Right from the start, as Kiritani slashed into Sogog and Gomul, Yuki called out to him with a warning laced in her words. “It’s pointless! No matter how much you carve them up, these guys’ wounds heal right away!”
Immediately after, Kiritani took in Yuki’s statement and thought to himself, (I see…), nodding internally in understanding.
Against the protruding Sogog, Kiritani struck with blinding speed, slashing multiple times and forcing the creature to its knees. But just as Yukina Yuki had said, even though he’d inflicted what should have been fairly deep wounds, Sogog was already standing back up, healed enough to fight again.
It seemed that even damage slicing through muscle and exposing bone would heal at an impressive speed… No wonder the other Heroes were having such a hard time with them…
”Then I’ll just hit them with a devastating blow before they can heal,” Kiritani stated calmly. With that, he targeted Sogog, who was once again leading the charge ahead of Gomul, and unleashed his Weapons Skill: Golden Flash Slash.
”Die.”
The moment Kiritani’s Golden Flash Slash activated, a dazzling golden light illuminated the entire area!
”Nu? …Sogog!!”
What leaped into Gomul’s eyes was the sight of Sogog’s form enveloped in that blinding golden radiance, vanishing at the same time—and astonishingly, the ground that formed the earth cracked and split like dried skin, while the massive stone walls shaping the fortress disappeared without a trace!
”You bastard! Human!”
Naturally, with Sogog taken down, Gomul flew into a rage and lunged at Kiritani, but Kiritani didn’t attempt to use Golden Flash Slash again…
No, more accurately, he couldn’t!
”Tch!”
Clicking his tongue, Kiritani twisted his body to evade the charging Gomul’s attack!
This all stemmed from the nature of Weapons Skills. They were undoubtedly powerful attacks, but the truth was, they couldn’t be fired off in rapid succession. Using one consumed nearly all of one’s MP…
Even for Kiritani, who had clearly more magical power than the other Heroes and a faster MP recovery rate, this was no exception. Once used, that was it—there was no way to intentionally control the power, of course, nor could he divide it into multiple uses by his own will. Of course, some Heroes forced it anyway. In the cases of Sayumi Mineyama, Miyake Yuka, or Yuzuki Yuka, they relied on extremely expensive rings or bracelets that accelerated MP recovery—or chugged those disgustingly bitter MP potions—to spam their Weapons Skills…
But Heroes who went that far were a rare few. Kiritani did have MP potions on him, but aside from the potions’ taste itself—
Even if he could stomach it, his own total magical capacity was too vast, and Gomul’s onslaught was far too fierce for him to be in a state to drink one…
Plus, with Mineyama down, Yukina Yuki—the next strongest after her—had already gone off somewhere, worried about Mineyama…

Ignoring the overconfident Gomul, Kiritani—who hadn’t even broken a sweat—thought to himself, (This guy… he’s even more brainless than I imagined. He just got lucky spotting that.) With a sly smirk, he stepped forward instead and hit Gomul with a Flash Strike!
Before he knew it, Gomul was frozen a short distance behind Kiritani—and soon after, with a slow, heavy thud of a sound, his head dropped to the ground…
”Hmph… So even if wounds heal in an instant, turns out losing your head still kills you…”
Kiritani approached the head he’d severed from Gomul, and with an expressionless face, he crushed it underfoot, declaring arrogantly, “I’m just too strong… This doesn’t stir any emotion in me at all…”
For other Heroes, they might feel exhilarated, thinking (Yes!) or (I’m thrilled!), their spirits soaring at the victory. But for him, who was fully aware of his own strength, defeating an enemy was nothing special at all. If anything…
”Hero has defeated the enemy—!!” “Long live Hero! Long live His Majesty the King! Long live the Holy Kingdom of Alyurein!” “We’re alive!” “This is all thanks to Lady Viness’s blessing—!!”
