this promise ring on your right hand as you grow older.”
Papa then lightly kissed my right ring finger.
As I thought, Papa is the coolest person in the world. Since that day he helped my second older sister…
”Papa, that’s just unfair!”
”Kanon and Victoria-sama tell me that all the time, too,” he chuckled.
I laughed through my tears at Papa’s words. As I thought, my first and second older sisters know Papa so well.
”Haa-chan, I love you. Will you accept my confession?”
”Yes! There’s no woman alive who could turn that down!” I cried.
I hugged Papa tightly as he lifted me into his arms. All my anxiety from moments ago vanished; my heart was completely clear. Thank you, Papa. No matter how many years pass, Haa will always love you the most.
”Well, I’ll go to see everyone else now.”
”Yes, please do!”
Papa, I hope you make everyone else as happy as you’ve made me. When I stepped into the house next door, my second older sister and Emily-san both hugged me tightly.
”That’s great, Haa!”
”Congratulations, Haa-chan!”
H-hey, Emily-oneesan, you’re suffocating me with your chest! Kohina Yukari-san and Toa were also applauding loudly for me.
”Hakuryuu-sensei!”
”MEDIC!”
Huh? Grandma Mary and Grandma Ranko were here watching? The two of them were shaking the completely white-faced Hakuryuu-sensei in her chair.

# Kuga Reira’s Perspective
Not yet…? Is it still not time?! To be frank, I absolutely hate waiting.
I was pacing circles in my room when someone knocked. C-coming!
”Yes, yes, yes!”
I flung the door open, and there stood Aqua-kun. Huh?! I wasn’t supposed to be calling him out?! I was confused because this was different from what the staff had told me.
”Reira-san. Would you be willing to speak with me? About the future of our relationship?”
I felt a jolt at Aqua-kun’s mature expression. I’m an actress, so I can tell: this wasn’t acting. This was the real Aqua-kun’s face. Sometimes he shows a smile appropriate for his age, but other times he wears a serious face that belongs to an adult. The reason I, Mikuni-sama, Kohina Yukari, and the other actors are so charmed by him, by Shirogane Aqua, is that face he shows when he isn’t performing at all.
”I understand. Wait while I put on my coat.”
I put on my coat and left the share house with Aqua-kun. What on earth was he going to talk about? My excitement escalated. Aqua-kun stopped in a slightly open area and turned back to me with that same serious look.
”Reira-san. I truly believe you are a fascinating woman.”
”Oh, thank you,” I murmured.
Being complimented so directly made my cheeks flush pink. Honestly, no confession scene in any drama could beat this, I thought.
”That’s precisely why I want to know more about you, Reira-san. I want to discover the charming sides of you that I don’t yet know.”
”U-um…”
Wait, what?! You want to know more about me… isn’t that practically a confession already?! I felt myself leaning forward at Aqua-kun’s words. Calm down, Reira! Rihito always told me, “You fail because you can’t keep your cool!”
”I primarily work in Japan, and you primarily work overseas, Reira-san, so I know we won’t be able to meet frequently. And I certainly wouldn’t ask you to change your career focus for our relationship; that’s something you should value. I know you wouldn’t sacrifice your acting for something like that.”
”Ah…!” I nodded emphatically at Aqua-kun’s words.
I wanted a relationship with Aqua-kun, but I wouldn’t twist myself as an actress. I love musicals, and I love those action films over there. So, the places I work will generally be the States and Stars, where the shooting environments are excellent and the theaters are plentiful. Of course, if the environment in Japan, which is rapidly improving, gets better, I might move my focus there. But I won’t change where I work for the sake of a relationship with one actor. I realized that Aqua-kun truly understood me, even this side of me.
”If you’re okay with that, will you give me the time to nurture a relationship with you, Reira-san?”
Aqua-kun slowly took a step closer to me. With every step, my heart went thump, thump.
”I believe I understand that there isn’t much time left in this world… or rather, for women in this world.”
It’s a universal truth in this world: the younger a woman is, the easier it is for her to marry⁴. They say the marriageable age for women is as early as the first half of their teens, and no later than 25. At 28 this year, I’m definitely past the prime age and considered a late bloomer, but I’m not so old that marriage is impossible.
”That’s why I’m not saying this lightly. Even so, will you try dating me?”
He was serious… I could see it just by looking at his face. Seeing Aqua-kun’s earnest expression, I made up my mind.
”Aqua-kun, you don’t have to shoulder so much. I never planned to marry⁵ in the first place, so don’t feel any obligation. If it doesn’t work out, it’s fine for you to leave me!”
”Reira-san…” he breathed.
A man acting so cool for a woman… no, Aqua-kun acting so cool for me—how could a woman like me act cowardly? If anything, I, the older one, should be the one to make a resolution! For Aqua-kun, who was so seriously responding to my feelings, I needed to work even harder to make him like me more!
”Aqua-kun. Please look only at me, without worrying about the age difference. I will also work harder and harder to make you fall in love with me! So, please let’s start this relationship!” I declared.
I reached out my hand directly to Aqua-kun. He took my hand and firmly pulled me into a hug.
”Thank you, Reira-san. You really are so cool. Even though I’m younger, I’m going to work hard so that you see me as cool and dependable, too.”
No, no, no, no! There are no men, even older men, who could do what you just did! And there isn’t a single girl in this world who thinks you aren’t dependable. The face of Kohina Yukari vaguely popped into my head. Wait. She doesn’t count, she’s an exception.
”So, to start things off, I’d love to go for another drive with you, Aqua-kun!”
”Then how about we drive along a scenic coast and go eat some seafood?”
That sounds wonderful! It’s great when your hobbies match. I left Aqua-kun and headed toward the staff house next door.
”Hakuryuu-senseiiiiii!”
”There are still three people left! Hang in there!”
The house was noisy. What was going on? Well, it doesn’t matter. I should at least report the result to Rihito. I took out my phone and messaged Rihito that I was now dating Aqua-kun.

# Inori Hisui’s Perspective
Ultimately, what is love?
I like Aqua-sama, but that feeling seems to be something different from “love.” I reached the final day without understanding the difference.
”Hisui-chan, can I have a word?”
”Ah, Aqua-sama?! Wait, I’m coming out now!” I gasped, surprised by Aqua-sama’s voice, and opened my door. I’d heard a staff member would call for me, so had there been some kind of trouble since Aqua-sama came himself?
When he saw my face, Aqua-sama smiled gently.
”Could I come into your room for a moment?”
”Ah, yes. Of course, you can.”
Aqua-sama entered my room and sat on the edge of the bed I’d been lying on just moments before. …W-what is this? Suddenly, my heart started pounding intensely.
”Here, Hisui-chan, you sit here, too.”
Aqua-sama patted the space next to him. What? I’m supposed to sit on the bed with him? I-is that okay?
Hesitantly, I sat down next to Aqua-sama. Oh, this is making my heart race so much! Why is this happening? Is it because Aqua-sama is in my room? Or is it because we’re sitting so close together on the bed? I was flustered by this unfamiliar, heart-pounding sensation.
”Hisui-chan, do you understand what it means to fall in love yet?”
”…N-no, not yet,” I stammered, unable to look Aqua-sama in the eye. I turned my gaze away.
What was wrong? Aqua-sama today felt… different from the start, somehow.
”Hey, Hisui-chan. Do you dislike it when I touch you?”
”Huh? Oh… I don’t dislike being touched.”
…Though it is a little embarrassing. Aqua-sama placed his palm over the back of my hand, holding it. It was warm… I felt a flutter from the difference between his body temperature and mine.
”If you dislike anything, please tell me right away.”
Holding my hand, Aqua-sama gently touched my hair with his other hand. Then he changed the place he touched: the curve of my ear, my earlobe, my cheek, and my neck. With every touch, my feelings intensified until my mind was overwhelmed. What is this, what is this?! It was so incredibly embarrassing, but at the same time, I wanted him to touch me more. Those conflicting thoughts only confused my mind further.
”Aqua-sama…” I murmured, looking up at him with a dazed expression. I want to be touched more, I thought.
”Hisui-chan… may I kiss you?”
”Eh?!” K-K-K-K-Kiss?! You mean that kind of kiss, right?! Isn’t that something only a boyfriend and girlfriend do? Wait, is it okay to kiss even if we’re not dating…?
”Of course, if you don’t want to, you can refuse, Hisui-chan. But I want to take a step forward with you. I want you to become more aware of me as a man.”
What should I do?! Because he said the word “kiss,” I could only stare at Aqua-sama’s lips.
”U-um… since it’s my first kiss, could you please be gentle?”
”Of course. I won’t take your first kiss with careless feelings, Hisui-chan, so don’t worry.”
My first kiss… In junior high, my friends used to talk excitedly about what a kiss tastes like. I just nodded along, not really knowing… But now, I was about to have my first kiss with Aqua-sama. I stared intently into his eyes. It was so incredibly embarrassing. Slowly, I closed my eyelids.
Then, I felt something soft touch my lips.
”Ah…”
I slowly opened my eyelids and lightly touched my lips with my fingertips. My friends said their first kiss was sweet and sour, but this kiss felt warm, like kindness and reassurance. It wasn’t sweet and sour at all. Instead, it was a sweet, sweet, sweet kiss that felt like my heart was slowly melting.
”Hisui-chan, look closely at my face.”
”Y-yes.” I fully opened my eyes, which had been cast down, and looked directly at Aqua-sama’s face. But immediately, I had to turn away. H-huh? That’s strange? I could look at his face a moment ago, but suddenly I felt shy. And the pounding in my heart wouldn’t stop. If anything, it felt like it was accelerating, making me feel hot deep inside my body.
”I-I’m sorry. I… I feel strange…”
Aqua-sama gently pulled my flustered body into a hug. Wait, that’s going to make my heart squeeze even tighter and pound even faster!
”I’m sorry, Hisui-chan. I pushed you too hard just because I wanted you to be aware of me. But that’s how serious I am.”
Aqua-sama pulled away and looked straight into my eyes. My body… something must be wrong with it. I feel so nervous that I want to look away from Aqua-sama, yet I’m so excited that I can’t look away.
”Hisui-chan. Would you like to try falling in love with me?”
”Me, with Aqua-sama…”
I didn’t know what love was. But if I was going to fall in love, I wanted it to be with Aqua-sama. I wanted Aqua-sama to teach me about love. I decided that if I was going to fall in love, it had to be with Aqua-sama. So…
”Yes. I want to learn what love is with you, Aqua-sama.”
”Thank you, Hisui-chan!”
Aqua-sama hugged my body tightly. Ugh, my heart won’t stop pounding! Maybe this is an illness. After separating from Aqua-sama, I went to the staff house where the medical staff were.
”Go, go, go! You can do it!”
”Even still, with Hakuryuu-sensei! Hakuryuu-sensei can still dance!”
Everyone was holding the hands of the reclining Hakuryuu-sensei, cheering her on. What happened? I-is she okay? A smiling staff member nearby told me, “It’s just a comedy sketch, don’t worry,” and led me to the real medical staff.

# Tsukasa Kei / Sakura Keito’s Perspective
What should I do? The final day is here, and I haven’t made any progress. At times like these, escaping into writing a novel is the best choice. I was writing a novel to pass the time when someone knocked on my door.
”Keito, are you there?”
”Ah! U-um!” I reacted to Aqua-kun’s voice and opened the door. There stood Aqua-kun with a serious expression.
”Keito, I want to talk about our future. Is that alright?”
”U-um. Okay.”
I put on my outer garment and left the share house with Aqua-kun. What kind of talk would this be about our future? W-was it going to be a rejection, a talk about how he couldn’t date me? I felt tears welling up as I anticipated the inevitable defeat.
”Keito, how was this past week for you?”
”W-well, it was fun. I got to be friends with everyone, too.”
I smiled, remembering the fun times. Getting close to Aqua-kun was great, but becoming friends with everyone else was a huge bonus. Hehe, I even exchanged contact info! I wondered if it was okay to send messages as a friend, or if they’d think I was annoying.
”With everyone? What about with me?” Aqua-kun looked intently at my face.
Wait, don’t look at me with such a cool expression all of a sudden; it’s embarrassing.
”I felt like I wanted to know more and more about Keito, the person, not just Tsukasa Kei.”
The me that isn’t Tsukasa Kei… Tsukasa Kei is almost my entire life. Sakura Keito’s life is just a dull college student with connections only to her family. But Aqua-kun said he wanted to know me as Sakura Keito, not as Tsukasa Kei.
”I hope you feel the same way about me…”
”W-wait…” I started to speak but stopped myself. Is this okay? Unlike Tsukasa Kei, Sakura Keito is an uninteresting person. What if Aqua-kun found me boring after he got to know me?
”I…” The smiling face of Hakuryuu-sensei, who sent me here, flashed in my mind. No! I can’t give up here! I couldn’t face Hakuryuu-sensei if I chickened out now! Besides, I hated the idea of remaining my timid, withdrawn self. I clenched my fists tighter and looked straight into Aqua-kun’s eyes.
”I want to know more and more about you, too, Aqua-kun!”
Aqua-kun smiled kindly at my answer.
”Keito. Will you date me? So we can learn more about each other.”
”Eh? What?!” I was bewildered by Aqua-kun’s reverse confession. T-this wasn’t supposed to be the losing event, was it?! Honestly, I thought I’d only been called as a number filler.
”It’s okay. You don’t have to decide right away. I’ll match your speed, Keito.”
No! If I do that, nothing will change! I felt like I would just become useless if I relied on Aqua-kun, just like I rely on Yuka-nee and my sister. So, I had to decide. Right here, right now! I stared intently at Aqua-kun’s face.
”No, I’ll date you! You don’t have to match my speed! I will catch up to your speed, Aqua-kun!”
”Thank you, Keito.”
Aqua-kun hugged me, pulling me gently into his embrace. I did it, Yuka-nee! U-i! And Hakuryuu-sensei!
”Then, I look forward to our time together, Keito.”
”Likewise. I look forward to it, too.”
I parted from Aqua-kun and headed towards the staff house next door to report to Hakuryuu-sensei, who had recommended me.
”Hakuryuu-sensei, Hakuryuu-sensei is standing!”
”That’s our Hakuryuu-sensei!”
When I entered the share house, Hakuryuu-sensei, Mary-sama, and Fuji Ranko-san were having some kind of lively moment. Um, were they filming a comedy sketch? I watched the three of them from the shadows, trying not to interrupt, when Hakuryuu-sensei noticed me and rushed over to hug me.
”That’s wonderful, Tsukasa-sensei!”
”H-Hakuryuu-sensei! Thank youuuuu!”
I hugged Hakuryuu-sensei, sharing the joy. Sensei, thank you so much!

##Sumeragi Kukuri’s Perspective
I suppose it’s my turn last, given the time? I was thinking that when a staff member came to call me.
”Thank you for your hard work. Um, I’m sorry, but could you please come outside?”
”Yes, I understand.”
One week of the dating reality show was finally ending. My ideal scenario was to confess to Aqua-sama, who would then give a vague, gentle rejection. I was thinking such a lukewarm thought, having forgotten who I was dealing with—the one and only Aqua-sama.
”Kukuri-chan, do you trust me?”
When I stepped outside, not only Aqua-sama but the entire staff and all the other cast members were waiting for me. What on earth was the meaning of this? I stared intently at Aqua-sama’s face.
”Of course. I always trust you, Aqua-senpai.”
”Thank you, Kukuri-chan.”
No matter the circumstances, I trust Aqua-sama. Just like all the other women who love you.
”Then, let’s talk about just the two of us.”
Aqua-sama, wearing a look of firm resolve, slowly took one step, then another, toward me. What is this? I felt a slight sense of unease. Aqua-sama embraced me, holding that very anxiety.
”It’s alright. I’ll take care of everything you might find bothersome.”
”Eh?”
Aqua-sama kissed my lips, then pointed a finger directly at the camera.
”Listen closely. I don’t care if you’re Japanese or foreign! I don’t care who you are, if you try to lay a hand on this woman—she is mine—I’ll take down every single one of you! Any of you with superfluous thoughts, you better be prepared!”
Huh…? H-H-H-H-H-HIS WOMAN?! That declaration from Aqua-sama completely blew away all my current plans and any future plans I’d made…
—
Summary:
The finale of the intense reality dating show takes a dramatic turn when the male idol, Shirogane Aqua, refuses to be confessed to and instead decides to initiate a reverse confession to each of the women. In a series of unforgettable, intimate moments, he secures Haa-chan’s future with a promise ring, honors Kuga Reira’s acting career while starting a long-distance relationship, initiates a sweet first kiss to help Inori Hisui understand love, encourages Tsukasa Kei (Sakura Keito) to embrace her true self in a courageous commitment, and finally, in a grand, public gesture, claims Sumeragi Kukuri as his woman with a possessive warning to all his admirers.
The emotional toll of these bold romantic gestures leaves the staff, especially Hakuryuu-sensei, completely overwhelmed. This climactic ending is a testament to Aqua’s charismatic, unpredictable, and deeply sincere nature, setting the stage for complex future relationships.
—
Character Insight:
Shirogane Aqua’s character is defined by his profound sense of responsibility toward the women in his life, driven by the unique gender ratio of his world. His decision to confess first wasn’t just a dramatic reality show twist; it was an act of sincere empathy, wanting men everywhere to feel the thrill of romance and to encourage them to take action.
His approach to each woman is specifically tailored—a long-term vow of commitment for the anxious Haa-chan, respect for career and maturity for the confident Kuga Reira, a gentle introduction to physical intimacy for the timid Hisui, a fierce defense of personal identity for Tsukasa Kei (Keito), and a shocking, public display of possessive affection for the composed Sumeragi Kukuri. He is not just an idol; he is a man determined to be a force for happiness and change.
—
Behind the Scene:
The production team’s initial plan for the final day—a conventional confession format—was entirely disrupted by Aqua’s impulsive, self-directed ‘reverse confession.’ This spontaneous change required the staff to scramble and re-route the entire finale on the fly.
The dramatic reactions of side characters like Hakuryuu-sensei, Mary, and Fuji Ranko, who repeatedly collapsed or called for medics, were a direct result of the intense, unpredictable emotional waves caused by Aqua’s increasingly dramatic and successful confessions, highlighting the extreme emotional investment of those around him. Kohina and Toa’s nonchalant eating served as a humorous anchor, suggesting they are the only ones truly used to Aqua’s chaotic nature.

T/L:
1. The term used is Yui-konshiki (結Yui婚式), which links the concept of kekkon (結婚 – marriage) with the specific character yui (結 – tie, connect, bind), often used here to emphasize the deep bond and connection rather than just the legal status. ↩
2. Okaa-san (おかあさん – mom/mother). ↩
3. The term used is Yui-kon yubiwa (結Yui婚指輪), again using yui (結) to specifically designate the marriage/vow ring. ↩
