”Now, the real work finally begins,” I said.
”Indeed,” Mana replied. “This is a place where even Sakurako-san and I cannot afford to lower our guard.”
”You said it! The cheap, malicious traps might be gone, but the monsters from here on out are the real deal!”
Mana, Sakurako-san, and I turned our serious gazes toward Minami-chan, Haruka-san, and Maria-san. The three of them looked tense, but there was a steely glint in their eyes—the look of those who had made up their minds.
”Yeah, yeah… honestly, just getting this far was tough enough, but… Minami and the others, we want to try a little harder,” Minami-chan said.
”Yeah, that’s right,” Haruka-san added. “Honestly, we know we probably can’t keep up with you and Hirosawa-kun all the way to the final floor. But we want to experience that moment, from as close as possible… that’s what we want.”
”Exactly! We want to send our support to Kanade-sama from the front lines! We’re going to give it our all!”
My heart warmed at their resolve. If I could, I’d take them all the way to the very end. But that’s only assuming their safety could be guaranteed—which is a big “if.”
”Look, I know I might have scared you, but if I go all-out, I think I can protect you three up to around the 90th floor. Beyond that… we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.”
The 91st floor and beyond would become too dangerous even for Mana and Sakurako-san. The idea of us all proceeding further together seemed unlikely. But, well, that was a problem for when we actually reached that point.
”Yeah, Kanade-chi!”
”Got it, Hirosawa-kun.”
”Yes, Kanade-sama!”
With that, we stepped into the 76th floor, the entrance to the deepest reaches.
The 76th floor of the ‘Phase Six’ dungeon was completely submerged. It wasn’t just a level with some water; the entire zone was underwater. There was no land, only water in every direction—up, down, left, and right. You might think we’d just drown, but this is a dungeon world. We have [Dungeon Equipment] and [Dungeon Items] that allow us to function normally even while submerged.
Back in ‘Phase Three,’ Mana and the others used to wear [Mermaid Bikini Armor] a lot. It’s a classic look, but for ‘Phase Six,’ it just doesn’t cut it. Instead, we were equipped with the [Kraken Suit], dropped by the Galaxy Kraken—a massive squid-type monster found on this floor. It’s heavy on defense, blocks water-based attacks, and makes moving underwater feel easy. It lets you breathe underwater naturally, and for some reason, it even lets us talk as if we were on land.
But this equipment has one significant weakness. Because the suit is made of a semi-transparent, thin material, it leaves little to the imagination. As we swam through the crystal-clear water, flapping our hands and feet, everything shifted and moved—a view that truly tested my focus. It was the kind of environment that shattered concentration, yet this place was a den of vicious monsters befitting the ‘Phase Six’ deepest reaches.
”Gotcha.”
A fish-type monster, moving so fast it was invisible to the naked eye, tried to bore a hole through Minami-chan. I grabbed it with my bare palm and crushed it into nothingness before it could strike. Nearby, a shellfish-type monster tried to secretly release a tasteless, odorless poison into the water, targeting Maria-san. I slammed the water hard enough to send the toxin right back at it, then finished it off with a shockwave. At the same time, a shark-type monster, a good ten meters long, set its sights on Haruka-san. I swam toward it, intercepted it, and blew it away with a single, massive punch. They were strong, sure—but to someone like me, this floor wasn’t exactly a problem.
”…Oh, here comes a Galaxy Kraken. Sakurako-san, you want it?”
The Galaxy Kraken is a massive squid monster with blinding speed. Its tentacles are tricky to read, making it a pain to take down, but it’s a perfect match for Sakurako-san. With her speed, she barely takes a hit, and she can slice those tentacles off with ease.
”Yeah, I’ll take this one.”
Since she was raring to go, I left it to her.
”Then I’ll wipe out the trash mobs. Mana, if anything happens, keep an eye on the girls.”
”Understood.”
With our roles decided, I darted through the water, systematically erasing the monsters that had been trailing the Galaxy Kraken. Tentacles whipped toward me, but I just swatted them away until they disintegrated. Sakurako-san was doing the same, methodically severing every tentacle the Kraken had. It didn’t take long before she had it completely crippled.
”Looks like Mana and the others are doing fine, too…”
A few monsters had slipped past us, but the four girls—once known as the Academy’s “Four Heavenly Kings”—had incredible coordination. Their combined combat ability was far more than the simple sum of its parts.
”If we don’t count the threat of instant death, the girls’ combat ability when they’re with Mana is at the level of the final floor…”
But of course, you can never just ignore the danger. As I watched Sakurako-san shred the remaining body of the Galaxy Kraken, I turned my attention back to the fish-type trash mobs, turning them into smoke one after another.

• Mana – An alluring, black-ponytail A-Rank explorer and Resonant Melody sub-leader who serves as Kanade’s devoted partner and calm strategist. As a powerful “Heavenly King” skilled in Dungeon Energy and close-quarters cloak combat, she fights high-tier dragons and provides high-level coordination. A sweet-scented mentor to Aina, she guides her team through the dungeon with tactical reassurance.
• Minami-chan – Blue-haired, twintail academy idol and petite “Young Princess” of the Four Heavenly Kings, this cute, sadomasochistic Light Warrior uses wind magic and twin swords. Innocent yet reliable, she is a skilled scout inside the dungeon. Devoted to Kanade, she cherishes Mana, Haruka, and Sakurako, and playfully calls Maria “Maria-chi.”
• Haruka-san – An androgynous, handsome beauty with a large bust and severe burn scars, Izumi Haruka (Haruka-san) is “The Prince” of the Four Heavenly Kings. A dungeon explorer with physical enhancement skills, this 3rd-floor Priest uses “boku” and is a hospitalized, stalked masochist. Loyal to her partner, she is Mana’s trusted friend, has a fixation on Kanade who healed her, and suffers Hirosawa’s skills.
• Maria-san – Blonde, tanned “Dark Gyaru” Maria Higuchi, nicknamed “Boob Gal,” is a busty, high-durability tank explorer wielding a greatsword for the “Headlong into Gyaru” team. Missing her lower left arm, she wears tiger-skin hot-pants and a bikini top. A member of the Four Heavenly Kings, she is deeply devoted to her partner Haruka and was the first to fall in love with her teammate Kanade.
• Haruka – Tall, handsome, and short-haired, Haruka (“The Prince”) is an androgynous, voluptuous Holy Priest with a well-trained physique and hidden burn scars. A stoic, masochistic vanguard for Resonant Melody, she wields a massive mace with divine grace. She manages security alongside Maria and joins Mana’s rescue party, but melts into intense, submissive vulnerability around her obsession, Hirosawa.
• Minami – Blue-haired, twintail academy idol and petite “Young Princess” of the Four Heavenly Kings, this cute, sadomasochistic Light Warrior is a completely groomed, dual-blade vanguard and scout for Kanade’s dungeon party. Resolute in danger, she uses wind magic to keep pace. Devoted to Kanade, she cherishes Mana, Sakurako, and Haruka—with whom her grooming is compared—and teases Maria.
• Maria – Maria is a voluptuous, dark-skinned blonde Dark Gyaru and one-armed Transcendent greatsword warrior. As New Tokyo’s elite vanguard and Resonant Melody’s high-spirited defensive tank, she boasts well-trained, powerful muscles. Affectionate, playful, and sexually responsive, she shares a guild home, supports Mana, partners intimately with Kanade, and is deeply devoted to the narrator.
• Hirosawa – Kanade Hirosawa is a quiet, cute teen Dungeon Explorer and commander of Resonant Melody. Mastering his lineage, this young man possesses a pressure-point cheat skill, including a Pressure-Point Eye, used with a Goblin Sword. Calm, confident, and somewhat lecherous, he anchors his partner Haruka by controlling her impulses via a scent bond and awakened Aina’s ability, occupying her thoughts.
• Kanade – Kanade Hirosawa is a composed, silver-haired A-Rank Explorer with amber eyes and a small body. As Resonant Melody’s protagonist, assault leader, and guide, this weary young man uses high-level perception, physical augmentation, and bare-handed combat. He employs pressure points to heal, stimulate, or manipulate enemy stats and drop rates, anchoring his party of five powerful women as Maria’s boyfriend.
• Dungeon – An artificially‑created, androgynous‑beautied woman, once an S‑Class Dungeon Explorer, now serves as the Guild Master of the Dungeon Explorer Guild. She administers a hyper‑advanced dungeon, leading and guiding its members, and is known as the Dungeon Master, wielding authority that shifts with each dungeon phase, her beaming smile a constant hallmark.
