Chapter 236 Yamato Hina and the Demon King Medinilla ㉟
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”An unfamiliar ceiling… or rather, I’m not even sure if this place has a ceiling at all,” I muttered.
When I came to, I was standing in a void shrouded in a thick, white mist. I found myself muttering that classic industry cliché, but the truth was, the place looked familiar. Actually, this was my third time here – I’d just managed to forget until this very second.
”Are? Goshujin-sama, where are we?”¹
”You’re asking me? It’s the afterlife, I guess. Or something like it,” I replied.
”Oh, I see… I guess I really did die. But at least I’m with you, Goshujin-sama! Ehehe.”
Honoka giggled happily and linked her arm with mine. Despite her petite frame, she pressed her massive breasts firmly against my arm. Soft as always.
…Wait a damn minute.
We were acting like this was perfectly normal, but why the hell was Honoka here? I knew she’d died with me, but I never expected her to end up in the exact same waiting room.
”Hahaha! You two certainly are close. Truly a wonderful thing.”
A voice rang out – deep, mellow, and hauntingly familiar. I spun around toward the sound and found a distinguished-looking man with silver hair dressed in a sharp white suit.
”It’s been a while, Sasaki Natsumi-kun. And I believe this is our first time meeting, young lady. As for who I am… well, you can just call me God.”
”O-Oh…” Honoka said quietly.
She was visibly weirded out. I mean, anyone would be if a stranger suddenly claimed to be God.
”If ‘God’ is too formal, you can call me Uncle.”
”Cut that out. It’s creepy,” I snapped.
If she called him that, it’d look like she was in some shady sugar-baby arrangement.
”H-Haha… he’s a bit of a weirdo, isn’t he? Um, I’m Narumi Honoka. I’m doing Goshujin-sama’s Servitude.”²
”Yes, I’m aware,” the man said. “The first girl to do Servitude with. I’m glad to see you’ve grown so fond of him.”
”Fond? Oh, I wouldn’t say…” Honoka stammered.
The old guy gave a suave smile. From his voice to his gestures, he really sold the act. And Honoka, stop blushing and wiggling your hips like that. You’re being way too calculated.
Anyway, moving on.
”Well, no sense in standing around. Why don’t we sit and have a proper chat?”
A table and chairs materialized out of thin air. On the table sat tea with milk and sugar, accompanied by a strawberry shortcake. I didn’t exactly have time for a tea party, though. If I didn’t get back soon, Mihiro and the others were dead meat.
Regardless of whether he sensed my panic, he continued. “There’s no need to rush. Time in Maginoia – that world – is virtually stopped. To be precise, a single second there is stretched into about twelve hours here.”
A 43,200-to-1 ratio? I’m pretty sure Medinilla’s max time compression was 3,600x, so this was twelve times more intense than that. I guess that meant we were safe… for now?
”Besides, this is also a bit of a celebration for you.”
”A celebration? We literally just died. Honoka too,” I said.
”Yeah, calling a death ‘something to celebrate’ just sounds like a nasty insult,” Honoka added.
She was on my side, but the old man didn’t back down. He simply made his point. “No, it truly is a celebration. Because you have both evolved into beings that have transcended humanity.”
* * *
According to the self-proclaimed God, because Honoka and I were killed by a max-level Demon King, we evolved from organic organisms into Aetheric Lifeforms.³ Essentially, our bodies were now constructed from the mana in the atmosphere. The easiest comparison would be spirits. Spirits normally can’t maintain a physical form for long; when defeated, they scatter into mana. Spirit Kings are the exception.
The previous two times I died, it took forever to repair my body. The first time, I was practically eaten, and it took three months to reform. The second time, the damage wasn’t as bad, so I popped back almost instantly.
And now, this time. Due to the constraints established by Aurelia, being defeated by a Level 99 Demon King pushed my Level to 100 via my Unique Skills. Since Level 100 is an impossible stat in Maginoia, I have become a Transcendental.
”To put it bluntly, you have one foot in the door of godhood. A Demi-god, so to speak. Check your Status for the details.”
”Then what about me?” Honoka asked. “I don’t have some crazy cheat skill like Goshujin-sama.”
”Young lady, you are doing Servitude to him, yes? When he died and you lost your physical shell, you became an Apostle – an angel in his service.”⁴
”Me? An angel!?” Honoka yelped in disbelief.
”That’s the gist of it. Now, these sweets are modeled after the finest patisseries from your old world. Shall we?”
Just as he said, the cake and tea were exquisite.
* * *
”By the way,” I said, after finishing my plate. Honoka was already on her third helping of a different flavor. “What about Lil, Leki, and my kids? Kin are like me, right? If I’m a Demi-god now, what happens to them? And the baby Lil is carrying?”
”Kin remain organic lifeforms until they lose their physical bodies through accident or age. Only then do they become Aetheric. The same goes for those under Servitude; they don’t become Apostles until they die once. As for your children, they are normal demi-humans. Or ‘beast-kin,’ to be more precise.”
I checked my Status while he talked. The digits were on a completely different scale. I’d have to sit down and study this later.
”What about a child with Honoka?”
Splutter!
Honoka started choking on her cake. “G-Goshujin-sama! What are you asking!?”
”It would be a normal human,” God replied. “However, for Transcendentals and Apostles, conception is nearly impossible. The probability is effectively zero… but you have the ‘Forced Pregnancy’ Skill, don’t you? In that case, you can have children without any issue.”
”H-Heehee… a baby with Goshujin-sama… hyaa… funyaaa…” Honoka turned beet red, looking like a dazed octopus.
”That reminds me,” God said, his tone shifting. “There are two problems with returning to Maginoia.”
”Problems?” I asked.
”First, Aurelia has a Gatekeeper. It’s set to ignore our interference, but it’s also set to Maginoia’s internal rules. Before, you were within those rules. Now, you’re a cosmic anomaly. The Gatekeeper will try to block you.”
”So I just have to break through it?”
”Exactly. That’s what your Authorities – your Unique Skills – are for. Also, your presence in that world has already caused distortions. People who shouldn’t exist are being born, and vice-versa.”
He continued, “The second problem: Honoka cannot manifest in Maginoia yet. There isn’t enough mana to construct a vessel for her soul.”
”Wait, does that mean I’m stuck here!?” Honoka cried.
”As it stands, yes. If you go back now, you won’t have a body.”
”No! I won’t stay away from Goshujin-sama! I can’t! My body… it’s already aching for him!”
Honoka’s training had made her entirely dependent on Natsumi. Without the pleasure he provided, she’d go mad in this void.
”Is there a way?” I asked.
”There is. You and Honoka need to engage in s*xual intercourse here. You need to use your energy to jumpstart her construction so she can manifest a body.”
So… we had to do it. Right here. In front of God.

Summary:
Following their death at the hands of Medinilla, Natsumi and Honoka find themselves in a white void where they meet God. God explains that Natsumi has evolved into a Level 100 Transcendental, while Honoka has become an Apostle. However, to return to the living world, they must overcome a divine Gatekeeper and manifest a body for Honoka through a s*xual ‘mana-charging’ ritual.
—
Trivia:
- This is Natsumi’s third time in this afterlife void.
- Time in the void is 43,200 times slower than in Maginoia.
- Natsumi’s level cap was broken specifically because he was killed by a Level 99 Demon King.
- Aurelia’s ‘summons’ of the class was actually a forced data transfer that distorted the original world’s reality.
- Transcendentals usually cannot conceive children, making Natsumi’s ‘Forced Pregnancy’ skill a biological loophole
—
Character Insight:
Natsumi is transitioning from a mere ‘cheat’ hero to a divine existence (Demi-god), granting him ‘Authorities’ rather than just skills. Honoka’s devotion has been literally codified into her soul as an ‘Apostle’ rank.
—
Behind the Scenes:
The ‘Unfamiliar Ceiling’ line is a reference to Neon Genesis Evangelion Episode 2. The mention of ‘Megaten’ refers to the Shin Megami Tensei game series, known for its Law/Chaos and Angel/Demon alignments.
