Volume 14 Chapter 52 Omens Of Collapse

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

After defeating the terrifying monster-like creature using Healing Magic and recovery potions, we slowly approached the massive human figure crouching at the back of the room. Our team’s magical energy was completely drained, and we had used up all our healing items. It was unclear if we could continue fighting, but to find the closure device for this space, we had no choice but to face the huge figure lurking in the corner.

’How dare you kill my cute children.’

As we drew closer, a voice echoed directly in our minds. The others seemed to hear it too, though it wasn’t a sound we could pinpoint.

”Are you the leader of the ‘another world monsters’?”

I directed my question at the crouching figure, likely the source of the voice. It shook its shoulders and burst into laughter.

’Leader? Kukuku, Ahahaha! That’s a funny word. In a way, I’m like their mother, so you’re not wrong. Welcome, Kent Blackdagger. I’ve heard about you from my dear friend Iska. You were once a vessel of the Divine Race, Orphée Bleu, right? Perfect. If I can acquire your Divine Race genes, it’ll be easier to open the gate to the Celestial Kingdom (Heavens).’

”W-what are you talking about? I’m here to destroy you. There’s no place for you ‘another world monsters’ in this Grimoire!”

’I have no interest in this world either. I just want to kill those from the Celestial Kingdom (Heavens) who abandoned me. Truth is, I was looking for a way to do that when I got trapped here. I gathered information from the outside world through a tiny crack in the barrier.’

”Information gathering!? Do you realize how many people died because of your monsters?”

’That’s a difference in perspective. I only wanted information, never intended to kill, but my children seemed hungry. As a parent, I couldn’t deny them nourishment.’

 ”Further discussion is pointless.”

’Agreed. You want to defeat me, and I want your genes. Talking more is a waste of time.’

At that moment, the crouching figure stood up and turned toward us. The giant revealed itself as a woman with Iska’s face, staring right at us.

 ”Iska…”

’Iska is a precious friend. So, I’ll merge with Kent Blackdagger, whom she desires. After extracting your genes, you can flirt with Iska. Hehehe.’

The giant, whose face resembles Iska’s, smiles sinisterly.

”No way. I’ll take back both Iska and myself. Protecting her as my legitimate wife is my duty. Iska must bear my children—I won’t let a monster like you have her.”

Milly, torn and tattered, stepped forward and thrust a dagger at the giant.

”Indeed. Ms. Iska must receive Sir Kent’s insatiable lust and use her sturdy body to produce many heirs for the Blackdagger family.”

Annabella, her armor crushed, stood beside me and swung her mace forward.

”Yes, we can’t risk our lives if Iska doesn’t receive Kent’s endless lust.”

”I think I can handle it, but maybe not for 24 hours.”

 ”Big sister…”

Lina and Lana, wands in hand, showed their determination despite their complaints.

”We cannot allow Iska, who carries the seed of our god Almighty Kent, to be sacrificed to this creature. As the founder of the Church of Kent, I demand her return.”

”Yes, as a follower of the Church of Kent, I’ll help retrieve Lady Iska.”

Carlamia and Flamil pointed their staffs at the giant.

”I won’t give Iska up. If anyone I met through Mr. Kent ends up unhappy, that’s unacceptable! I’ll definitely take her back.”

”That’s exactly what Ms. Feria said!”

”Right. I was guided by Lord Kent too. I can’t let Lady Iska be unhappy.”

Aurelia, Feria, and Ines also aimed their weapons at the giant.

”Sorry, but we won’t let go of Iska, and we won’t help your scheme. If you return her honestly, we’ll let you go without suffering.”

I pointed my spear at the smirking giant, forcing a faint smile.

’Pretending to be friends is extreme. Everyone wants to monopolize Kent, yet they claim to help Iska? Lies. Be honest. You all want Kent Blackdagger for yourselves. At least, Iska seems to think so.’

As the giant continued smiling, it placed its hand on the ground. The earth shook like an earthquake, and the defeated creatures burst from the ground, enveloped in black mist, regenerating their bodies.

”No way! They’re coming back to life!?”

The sudden resurrection confused our team. The creatures we’d just defeated were slowly regaining their forms.

’Haha. Did you think defeating my creations would be easy? These children will become perfect weapons to kill gods. Haha, wonderful. I’ll give them more energy.’

The creatures, wrapped in black mist, had more vibrant skin colors than before, evolving into even more ferocious forms.

As the regeneration continued, sparks flew from a laboratory-like room, and the tremors intensified.

”Could this be a sign of spacetime closure?”

The vibrations reminded me of closing a spacetime crack before. I looked at Lina and Valentina with concern.

”Maybe. It could be using the energy maintaining this spacetime for regeneration.”

”If so, it’s dangerous. The space could collapse all at once. Worst case, we’d be trapped here, wandering a cut-off time and space.”

’Oh my, such perceptive children. Since you’ve guessed, I’ll tell you. This space is unsustainable with this regeneration. In minutes, it’ll be isolated from the outside world, and time will stop. A floating space, unacknowledged by any world. Wonderful, isn’t it? Ah, but I’ll let you escape. What will you do? You might as well stay—it’ll be a wonderful space.’

The giant laughed, “Kukuku,” and dashed toward the exit.

”What!? No way! I’m going after it! I can’t let that monster escape!”

”Kent! The creatures revived. Even if you chase the giant, we need to deal with them too!”

Milly pointed out that the revived creatures were now fully restored. Their vivid, primary-colored skin made them even more menacing as they faced us, ready to attack.

Meanwhile, red warning lights flickered in the research room, alarms blared, and steam spewed from broken pipes, signaling the impending collapse.
