”Hey! Are you giving Yoshimi some weird massage or what?” someone snapped.
”I’m not doing anything like that! Maybe your mother was just watching,” Haruto replied calmly.
”Don’t try to trick me! You’re pretending to be nice now, but planning something else later, right?”
”That’s not true at all!”
Haruto was sure he wasn’t doing anything strange. Still, he couldn’t deny a small part of him had wondered if something more might happen.
Yoshimi was a country girl with sun-kissed skin and a tight, toned body, shaped by life outside the city.
(Inside the small hut… pushing out her firm hips, feeling someone behind her…)
Meanwhile, Yoshimi’s father was quietly watching Haruto from behind like a suspicious guard, his eyes sharp and alert.
”Grandma! Watch your step!” Yoshimi called out.
”Sorry, I got a little excited and wasn’t paying attention,” her grandmother said with a small smile.
The massage was planned for three days. To help the healing last longer, her grandmother was told to keep the bandage on until the day after the massage ended.
That morning, her grandmother started to feel the effects from yesterday’s treatment. Usually, she wouldn’t need such care, but they wanted it to look natural—so she wouldn’t seem fully healed immediately.
Still, right now, her grandmother could barely walk alone without pushing herself. Yoshimi, unaware of this, worried when she saw her grandmother standing quietly on the porch, staring outside.
”By tomorrow, she should be able to walk on her own,” Haruto reassured her.
”Really? That fast?” Yoshimi asked, surprised.
”Yes, so just take it easy until then. And your pimples will be completely gone by tomorrow,” Haruto added cheerfully.
”Really? That’s great!” Yoshimi smiled brightly.
Haruto began the massage again, just like the day before. The only difference was that now he could sense blood types with his ability—and that’s when he made a shocking discovery.
(What? No way… This can’t be true…)
Even though he didn’t fully understand the feeling, Haruto sensed something strange about Yoshimi’s blood. After learning more, he was still shocked.
(Yoshimi has… a golden blood type…)
Most people know about blood types as Rh positive or negative. Almost everyone is Rh positive, while only about 0.5% are Rh negative.
But there’s a rarer blood type called Rh null. It has no Rh antigens at all and can be donated to anyone, no matter their blood type. This rare “golden blood” is found in only about 50 people worldwide.
The problem is, people with this blood type can only receive blood from others with the same rare type.
If Yoshimi ever got seriously hurt or needed surgery, finding matching blood would be nearly impossible.
”Yoshimi, have you ever donated blood?” Haruto asked carefully.
”No, I haven’t.”
(Hmm… How do I tell her this? If I say her blood type is very rare without proof, she might not believe me.)
Haruto kept thinking all day about how to explain this to her.

• Yoshimi – Female. A high school girl who guides Haruto to her grandmother’s house. She is wary of doctors due to past experiences and becomes agitated when Haruto reveals her grandmother’s condition. Her relationship with Haruto is tense, and she sides with her family in distrusting him.
