”If we did that, then…South District…no, beast monsters would roam the whole Kingdom, right? That’s not something we can do. Once we know, we can’t ignore it”
A heavy feeling hung in the large room.
Everyone here knows about the calamity caused by beast monsters, monsters, and ‘another world monsters’.
”Well, as long as we defeat the Predation Tentacles, there’s nothing to worry about…but I can’t guarantee your safety after that…”
It was Garvey’s single word that broke the tension.
He seems to have a plan to defeat the heavily guarded Predation Tentacles.
”Really?”
”Yes, I do. It requires all the soldiers at Felward Fortress, and the Monster Hunters, to risk their lives…yes, even the Captain’s life.”
”Everyone’s life…and even mine…”
The tension returned to the room.
”Let’s just hear Garvey’s plan. I’ll decide whether to execute it after I hear it.”
”Understood. We’ll concentrate all of Felward’s forces and aim for a breakthrough at a single point in the enemy’s defenses. The Red Devils will break through the outer perimeter. We’ll then advance together, and my unit and the Black Wings will break through the second layer of Small-sized ‘another world monsters’. The Monster Hunters will break through the third layer of Medium-sized ‘another world monsters’, and finally, the Captain, with the Crimson Bride, the Black Bullet, and the Golden Apostles, will launch a full-scale assault.”
Garvey revealed his plan to defeat the Predation Tentacles to everyone.
”What happens after we defeat the Predation Tentacles?”
Milly questioned Garvey’s plan.
”…I clearly said that until we defeat the Predation Tentacles, I can only guarantee a one-way trip. I think there will be significant losses during the retreat. Probably, we’ll have to leave behind the injured and the stragglers, and I don’t think we can bring back any dead.”

My wives protested after hearing Garvey’s plan.
It seemed they realized my return rate would be the lowest.
While I appreciated their protests, if we left it alone without defeating it, it was clear that Estfort, Godard, and Felward would suffer damage in the end.
By underestimating the Ghost Clan and being stingy with our forces, we ended up suffering from a lack of troops that could have prevented a major disaster.
On the day we arrived at Felward Fortress, I had been scouting, but I judged that the ‘another world monster’ was just preying on the Ghost Clan, so I prioritized countermeasures against the Ghost Clan, worsening the situation.
I should have sent out scouts for the ‘another world monster’ a bit earlier.
Is there no other strategy…?
The air is no good, the ground is blocked by the Iron Wall… underground!
What if we attack from below?
I remembered the underground tunnel strategy that the Army Ants had once used.
They had tried to bypass the defensive stronghold of the Great Wall and advance to a less fortified area from below.
I thought about applying that strategy to this operation.
”Sorry, Garvey. Actually, I thought of a different plan. I think this way we can avoid a one-way ticket.”
”Really? I hope you don’t want your plan to be adopted. After all, it’s a strategy that would lose half our fighting force.”
Garvey looked relieved that I had proposed an alternative.
He probably didn’t want to send his allies into a deadly situation either.
”So, what’s the general’s plan?”
”Ah, it’s underground. We just need to pass under their feet. Dig a tunnel, send in the Elite Troops, defeat the Predation Tentacles, and then we can slowly tighten the noose on the remaining enemies.”
Gasps of admiration rose from the attendees in the hall at my proposal.
Only those in the side rooms and the General class present in the hall knew of my ability to alter terrain with Divine Magic.
The others had thought my terrain alteration was a new earth-based magic.
It seems Soumei is gradually realizing that my technique is not magic, but for now, it’s being pushed as a new type of earth magic in public.
”Hmph… Now that you mention it, I’ve heard that Kent is skilled in a new type of earth magic. Can this technique dig sideways?”
Hendric asked me with a suspicious look.
”I can. Magically, I should be able to advance to the central area. If we can distract the enemy above, the central Predation Tentacles could be a surprise attack. Plus, there are plenty of formidable Monster Hunters gathered here. I think even a small unit can manage.”
I scanned the faces of the Hunting Group Leaders standing around.
Some were wearing looks of surprise, others had challenging smiles, and some showed expressions of fear.
”Hahaha! That’s Kent for you! To launch a surprise attack on an enemy’s vital point with just a few is bold! Certainly, if we can kill the Predation Tentacles, anything should be possible after that. I’m in!”
Matthew showed his agreement with my strategy.
”Well, the general’s thoughts are wild… The enemy wouldn’t expect an attack from underground either. I’ll use the army and the ‘Red Devil’ and ‘Black Wing’ on the surface as decoys.”
Garvey volunteered to take on the most challenging decoy role.
I believe he can effectively divert the enemy if he acts as the decoy.
”…I’ll join in on Kent’s plan too.”
Soumei also agreed to participate.
”Since it’s just beginner Kent, I’m worried, so I, the formidable Monster Hunter, will join. You should be grateful.”
Hendric was staring down at me loftily.
”Kent! That’s no good. Don’t do such a reckless thing.”
”It’s alright, I can escape after defeating the Predation Tentacles. I just need to fill it back in so the enemy can’t get in.”
I soothe Milly, who is worried.
Creation of the Universe has consumed much less magic thanks to the increase in my Worshipers.
If the distance I heard in the report is accurate, we can dig through with ease.
”But, Kent… we’re going into the enemy… because it’s you, Kent.”
”Yeah, I can’t just let the proposer sit back and watch the situation unfold. With Milly and the strongest escort group, we can charge in and make it back.”
”I understand. I will protect your life with all my strength.”
”I’m counting on you.”
Hearing my words, Milly gave up on persuading me and immediately started preparing.
The other members were also getting ready for battle.
