Volume 3 Chapter 110 The Sadistic Monks
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Well, yeah.”
”Are you hurt?”
”Nope. Easy peasy.”
”Don’t lie, Kian. Show me your wounds later. Ms. Serena, help these people onto the horses. Ms. Ninini, wake up.”
”But, Ms. Ninini is…”
”Hmph!”
Sarah placed her hand on Ninini’s stomach, kneading energy (ki) and slamming it in.
”-nyaaah!?”
Ninini doubled over, eyes wide, and her heart began to pound like crazy.
Her body’s tachyonian cells were forcibly activated, releasing magic power so strong that her black cat fur stood on end and vibrated.
”Nyowaaaaah!?”
”Silence.”
”M-mff, mgh…”
”The enemy will come, okay? If you scream again, I’ll knock you out.”
”M-m-m-nya.”
”It’s a blood tonic. It’ll sting a little.”
Sarah said this, took out a syringe filled with medicine, heated the needle with magic, and then *BAM!* stabbed it into Ninini’s thigh.
”G-nyaaaah!?”
”You’re being noisy.”
”Ugh… …, ……”
”To knock her out again after waking her up…”
(Kian, perplexed)
’Don’t copy me, you sadistic monk!’
Kian’s opinion of ‘glasses’ seemed to have dropped even further.
But he couldn’t say anything because he deserved it.
”There, awake!”
”Nyaaa…!”
”You mustn’t scream.”
”Nya, nya…, where, where is this-nya?”
”It’s the Eastern wilderness. The mission was, in a sense, successful. We gave up Ms. Vestacia, but Mr. Rean…”
”────! Rean! You’re safe-nya!”
Sarah smiled and removed her hand from Ninini.
”You understand the situation, right?”
”W-well, I’m still confused…”
”I’m sorry, but we don’t have time. We have to escape to the Great Forest.”
”Nya…”
”Ms. Ninini, carry Mr. Rean and get on the horse.”
”Nya, nya, huh?”
”Cut the jokes. Can’t you just say ‘yes’?”
”Yes, I can-nya.”
”Good girl. There, there. ──Ms. Serena? What are you doing? Hurry up and get on the horse.”
”Eh…, uh, yes. I’m sorry.”
”Ms. Serena?”
Sarah seemed to have finally noticed something was off, as she turned with a worried look to peer at the girl, then at the bloodstained bandages and Kian’s expression, seemingly piecing together everything.
”Thanks for holding down the fort back there.”
Sarah said gently, then embraced Serena.
”I’m sorry. I understand how you feel. I too… have had my family slaughtered.”
”…hm.”
”It must have been tough… I’m sorry.”
”…Ms. Sarah…. Ugh…”
As the two women hugged, Ninini, who had just finished helping Rean onto the horse, approached.
”Hey, Kian. Why’d we survive-nya? Is this… a dream-nya?”
”This is reality. Sarah managed everything. It was Sarah who got Mr. Rean out.”
”Oh, I see. Sarah did it all. I was just causing trouble all along-nya.”
”Well, something like that.”
”I was pretty useless-nya(にゃ)…”
”Yeah, I guess so.”
Kian nodded with a complicated look.
The theory that Sarah could have handled things alone from the start was a very strong one.
If she could weaken the Wolfmen with bugs, and create chaos by blasting the bathroom with blast bombs, it was all thanks to her.
Meanwhile, Kian and Ninini, objectively speaking, just charged into enemy lines and got into trouble on their own.
They didn’t do anything related to the mission.
Thanks to that, they had to give up on Vestacia.
’If it weren’t for Lady Sarah, you would’ve been caught by that monster and killed’
(Certainly, that aging Wolfman would’ve defeated Sarah upon meeting her, wouldn’t he?)
But if Sarah’s stealth ability had been used, she might have escaped before being found.
Kian and Ninini should have done the same.
Falling into the enemy magician’s trap was a complete failure.
”Um, Sarah. Listen-nya?”
”What is it, Ms. Ninini?”
”Really, thank you-nya. Thanks to you, Rean is safe. I can’t thank you enough-nya.”
”Save your thanks for after you escape from here.”
Sarah didn’t even look at Ninini; she hurriedly climbed onto Serena’s horse and rode off.
Ninini nodded with “nnya” and jumped onto the horse carrying Rean.
”U… Ninini?”
”Rean. I’m glad you’re safe-nya.”
”What about V-Vest?”
”────”
Ninini’s face darkened.
Before the plan, the cat Beastmen Adventurer had declared they would sacrifice everything to save both Rean and Vestacia. But the situation had changed completely, and further plans were clearly impossible to carry out.
To Kian and Sarah, she was just a stray, but she was one of the few first-rank Adventurers in this frontier land.
Suppressing her emotions, she drew the line at reality──.
And at her young age, Ninini was clearly among the top Adventurers.
”If it’s not with Vest, I won’t escape…!”
”Rean”
”Vest… If I run, she’ll be killed! That’s what the magician said. I have to save her. I will somehow.”
”Rean, Vest already ran-nya. She’s waiting for us at the Great Forest-nya.”
”Earlier, I gave up on Vest.”
”I heard-nya. …And so-nya, Vest is giving up.”
”No… That’s not right. She’ll be killed.”
”Mr. Rean, I’m really sorry, but if we stay here, we’ll die too. And it’ll hurt our job reviews, so we can’t leave you here either.”
”No… no… no…”
”Alright everyone, let’s go!”
Sarah said, whipping her horse.
Ninini comforted the crying Rean, then whipped her horse too.
”Huh, wait, I’m…?”
He was so stunned at being left behind so casually.
