Menhera Guy V4c3

Volume 4 Chapter 3 Encounter

The next day, Risa-san went to the hospital for her residency interview.

She said she would join the morning conference for the program she wanted, then have the interview, and after that, a tour of the hospital. She would even have lunch with the hospital staff, so it was going to take the whole day.

She would probably be back around 4 or 5 PM.

(What should I do all day?)

I hadn’t decided where to go yet, but I wanted to buy a present for Risa-san.

I needed to find a Christmas gift to thank her for the coat she got me, but I had to figure out what to get before leaving the hotel. It would be tough to walk around in this cold without a plan.

Since we’re getting married, I didn’t want to just get her a ring. I didn’t know her ring size, and I had never seen her wear any jewelry.

I heard that some people don’t even wear wedding rings, so it’s better for us to talk about it together.

If I’m going to live here, it’s going to get colder, and I’ll need some everyday items and supplies. I should buy something that’s useful for Risa-san, something she uses often, and that won’t be a hassle to carry.

The more I thought about it, the more confused I got. Stuck on what to do, I decided to look it up on my phone.

(I wonder if there’s a good store nearby without having to go all the way to East Village.)

I found a pharmacy that looked promising. They had displays of bikes and skeleton models, so it seemed like a place a guy could go alone without any issues. I heard they even have stores in Japan.

I couldn’t bring my hair wax, gel, or skincare cream, so I needed to get those here anyway, which worked out perfectly. The store opens at 10 AM, so I still had some time.

I decided to kill time at a coffee shop.

I ended up in a coffee shop chain that I often saw in Japan. Maybe because it felt familiar, I noticed a few Japanese tourists around.

They had a limited-time menu, so I ordered from that, and for some reason, they asked for my name. When I got my order, they called out “Shuu.”

”So your name is Shuu,” the barista said.

With all the English and noise around me, that Japanese sounded super clear. I turned to see who said it.

It was the woman who had talked to me at the airport gate and gave me her business card, sitting at a table.

 ”Oh, um… thanks.”

I remembered getting her card, but I couldn’t recall her name. I just smiled awkwardly and nodded a little.
