Rising-Monk v3c130

Volume 3 Chapter 130 Quest: Nameless Asura III

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Sarah and Kian fought back-to-back, protecting each other’s backs while focusing on attacks coming from the front.

The enemy darted freely in every direction—up, down, left, and right—sometimes releasing threads, sometimes slashing with their Shamshir. But every move was visible to the eye.

Kian and Sarah worked in perfect sync, deflecting attacks and spinning in place.

They leaped, faced each other briefly, then returned to their back-to-back stance, swapping positions seamlessly.

 ”…, …, …!!”

Sarah’s energy (ki) surged rapidly behind her, building up at incredible speed.

Her immense magic power erupted, and in the next instant, her overwhelming talent unleashed its full force.

 ’Thread.’

 ’Blast.’

She swung her sword, firing five shots.

Kian’s *Shot* was vastly different—the ground where his attacks hit exploded violently, as if a blast projectile had torn through it.

Given the speed and power of their attacks, the enemy had no room for mistakes. Their evasion options dwindled, and their attacks became fewer and farther between.

 ”…, ……! …!!”

When an opening appeared, Sarah unleashed her maximum magic power.

 Boom.

An enormous burst of magic power erupted from her, more than enough to envelop Kian.

She deployed her *threads* again, but this time they were different. They covered the entire courtyard sky, overwhelming in scope. While slashing, she pulled the threads with her other arm, tightening them to enclose the eight warrior monks.

Spotting an enemy unable to dodge, Sarah threw down a dark object and activated a *blast*.

 ”…!”

The enemy was blown away, rolling across the ground.

One warrior monk rushed to fill the gap, but Sarah’s Shamshir pierced his *Wall* and left eye, causing a blast in his temple. Blood sprayed everywhere as he staggered back, retreating.

 ”Oooooh!”

Shura charged at Kian, but Kian blew him away with the wind pressure of his Windsong Blade.

He drew his Misty Magic Sword to face the dog-eared Beastman who intervened.

 One Sword Draw Slash──.

An unexpected magic sword attack flashed in the dim pre-dawn light, piercing through the Beastman’s defense.

The Beastman dodged, but Kian’s follow-up wind blade sliced off his right leg, sending him crashing to the ground.

 ”────”

Kian threw down his Misty Magic Sword.

A Shamshir flew in from the side, but Kian deflected it and split the Beastman’s head in two.

The Shamshir sliced Kian’s shoulder in return, but the damage quickly healed.

 ”Yah!”

 Sarah swung her sword forcefully.

Using the advanced technique *Impact Tearing*, she shattered the enemy’s Shamshir and knocked off three heads with a single *Shot*.

 ”────!”

 ”Damn…”

Sarah’s strength and her magic sword’s special ability were overwhelming.

Shura’s group, who had honed their skills despite lacking talent, were half-destroyed by her power.

 Four were dead.

Of the remaining four, one had suffered severe injuries from Sarah’s *blast*—his left shoulder and carotid artery were damaged, and he writhed in agony.

Another had his left eye cut out, bleeding uncontrollably.

Only Shura and another tiger Beastman remained unharmed.

 ”Good skill.”

Sarah said, pointing her Shamshir at them.

”It’s surprising that someone so skilled remains unknown.”

Shura’s expression tightened, and he bared his teeth in a mix of frustration and defiance.

”So, the name ‘Azrael’s Death Sword User’ is well-earned.”

Shura bared his teeth in frustration. “However, we have won.”

 ”What──”

 Sarah frowned but quickly understood.

From the shadow of the snow-covered back mountain, a massive black insect monster emerged.

With countless wings and a long vertical abdomen, it easily exceeded ten meters in length.

The monster soared into the sky with a deep buzzing sound.

 ”Whoaaa!!”

Two nearly dead warrior monks charged forward, spilling blood.

Countless explosive devices were wrapped around their torsos, fuses already lit.

Sarah deployed her *Wall*, but Kian leaped forward, slashing the fuses off with his Misty Magic Sword.

Blood splattered as the warrior monk’s chest was cut open, and he collapsed.

By the time Kian scattered the bloodstained wind with his Windsong Blade, Shura and the others were fleeing toward the mountain.

 ”Wait!”

 ”──────! Kian, no!”

 Sarah pulled Kian back.

As he charged forward, numerous dark objects pierced the air ahead of him.

 ”Projectiles won’t work on me!”

 ”Up!”

Sarah gestured with her chin and kicked the ground.

A beat later, Kian looked up at the sky.

 Another dragonfly──.

But this one hadn’t come from the other side of the mountain.

Its position, direction, and speed indicated it had come from the swamp.

(Could it be Jibril’s reserve forces, sent to recover the Barghest data from the ‘Storm Herd’ camp?)

With a clenched jaw, Kian noticed numerous silver objects gleaming around the giant dragonfly in the dawn light.

 The second Shot, huh.

But ranged attacks don’t work on him at all.

He turned his attention to Shura’s side.

He used Windsong Blade to strike the dragonfly’s wing on their side, making the monster fall.

Rean is probably below, so if Serena falls, he’ll handle it somehow. Still, he can’t fully trust that, so he sent the last Wing Cain to assist.

He gave up on Collinna and Barghest.

 At least he’ll recover Serena.

If it’s Barghest, maybe he and Collinna can survive the impact of the fall—

’Kian, something’s coming! Jump back now!’

 ”――――!”

 The roof explodes.

A black object flies in, and as it hits the roof, it releases countless red slashes around it.

Kian blocks the red blades approaching him with Windsong Blade and deflects them with ‘impact’ wrapped in Misty Magic Sword.

 (Blood…!? Slashes made of blood!?)

He jumps to dodge the last blade flying toward his torso.

In front of him, at the center of the explosion, a woman in black light armor with an exposed back rises.

Her upper body is covered in a black bustier-like garment, with her shoulders and collarbones exposed. Her lower body wears culottes, black tights, and black boots. Long waist guards, like a mantle, hang from her hips, protecting her rear, thighs, and knees.

 ”――――.”

The woman adjusts her black hat, locks eyes with Kian, and calmly raises her paired short swords.

 Silver hair.

 Light blue eyes.

 Porcelain-like skin.
