*Kent’s Perspective
The destruction of the ‘another world monster’ factory by Milly’s group was progressing smoothly. The ‘another world monsters’ stationed around the Abyss Gate had been largely exterminated. Fortunately, no Beast Monsters were confirmed in this area, so the casualty count was below the projected number.
…But still, the losses are mounting… already hundreds have fallen…
Each time a casualty occurs, I record their name in my notebook. These names will serve as epitaphs on the monument after the battle. I’ve also instructed my adjutant to keep the same record, so their sacrifice won’t be in vain even if I fall.
”General! Don’t let it show on your face! You can’t afford to look like that. You must stand firm!”
Garvey, my Vice-Captain in place of Kondrad, who was leading the rearguard, warned me. The main casualties were among the Monster Hunters in the vanguard, but Delprius’s aerial team had also suffered heavily. The wounded from the air operation were exposed to the fierce attacks of the ‘another world monsters’ and were shot down in droves.
”Ah, sorry. I’m not naturally aggressive. I can’t help but show it as the names in this notebook increase.”
”That won’t do. You’re the one who started this war. The person in charge can’t look disheartened. You must accept all harm with a firm attitude. That’s the General’s duty.”
Garvey slapped my back hard. He’s a man with far better skills than me as a General, and he’s also a valuable confidant who offers advice and support.
Without Garvey and Kondrad backing me up, I would never have even considered starting such a fight. Because they are leading the army, I can fully utilize my abilities to win this battle.

”Understood. I’ll be careful. And Garvey, make sure not to die. If you do, Marguerite will hunt me down in the afterlife.”
”That’s right. If I die, Marguerite and Mira will come for me too.”
Garvey is fighting alone because, besides Marguerite, Mira is also pregnant.

”Sir Kent, I report. The vanguard’s Rootless Weed has reached the Abyss Gate. The other Hunting Groups are also clearing out ‘another world monsters’ and taking a break.”
The report sent by the officer who had been accompanying the leading Monster Hunters was one we had been eagerly waiting for. Finally, they had suppressed the enemy’s ‘another world monsters’ and reached the location of the Abyss Gate. If we could seal the land where the ‘another world monsters’ spawn, our victory would be assured.
”General, the vanguard has started their break, so we should go assist Lady Milly. At this point, we should thoroughly destroy this manufacturing facility.”
Garvey suggested sending the army to destroy the manufacturing facility, which had been lagging behind. While the vanguard held the Abyss Gate, we needed to thoroughly destroy the facility and prevent ‘another world monsters’ from being created in this land.
”Alright, Garvey. You can take the cavalry squad with you. Thoroughly destroy it. I’ll head to the Abyss Gate first.”
After entrusting the army to Garvey, I ran ahead with only my bodyguard ogre women, armed with crimson spears, toward the Monster Hunters ahead.

When I arrived at the Monster Hunters’ position, Astral Valkyrie and Red Valkyrie, who had been at the rear, were sitting down, taking a break.
”Hey, Giuliana, Elia. Looks like you’re okay. I’m glad there were no casualties in your Hunting Group.”
”Lord Kent… We could fight more, but the men are trying to look cool and fight on the front lines, so there were fewer casualties. My Hunting Group only had a few injuries.”
”I, I also had no injuries, thanks to Ms. Giuliana and the other Hunting Groups who protected us.”
The two Hunting Groups were at the back of the Monster Hunters, so damage was minor. The middle Hunting Groups ahead had taken more damage.
”For now, can you accompany me to the Abyss Gate as my guard if you’re unharmed? The other Hunting Groups seem pretty worn out.”
To give the exhausted Hunting Groups a rest, we decided to push these two less fatigued groups slightly to the front. Mostly, the ‘another world monsters’ are finished, and they are reasonably strong, so it should be fine.
”That’s good to hear. My arms have been itching. I’ll go with you to the Abyss Gate.”
”Elia?”
”We can still fight, so we’ll come too.”
”Alright, let’s go.”
Leading them, we headed again toward the Abyss Gate. Monster Hunters who finished their hunt sat down, pulled out snacks, and started eating.
Many Monster Hunters were injured, showing a fierce battle had taken place. Although the rear also fought reasonably well, the front-line Monster Hunters seemed to have faced even harsher fights.
”Many Hunting Groups are hurt or exhausted. It might be dangerous to rush in without more preparations.”
”Yeah. They probably used a lot of supplies, so they should be resupplied.”
Giuliana nodded, watching the other Hunting Groups resting on the ground.
”Once Milly’s group and the army regroup, let’s take control of the Abyss Gate and let them rest.”
While chatting casually, we headed toward the Abyss Gate. Suddenly, we heard a huge roar from its direction. Then, a giant mushroom cloud and blast wave swept across the area.
”What?! What just happened?! Did an explosion occur near the Abyss Gate?”
The Monster Hunters, taking a break from the sudden explosion, immediately prepared for battle. They must be accustomed to fighting; this is deeply ingrained in them.
”Sorry, Giuliana, Elia. Stay on standby. Wait here! Something feels off.”
”Lord Kent… it’s dangerous for you to go alone. We are also Monster Hunters, and we will protect you. Take us.”
”That’s right. If we let Lord Kent go alone, Mistress Lina will scold us.”
Giuliana and Elia requested to withdraw their standby orders. Meanwhile, Kerstin from Black Bullet approached from nearby where she rested.
”Kent, the explosion was near the Abyss Gate. We don’t know the damage yet, but those are probably the Rootless Weed’s minions. They stole magic guns and Beast Monster Hammers from our ammunition carriage. They might be in a fight with a big opponent now.”
”In that case, we need to send reinforcements quickly. Which teams can move from your group?”
”Manon’s Sniper Team can respond immediately. But others need supplies first.”
”Understood. I’ll borrow Manon.”
I signaled Manon with my eyes, then, with Giuliana, Elia, and others, we rushed toward the Abyss Gate.
