Volume 3 Chapter 24 Forbidden Storage Organization

After completing the Full Equipment, we stood in front of the door to the warehouse located beneath the mansion.
”Alright, let’s charge into this uncharted territory!”
As Milly swung the door open with a bang, a black mist of particles flowed out from within.
”Whoa, Mill──Lady…Miriallia. This is no ordinary amount. How many magic-infused equipment and magic tools are stored here? I’ve always sold my materials and loot to fund my magic script purchases, so how much do you need to hoard to end up like this?”
Carly was shocked by the sheer quantity of items Milly had stockpiled.
The warehouse had considerable depth, but the overflow of items had blocked off parts of the passageway.
”I dumped all the stuff that’s hard to exchange at the Hunter Guild here. It’s overflowing into the annex too. We even had to fight black devils (cockroaches) there.”
”Lady Miriallia, I’ll take care of those black devils (cockroaches).”
Annabella began practicing her mace swings upon hearing about the black devils (cockroaches).
”Well, let’s not make a racket at the entrance. Let’s start appraising from the front.”
Golerg entered the warehouse and began appraising the equipment on the nearby shelves.
He seemed to be leaving the magic tools in the corridor for Hector to appraise.
The nearby shelves held equipment that had been appraised when they cleared out the warehouse in the annex previously.
”I’ll take this stuff and try to sell it to the kingdom’s museum or something. It’s not like we can use these cursed weapons in battle anyway.”
”Yes, let’s have Mr. Golerg handle the disposal. We can’t possibly supply cursed weapons, after all.”
After entering the warehouse, Aurelia seemed rather restless.
Her gaze was fixed on several swords that were standing upright.
Ah, Aurelia wants a sword… She worked hard during the defense battle and even acquired the Multi-sword Style.
I’ll ask Milly to let her have one as a reward.
”Milly, I want to give Aurelia a sword as a reward. Is that okay?”
”Huh? If it’s not cursed, then that’s fine.”
Aurelia, who was listening to our conversation, excitedly came closer.
Her breathing was very heavy.
”Wow, is it true! I have a crush on someone!”
Saying this, Aurelia took out a beautiful red-sheathed sword.
I don’t know much about swords, but I could feel some elegance from it.
”Oh, that’s the Sword of Lion King! The beloved sword of Sword Master Dalmoth. Milly, where did you get such a thing?”
”Uh? Well, I think when we defeated a beast monster in the southern region, it came from that monster.”
”It’s written in the legends that Sword Master Dalmoth had one of his beloved swords swallowed by a beast monster. It must be about this one.”
Aurelia was hugging the sword and rubbing her cheek against it.
It seems to be a very precious sword.
Since she was happy and Milly gave her okay, I decided to give the sword to Aurelia.
”Alright, Aurelia. I’m going to give you that sword as a reward, so take good care of it.”
”Really, is it okay! Lord Kent?”
”It’s fine. Milly has approved it, and it’s not cursed.”
”──Hey! Kent! Are you really going to give it to her as a reward? If you auction off the Sword of Lion King to a collector, it could easily be worth a dozen gold coins!”
Oof!
Seriously? A single sword can be worth hundreds of millions!
But I already said I’d give it to her… If I take it away, Aurelia might go crazy every night.
For my own safety, I’ll swallow my tears and let Aurelia use it.
”Mr. Golerg, I’ll give it to Aurelia. I think the sword would be happier if it was used by a swordsman named Aurelia…”
”What a bold man. By the way, I’ll also help pick out weapons for Kent’s little ladies.”
I decided to give Aurelia a sword, even though my heart was bleeding.
Aurelia was so happy, she was bowing down as if she might lick my shoes.
After finishing the inspection near the entrance, we continued to check the items scattered in the hallway.
The collection had about 40% materials, 30% equipment, and 30% magic tools.
We were carefully moving the inspected items, staying alert for unknown enemies.
Then, Golerg, who was checking the items in the hallway, pulled out a mace and handed it to Annabella.
”For AnnAnn, this ‘Guardian Mace’ with magic is great. It’s a weapon that boosts physical and magic defense for the user. It’ll make you tougher.”
”Ms. Annabella, t-that’s wonderful. Now, please protect Kent.”
”Y-yes! I will take all attacks aimed at Sir Kent!”
Annabella was lightly swinging the Guardian Mace she received.
I understand she’s happy, but it’s a bit dangerous.
Golerg continued to rummage through the collection, inspecting items.
Then, he pulled out a battle axe that was as thin as a piece of paper.
”Oh, I found this too. The ‘Swift Wind Axe’ is perfect for the charge-in girl, Feria. Since she lacks strength, she needs to increase her number of attacks.”
Golerg had noticed Feria’s weakness.
It seemed he had experience estimating combat power based on race and job type.
As expected from a skilled blacksmith.
”But can a battle axe with almost no thickness really increase the number of attacks?”
”It can cut at least twice. The rest depends on the user’s speed. But for a warrior type, even 2 cuts can deal a lot of damage.”
While explaining Feria’s weapon to me, Golerg continued to rummage and pulled out a huge 2-meter-long double-edged battle axe.
”This is perfect for that minotaur girl. With the ‘Great Axe of Annihilation’, she can hunt monsters like cutting grass. If she’s a minotaur and a warrior type, she could slice through even mid-level monsters in one hit.”
”Ines, you have to do your best as the vanguard attacker. I’m glad we have good stuff.”
While we were carrying out items from the corridor, an unknown enemy finally appeared.
”Kent. I found a giant rat. Please take care of it, Kerstin.”
Kerstin aimed Elitzina and shot at the giant rat that was getting ready to attack us.
Bang! Bang!
The giant rat, hit in the forehead, fell down without moving and changed into black mist.
”Elimination complete. Phew, Lady Miriallia scared me so much, I thought it would be a tough enemy. It was just a ghost rat.”
”If a beast monster class was wandering around the storage, it would be a problem. I think even if there was one, it would just be a small animal that turned into a monster.”
”If it’s this weak, do I even need to be here? Mir… Lady Miriallia.”
”Just in case, I need to use you, Carly. Hehe.”
”Ugh! How wicked! But, this is a time to endure. After I pay off my debt…”
However, the enemy was not just one.
As the wall of piled-up items collapsed, dozens of giant spiders appeared.
Caught off guard, the giant spiders shot webs at Kerstin and Annabella, trapping them.
”Oh my~. It seems they were breeding more than I thought… I guess hoarding is not good.”
”Milly! Aurelia! For now, take care of the giant spiders. Carly, can you get us out of this web?”
”If I hit with Fire Arrow at the lowest power, I can free you. Please don’t move.”
”Carlamia, I’m counting on you.”
”Ms. Carlamia, please don’t hit me.”
Carly had a wicked smile on her face as she looked at Kerstin.
Kerstin was trembling, but I thought she wouldn’t do anything cruel in front of Annabella.
I would go support Milly.
The giant spider traps its prey with webs, making them unable to move, and then eats them. As long as we are careful of the webs, it is not a monster we need to worry about.
Aurelia was happily swinging her 2 swords, slicing the giant spider to pieces.
Thud! Thud!
It took us only about 3 minutes to defeat the last one.
”That was easy. Does this mean we have become stronger?”
”Well, honestly, it’s a bit of a joke that people like Kent are below HR 20. You should talk to the Hunter Guild and get your rank raised quickly.”
Saying this, Golerg went back to appraising the broken items.
Along the way, we found a ‘Thunder Bow’ with a perfect paralysis effect for Manon and a ‘Stealth Spear’ that boosts concealment ability, which is just right for Beatrice.
