Vital-Master v2c12

Volume 2 Chapter 12

What do you picture when you think of a boss fight?

Maybe it’s that high-stakes wall in an RPG-the kind where you gear up to the teeth, buy every potion in the shop, and still get absolutely wrecked.

Or maybe it’s a “souls-like” encounter where one missed frame of animation means a one-way trip to the game-over screen. Then there are the bullet-hell nightmares where the screen is so clogged with projectiles you can’t even see a path to survival.

Out of all those grueling memories, the one that sticks with me most is a specific boss from a certain classic game. Just before the final encounter, the guy hits you with a massive, full-party wipe the literal second the fight starts. (Haha… normally, this is where we’d all be dead, right…?)

Right now, a wall of solid stone was hurtling toward us. Even with my thoughts overclocked by my skills, the wall was closing in at a speed meant to crush us into the floor.

This was a “noob-trap” mechanic-the kind of skill you’re only supposed to survive if you’ve stacked physical defense and layered every buff in your arsenal.

Between our high-end gear and the effects of my [Portio: Rod-Type Vital Point]¹, our defense was solid. We probably could have tanked the hit, but we would have been left with a sliver of health and a lot of regret.

Despite the crisis, I didn’t feel a hint of panic. Looking at my companions through the haze of my accelerated perception, I saw the same thing on their faces: absolute confidence. They knew this wouldn’t touch them.

 ”…Dungeon Energy Mastery².”

Mana’s voice was crystalline, rippling through the Boss Floor. The moment the words left her lips, the stone wall surging toward us stopped dead in its tracks.

She flicked her finger with an elegant twist, and the massive barrier simply dissolved into nothingness. Standing where the wall had been was a monster that looked like an Earth Golem scaled up ten times over-a Huge Earth Golem.

”Mana, your skills are a total cheat code against these cheap-shot mechanics,” I said. “I mean, they’re broken even when it’s a fair fight, but still…”

”Hehe, I suppose so,” Mana replied. “However, using it like that is a massive drain on my internal Dungeon Energy. I’m afraid I’ll be dead weight for the rest of this encounter.”

”Don’t even sweat it, Mana-chi! Leave the heavy lifting to me and Haruka-chi!” Minami-yo shouted.

”Indeed, Mana. Since we’re here, give us a chance to show off a little,” Haruka added. “Divine Imbuement³!”

Haruka’s Phase Zero Skill shrouded us in light. It was a skill built for shredding the undead, but the raw physical augmentation it provided was massive. Minami was the first to bolt forward, empowered by the buff.

 ”Wind-Step! Alright, here-I-GO!” Minami yelled.

She already moved like gravity was just a suggestion, but with her Phase One [Light Warrior] skill active, she became a literal blur. Even with my [Perception Enhancement], I could barely track her as she circled the giant. A flurry of invisible slashes rained down, and the Huge Earth Golem’s rocky legs began to splinter and crack.

”Fufufu, I suppose it’s my turn to join in,” Haruka said. “Sacred Armament!”

Haruka’s [Priest] Phase Two Skill encased her in a suit of glowing, transparent plate armor. She charged the titan, which was too busy trying to swat the buzzing fly that was Minami to notice her approach.

 ”Mace Smash!” Haruka cried.

She slammed her glowing mace into the golem’s ankle with a sickening crunch. The impact shattered the stone, sending the massive creature crashing to the floor. Minami and Haruka didn’t give it a second to breathe, unleashing a relentless assault on the downed boss.

”Mana, I’m going in to help,” I said.

”Understood. Just be careful, Kanade-kun!” Mana said.

 ”Un!”

I scrambled up the Golem’s thrashing hide, avoiding its desperate movements as I climbed toward its chest. (I can’t exactly go around buffing a Boss Monster during a rescue op, but it feels like a waste to use an Instant Death Vital Point this early… so let’s try this…)

 ”Adversarial Vital Point!” I shouted.

I struck the glowing debuff point on the Golem’s stomach. It was already reeling from the girls’ attacks, but once my debuff hit, the monster looked like it was breathing its last. I drew my [Lizard Fang Sword] and joined the others, and together we laid into the Huge Earth Golem until there was nothing left but rubble.

 Summary:

Kanade and his party confront a Huge Earth Golem capable of a devastating room-wide crush attack. Mana exhausts her energy to neutralize the opening strike, leaving the combat to Minami and Haruka. The group begins a coordinated assault to dismantle the giant while Kanade looks for a decisive vital point

 —

 Trivia:

 - The specific ‘certain game’ mentioned by Kanade is a subtle nod to classic JRPG final dungeon mechanics

 - Haruka’s mace glows specifically with holy light due to her Priest class augmentations

 - Kanade intentionally avoids using ‘Instant Death’ points to save resources or avoid over-powering during a rescue missio

 —

 Character Insight:

Kanade shows increased tactical restraint, choosing a debuffing vital point over an instant-kill to maintain party synergy, while Mana demonstrates a selfless willingness to burn her entire mana pool to protect the group from a ‘first-look’ wipe.

Notes:

• Mana – Kanade, Class President and one of the Four Heavenly Kings, is a Sage-job wielder and Dungeon Energy Master with a long black ponytail, glasses, and immaculate armor featuring bracers and leg guards; she trains the protagonist in close-quarters combat and pressure-point techniques, administers restorative liquid, and—being his top-favorite virgin—provides sexual release to counter aphrodisiacs, while aiding in catching intruders, now unconscious after a high-intensity session with Hirosawa. Her companion, a strategic and composed woman with a crystalline voice, shares Dungeon Energy Mastery, wearing a glossy black bodysuit that accentuates her form and reveals a calculating, protective nature toward Kanade, leading the party’s dungeon navigation through precise energy manipulation at great personal cost.

• Haruka – Izumi Haruka, known as “The Prince” or “Captain Haruka,” is a 3rd-floor Holy-type Priest wielding a mace and Sacred Armament, excelling in Divine Imbuement and spirit combat. Androgynously beautiful with a pinkish flush when flustered, she wears a sheer white Saint Lace Cloth, concealing severe burn scars from Slime Acid and a trauma-triggered obsession with Hirosawa’s scent that shatters her composure. Though academically brilliant and Mana’s close friend, she’s a logistics klutz, secretly a masochist who craves humiliation—evident in her quivering buttocks and submissive fantasies—despite her composed, modest exterior. She uses “boku,” has large breasts second only to Higuchi’s, and is the primary target of Kosaka’s stalking. Recently hospitalized after clashing with the protagonist, she now battles fractured self-control, torn between duty, trauma, and forbidden desire, excluded from his favor.

• Minami – Minami‑chan, the petite “Loli Princess” of the Four Heavenly Kings, sports blue twin‑tails, a fluffy skirted dress that reveals symbol‑marked cotton underwear and rope‑bound panties, and an eye mask. Flat‑figured and dual‑sword wielding, she leads the party’s speed, trains the protagonist in evasion, and seeks Kanade’s pain‑training—teasing her while enjoying being stretched and bullied. After Phase One an explorer’s “Sky‑Ripping Slash” exposed her underwear, now a benchmark for offensive power. She now sleeps, a fierce warrior and willing victim, fights in mermaid‑bikini armor, and calls Kanade “Kanade‑chi.” Energetic Light Warrior with weightless speed, Wind‑Step technique, cheerful demeanor, and exuberant affection.

• Kanade – A small-statured, calm, and analytical academy student and high-ranking adventurer known as Vital Point Master or Hirosawa-kun, he wields the Lizard Fang Sword and serves as the primary healer and buffer for his party, Resonant Melody, using precise pressure-point manipulation to heal, shield mana, and control combat dynamics. Wearing a Black Anaconda Suit, he shares deep emotional and physical bonds with his female companions, especially Minami; his virginity triggers involuntary erotic side-effects when first channeling Mana, forcing him to flee her advances, yet he remains devoted to protecting and supporting his team with unwavering precision and restraint.
