Rising-Monk v3c124-2

Volume 3 Chapter 124-2 The Wandering Straight Punch I

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”O────!”

The last warrior who had stepped between Kian and Linca fell to the ground.

Linca kicked the man away, then dug out part of his brain and threw it down like trash.

 ”Linca”

A figure like a death god stood in front──.

A beautiful woman from the East moved like a ghostly shadow.

Even with an oni mask on, her hair and body showed a beauty that couldn’t be hidden, even when she stood still.

Black eyes peeked through the mask’s holes, staring straight at Kian.

She reached her now-healed right hand toward the mask.

Then, she slowly took it off, revealing her face.

Her face was a classic Eastern beauty.

Her features weren’t as sharp as Christy’s, but she had a proud look and a straight nose.

Her thick black eyebrows were a bit fuller but neatly shaped.

In the distance, Sven and the others fought desperately against the black warrior monks behind her, like a scene from a battle painting.

”Mr. Kian. By order of our master──please forgive this rudeness.”

 ’Kian, run!’

 The shout came from ‘glasses’.

He has been hearing this kind of voice a lot lately.

’Use Pursuit of the Shadow! Her legs are slow when that woman uses “Penetration”!’

 (Of course)

 There’s no holding back now.

Kian used his vampire charm on Linca.

It was blocked instantly, and his magic power was stolen.

But at least he gained a split second.

Dodging her quick counterattack by turning into mist, he slipped past Linca and ran toward the corridor──just to escape.

Linca’s ‘Penetration’ can’t be broken by Kian, according to Sarah, so running is the only choice.

He could have tried using Windsong Blades, but after seeing what happened to the Wolfmen warriors earlier, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

 None of his attacks hit.

On the other side, her attacks ignore his defenses and keep coming.

If Linca’s body touches his, it’s over.

All his main blood vessels and nerves would be pulled out, making him unable to fight.

Kian stayed in mist form as long as possible, then reappeared and focused his mind──use ‘Pursuit of the Shadow’ to escape.

Since the corridor leads straight to the exit, he could keep using ‘Pursuit of the Shadow’ to leave Linca behind and escape.

That’s what he thought, but by the time he focused for ‘Pursuit of the Shadow,’ Linca appeared at the corridor entrance.

(Short-distance teleportation. So that’s possible too.)

Kian charged, and Linca raised her right hand.

He tried to dodge, but her arm twisted like a snake and hit his right shoulder.

In an instant, his right shoulder and everything below went numb, like when you sit too long, and he lost strength.

It should have hurt badly, but his senses were numb, leaving only a tingling pain in his shoulder.

Kian rolled backward, protecting his right shoulder.

Linca chased him, kicking up dust like she was dancing.

Facing Kian, who was slowly getting up, Linca lifted her right foot and kicked. Before he could react, a heavy blow hit his throat, chest, and he fell.

Her short skirt flipped up, showing black shorts, and in the next moment, he was kicked in the face.

 Neither attack used ‘penetration.’

Instead, she used ‘pierce’ to shake his brain and break through his muscles and bones.

 ”Gu…h”

 (No good. At this distance)

He couldn’t keep up with her movements while she teleported.

He couldn’t predict her attacks and couldn’t dodge.

If he could understand her moves better, he might manage, but being so close from the start made it impossible to resist.

There was no choice but to face her impossible attacks and defenses.

 ”……”

Linca’s master didn’t want to kill Kian but capture him, even during the event. So, Kian tried to protect his neck and abdomen with his arms, moving his body away from Linca.

But his desperate move was easily blocked by Linca’s teleportation, leaving him open.

Linca got behind Kian, used Mist Form, and struck him with a palm coated in ‘pierce,’ knocking him to the ground.

 (This is really bad)

At first glance, he couldn’t do anything and just got beaten.

It takes time to analyze her movements and understand how her limbs move──.

 ”Guh.”

 ”Prepare yourself.”

Now, she reached out to stop blood flow to his brain by touching his neck.

His right arm, nerves just ripped out, was useless, and breathing was hard because of the ‘pierce’ in his chest.

Now, the only option was for ‘glasses’ to use blood magic armor.

All that’s left is to rely on the hypnotic sleep curse, which might not even work.

’Glasses’ also seemed to be waiting for Kian’s magic power.

 ”Kian!!”

But in that moment, a saving shout came from the corridor.

 It was Rean.

He was heading to the swamp for hunting but noticed something wrong and came back.

The blonde young man was fully covered in dark armor, even his head.

He held a black magic sword.

Without noticing Sven and the others fighting a black warrior monk, Rean jumped from the corridor and slashed at Linca.

 ”No! Your attacks won’t work!”

Despite shouting, Rean had already jumped.

Linca quickly spun around, ready to counterattack from a low stance.

As Rean attacked from above, Linca aimed her right arm at his armor and struck.

Rean’s first attack was easily dodged, and Linca’s hand was stopped by his chest armor.

 ”──!”

 But who was surprised?

Linca’s fingers were stopped by the black armor.

Linca’s face, now without the mask, showed shock.

Still, she leaned back as Rean slashed with his sword, then jumped and landed lightly at the corridor entrance.

She was slightly closer to him.

She placed her left toe on the ground.

Then, she looked down at her right hand, which had just been stopped.

”──. Armor of the High-ranking Spirit. Are you a Contractor?”
