Volume 3 Chapter 6 Risa-San’s Moe Elements

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

It seems that Risa-san had a long discussion with Yuki-san. And just like during the summer event, she decided to stay here.

Just hearing that might make it seem like a conversation that could end in 5 minutes, but they must have talked about other things as well.

If you are worried about the psychological damage, or losing your sense of purpose and dignity as a normal lover (man), then you should never ask them about anything else they talked about.

All I would be confronted with is the reality that “men other than my 2D hobby boys are unnecessary in my private life.” Risa-san could live without a guy like me. There’s no way to change that.

This morning, Risa-san, who had eaten toast topped with “apple confiture-like” spread that she made overnight and had salad, was in an even better mood than usual while drinking milk tea.

”Shuu, please take care of the ‘home bar’! I’ll be in your care for 3 days!”

Risa-san presented an envelope and bowed her head as if she were deeply grateful.

 ”Is it from Friday dinner?”

 ”Yeah! Until Sunday breakfast.”

It seems she doesn’t need lunch on Saturday, so that’s 4 meals… The plan is to only prepare alcohol for Saturday night. Since home drinking is different from what can be prepared at a bar, I wonder what kind of alcohol would be good to prepare…

Maybe I should ask the owner.

When I received the envelope with money in it, it was already time to leave the house, so I just put it in my school bag for now.

Since I might be asked about the budget when I ask the owner, I decided to check the contents of the envelope on my way from school to my part-time job. There were 5 ten-thousand yen bills inside.

 (This is…)

Is Risa-san expecting a lot? Or is she saying I should use better ingredients than what I usually eat? The amount of money prepared became a pressure.

Even though I only told the owner that I wanted to ask about “home drinking cocktails,” for some reason, I was misunderstood as practicing making cocktails at home. “You’ve got the build and stir down, so next is shake, right?” I was even given specific imaginary practice content. He looked so happy talking about it that I couldn’t say, “That’s not it.”

The owner, still misunderstanding, kindly stopped me as I was finishing my part-time job and offered me the practice tools he had been using. Apparently, he does this for everyone who works at the bar and shows interest in cocktails.

(I only need a bar spoon, though.)

Thinking that internally, I thanked him and accepted the whole set of tools. However, I had no plans to shake a cocktail for home drinking.

If I were to make cocktails that would interfere with the conversation of those 2 girls, it would defeat the purpose of stopping the outside drinking and having them drink at home.

I’m determined to remain inconspicuous like a wall, not joining the conversation, and just listening to the content of their talk.

I’m preparing for Friday’s dinner starting tonight, so after my part-time job, I stopped by a supermarket near my house to buy ingredients.

 (Huh? Is that Risa-san…?)

After finishing my shopping and exiting the store, I saw a suspicious-looking Risa-san getting on the escalator and heading down to the men’s fashion floor.

(Why on earth is Risa-san in the men’s section?)

Risa-san’s outfit for work consists of a tunic that hides her figure and comfortable pants. However, none of those clothes are found in men’s stores.

It’s clear she didn’t come to look for clothes for herself. From a distance, I watched Risa-san’s actions and saw her holding black skinny jeans and a white button-down shirt.

It’s definitely not her size. If she buys those, she moved to a different floor with a flustered look.

 (A Scandinavian kitchenware store?)

Has she finally developed an interest in cooking…? I thought for a moment, but she passed by the cooking utensils area without looking. Then she stopped at the place with sommelier aprons.

She picked up several and was intently checking the length of the hems. It seemed like she was trying to suppress a grin. She didn’t notice the store clerk approaching from behind.

Suddenly, when she was called out, Risa-san hurriedly grabbed the longest black sommelier apron, bowed her head slightly, and took it to the register.

(Her behavior… is like a small animal that’s not used to people.)

I waited for her to come out of the store and called, “Risa-san.”

”Eh… eh!? Shuu? Why are you here?”

”Just got off work. I saw you going into the mall…”

”W-What? You saw me going in? That means… from the moment I started buying at the first store!?”

”Yeah, I thought it was rare for you to go to a men’s store.”

 ”Y-You saw everything!?”

When I nodded, Risa-san exclaimed, “Ah!” looking flustered. It seemed she didn’t want me to see her shopping. But why? It was just normal shopping.

”If you saw everything… you must have figured it out, right?”

 ”Figured out what?”

 ”Um… what I bought…”

 ”Men’s clothes and an apron?”

 ”That’s true, but… that’s not it! It’s what’s in my head!”

No, there’s no way I could know that. Asking me to deduce what she was thinking based on what she bought is just unreasonable.

In the end, I couldn’t answer, and after getting home, Risa-san gave me a present, helping me understand the “true meaning” of this shopping trip.
