Chapter 200 Hospital Cooperation

Yuna’s surgery was successfully completed by Akane and Yui. Haruto, watching the tense atmosphere in the lobby, felt a flicker of worry but trusted their skill completely. The two women in surgical gowns looked every bit like doctors.
Since the surgery wasn’t complicated, Yuna was able to go home the same day. Manager Sasahira, heading toward the car, smiled as if she had just come up with a good idea, while Yuna followed behind, legs still a bit stiff, but wearing a gentle smile.
As a side note, after Akane and Yui received Yuna’s signature on a colored paper and left cheerfully, Shūichi quietly approached Yuna, holding that same paper.
”I just remembered—I wanted to talk to Akane and Yui-san about something!” Haruto said.
”To me and Mom? What’s on your mind?” Yuna asked, curious.
After Yuna and the others left, Haruto called Akane and Yui over to discuss Akamoto Nana’s case—her lower body paralysis. At the same time, he asked for their cooperation to help the hospital better use its abilities and manage the risks involved.
”Haruto-kun, are you sure about this? I appreciate the offer, but…” Akane hesitated.
”Like Haruto said, it wouldn’t be bad for the hospital to handle more cases,” Yui added.
”Still, we have to be careful about which patients we take. Only those within the hospital’s capacity, absolutely,” Akane warned.
”Yeah, it feels strange that we only have internal medicine and pediatrics, yet suddenly a neurosurgery patient arrives,” Yui commented.
”Even if I take charge, only obstetrics and gynecology will increase. Is that really okay?” Akane asked.
”As I explained before, taking on too much at once is impossible. I plan to manage it carefully, like running a massage parlor alongside,” Haruto replied.
”Understood. If Haruto decides, I will cooperate,” Akane nodded firmly.
”Hehe, of course I’ll help too,” Yui smiled.
”Thanks! So, how should I explain this to Shūichi-san?” Haruto asked.
”Well… maybe you don’t have to tell him,” Yui suggested.
”Is that alright?” Haruto looked surprised.
”When surgery is necessary, I, as Vice Director, will give permission. Shūichi isn’t very skilled with surgery anyway. If director approval is absolutely needed, I can ask him, so it won’t be a problem,” she assured.
The three continued discussing various matters, gradually shaping Haruto’s plan for risk distribution. Once a direction was settled, the conversation shifted.
”By the way, Haruto, I spoke to Yuzuki on the phone yesterday…” Akane began.
Yuzuki was Yuzuki Kono, a senior from the same university, Chiba, where they studied Economics. She had become a close friend after an incident that brought them together.
”Renka and Mebae seem to be envying us,” Akane said.
Kokushi Renka and Munesawa Mebae were classmates in the same medical school and members of the massage research club. Haruto had once said they were naturally beautiful without any makeup.
”What are they jealous about?”
”Obviously about Yuna-chan! She even asked me for her autograph!”
”I see… I’m glad everyone is doing well.”
”It’s unfair that only she gets special treatment. Next time, they want you to give them a massage!” Akane said.
”F-fair… You got an autograph, right?” Haruto asked.
”Haah, Haruto just doesn’t understand…” she sighed.
Since graduating, he hadn’t seen those girls much. During university, their training was so busy it was rare to meet up. In other words, the beauty effect from Haruto’s ability had faded. People tend to cling to things they’ve had once.
”If that’s the case, I said I’d do it if they came to the shop,” Haruto said quietly.
”Really? Do you think they’ll come?”
”I want to see everyone again after a long time. Maybe have a meal together.”
”Yeah! I’ll tell them.”
”The topic shifted, but please take care of the patient!”
”Leave it to me! This is starting to sound fun after all.”
”Hey, Mom! That kind of language isn’t right when talking about a patient!”
”Sorry,” she apologized quickly.
(I was planning something a little mischievous for that patient…)
He can never say it out loud. So, Haruto quietly muttered to himself…
Notes:
• Yuna – Female. A famous idol. She has well-defined features and is described as idol-like in appearance. She is a member of a popular idol group known for intense dance and singing performances. She is considering an AV job, which is unusual for a current popular idol. Her relationship with Haruto is that of a customer seeking assistance.
• Nana – The one dating Haruto before she goes to Hokkaido.
• Renka – A second-year medical student whose family runs a cosmetic surgery clinic. She has extensive knowledge of aesthetics and is the first to notice the abnormality in Haruto’s massage. She is close friends with Mebae and Yuzuki.
• Mebae – Munesawa Mebae. A second-year medical student and close friend of Renka. She is less interested in the abnormality of Haruto’s massage but is straightforward and assertive, as seen when she asks Haruto to stop using her surname.
