I swung Ray Blade at the enemies──otherworld monsters──throwing blows and cutting them down.
But no matter how many I kill, more keep coming, swarming from all directions.
”Gathered mana! Become the wind and crush those foes! Gale Wind!!”
A compressed gust of wind slammed into the approaching monsters, making loud crashes.
Their bodies flattened and exploded──one after the other, they fell from the sky.
”Come on! Bring it on, all of you!”
I dodge a sneaky talon swipe from a hawk jump, then cut its feathers and kick it away.
While checking the surroundings, I see the Black Dragon Clan spread out around me.
They’re closing in on the monsters attacking from all sides──pushing them toward me.
”If this keeps up, Delprius will snatch all the glory. Guess I’d better step up and show I can do something!”
I lock onto each of the monsters gathering in front of me──one by one.
Forty… Fifty… a hundred… 2 hundred… 5 hundred…
Maybe I’ve pushed my limit──time to finish this!
Using most of my remaining magic power, I start the spell.
”Mana inside me! Become countless Fire Arrows and pierce through my enemies! ‘Rush Fire Arrow’!”
I unleash a powerful Fire Arrow at all locked-on enemies at once.
Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!
Fire Arrows burst out so brightly, they light up the daytime sky.
They roar toward the monsters, attacking like living creatures.
The targeted Fire Arrows sense danger and speed up──chasing fleeing monsters with incredible speed.
When they catch up, the arrows pierce the monsters’ bodies and explode, making them vanish.
Five hundred Fire Arrows blasted out, hitting the ‘another world monsters’ one after another.
They pierced the armor, exploding in a shower of sparks, like fireworks in the daytime sky.
”Hmph. Not even a warm-up.”
After blowing away 5 hundred ‘another world monsters’, I reached for a magic recovery potion.
It was in my pouch, ready to restore the magic I’d used.
I popped the top and gulped it down.
”Phew! That hits the spot!”
”Father!! I told you to be bait! Why are you smashing the enemies?!”
Delprius was yelling at me from behind, as I watched the ‘another world monsters’ explode. I was still drinking my potion.
”Uh, well… I wanted to get in on the action, and the enemies were all gathered up…”
”You idiot! Because of you, the ‘another world monsters’ are gone! I was going to take them all out in one blow!”
”Eh!? Oh, right… Sorry.”
Getting chewed out by my daughter really killed my mood.
My fighting spirit plummeted.
Being scolded by my own daughter… Living too long isn’t worth it… Ugh, this sucks.
”Father!! If you’re going to sulk, then eat more enemies! Change of plans, you’re taking responsibility for them!”
Delprius nudged me in the back with her nose.
I was shoved forward, right in front of the ‘another world monsters’ that the Black Dragon Clan had herded together.
”Whoa!? Are you trying to kill your own father?!”
”The father I know could handle these enemies with one hand.”
”Tch, if my daughter says so, I’ll do it!!”
I faced the gathered ‘another world monsters’ again.
I let the restored magic surge through me, raising my fighting spirit for the next wave.
