Volume 11 Chapter 2 The Battle Against the Demonkin
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
That was easier said than done.
Morning sunlight seeped through the gaps in the tent. He stared blankly at the ceiling, lost in thought.
If there were no flaws in the information gathered so far, the enemy acting as the Chosen One was likely Parl. According to Hanover, even the assault on Sand and the sabotage behind the conflict between the three countries were spearheaded by Parl. In other words, he was effectively the one who drove the Cianie of his past life to her death. He was a target he needed to strike down immediately, but…
”It’s not like Bandanzine is going to go down without a fight, is it.” Klock muttered, his voice flat and weary.1
The conflict between the Demonkin and humans was a hurdle that had to be cleared with haste. Before Klock could even think about fighting Parl, he had to deal with the immediate problem: the Demon Lord’s Army. The final showdown with Bandanzine. The skirmishes between the Succubus and the Vampire had reached a conclusion, but the climax of this war was still ahead of them.
”Mm, Bandanzine is a formidable foe. The man leading the main force of the Demon Lord’s Army won’t let us win so easily.” Primlena whispered, her voice soft against the morning air.
A soft smack echoed, and stray strands of hair tickled his thighs. Straddling him while he lay there in nothing but his underwear, the orange-haired princess was busy servicing him with her mouth. A daughter of the sea turned her massive buttocks toward him, filling her cheeks with his rod. Even a man of his focus couldn’t help but be pulled in by the weight of her hips.
”Ending the war between the Succubus and the Vampire is a clear achievement. But the real fight starts here. Those guys aren’t so soft that they’ll retreat just because the Outsiders were taken care of.” Primlena added, her tone still hushed and intimate.
”Well, yeah, that’s true. They are the strongest in the world right now, after all, the Demonkin.” Klock replied, his words laced with a cynical edge.
”That’s right. At least, there hasn’t been a single human race on this continent that could stand against them. Brace yourself. Since the Vampire lost, they’ll be getting serious too.” Primlena warned him, her expression turning somber.
Once again, his c**k sought entry into her warm mouth. The tip was coated in a slick, wet trail. A tongue that had learned to attack with a persistent, sticky intensity. The oral techniques of the priestess, which had been improving day by day, pulled a deep sigh from his chest.
Primlena had come to wake him up in the morning. Showing off her quality as a devoted wife, she started blowing him the moment he opened his eyes.
He pulled down her lower garments, which looked for all the world like a swimsuit. With just one piece of fabric removed, that lustful mouth was laid bare. He returned the favor by kissing her lower lips. He covered that nectar-filled slit with his mouth, and as he hugged her, he reached his climax.
”Come here, a little more.” Klock urged, his voice low and hungry.
”Mm, no. You’re going to Orrid, aren’t you? Mm, you need to wake up and lead the charge—” Primlena protested gently, her breath hitching.
”Just one more time.” Klock insisted, his gaze locking onto hers.
He pinned her down as she did her best to swallow. He pressed his rod against the slick folds of the merfolk and forced his way inside with a wet shluck. He tore off her bra, buried his face in her bountiful breasts, and breathed deeply, seeking solace.
”…J-just one time, okay…♡” Primlena whimpered, surrendering completely to his touch.
She accepted him, pulled him close, and patted his head with a comforting, loving rhythm. Primlena was sweet, and she always ended up saying yes. A woman who wouldn’t refuse was devastatingly cute. But that cuteness only made him want to push his luck. He indulged in the softness of her giant butt, licked and sucked at her breasts. While kissing her, he put his weight into it and emptied himself inside her without restraint. Begging for more, the merfolk accepted it all, and he pushed his hips in again and again, planting his seed deep.
In the end, it took about an hour, and he finished inside her three times without a break. Even though they were at a campsite, they spent their morning engaged in serious, passionate lovemaking. They lost track of time, and slowly, the merfolk began to cling to him with a sweet, desperate need. He held the now-drained, whimpering Primlena and closed his eyes for a little break. He used his arm as a pillow, pulled her into his embrace, and kissed her forehead.
That was when someone stormed into the tent.
A lupine growl echoed beneath the canvas.
It was like a wife bursting in on a scene of infidelity. Rosetta stood tall before the bed. She didn’t say a word. She just glared down at the two of them—who hadn’t bothered to wake up—with a face of pure, unfiltered displeasure, baring her thick canines.
Primlena scrambled up with the grace of a fish tossed onto a dock, sitting straight in a formal position. His rod, pulled out with a wet shluck, bounced against her stomach, and Rosetta’s muzzle quivered like a canine seconds away from an attack. Just like that, he was torn away from one lover and dragged out by another.
Outside the tent were the sisters of his disciples. Kaitney looked awkward the moment she saw Klock, while Rachel just stuck her tongue out in a mock threat. It seemed they had come to wake them before Rosetta arrived. They must have been standing there in a daze, watching the situation unfold until Rosetta appeared.
Primlena was led away by Kuzuha while looking slightly embarrassed. Klock was dragged toward the meeting hall by Rosetta, who kept snapping at him, as he was pulled from the dreamlike time on the bed back to harsh reality.
”Viola? You… what about the sunlight?” Klock asked, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
”Mm, a clone.” Viola replied, her tone indifferent.
In the meeting hall, Klock found the Vampire Princess sitting among the Beastkin as if it were the most natural thing in the world. The girl in the black robe and blonde hair was slumped over the desk, completely wiped out. She was far too adapted, far too relaxed. Was this really the opponent they had been locked in a fierce battle with just days ago?
”What are you doing attending a military council? Don’t tell me you intend to fight?” Klock demanded, looking at her with genuine confusion.
”Well, I was just curious to see how you guys would talk about it. When I asked if I could watch out of interest, they said it was okay.” Viola explained, not bothering to lift her head from the desk.
He wondered if a military council was really something one could just join that easily. As expected of the Beastkin. Their environment had zero information control. Because they had such a keen sense of smell, they probably hadn’t even considered the risk of a spy infiltrating their ranks.
”Now then, we are departing shortly. Let’s reconfirm the march plan.” Rosetta announced, her voice ringing out with authority.
Rosetta raised her high-pitched voice toward the rows of Beastkin generals. At that one shout from the petite girl, the gazes of the burly warriors focused on her in unison. Despite her adorable appearance, she commanded an absolute charisma. Not a single person looked at her with doubt as she ran the meeting. This was the King of the Wolfkin.
Under her command, the meeting concluded without a hitch. They began the march north. Their destination was the first fortress, the Star Fort. By the afternoon, they had departed Sanrid, and Klock and the others finally began to advance toward Orrid.
”Hey. Can you stop flirting right in front of me?” Kuzuha snapped, her voice dripping with irritation.
It was several hours after they had left Sanrid.
The Beast Country army was moving in a long, winding column. Mixed into that was the group of carriages carrying Klock and his party. Inside, a hostile atmosphere was brewing.
”Flirting? Who are you talking about?” Klock countered, feigning innocence.
”Who else would I be talking about, you stupid wolf?” Kuzuha shot back, eyes narrowing.
”I’m just lying down, you know?” Rosetta growled, not moving from her spot.
”Then stop getting all clingy and get away from that idiot right now. And you! Stop touching her breasts, you pervert!!” Kuzuha yelled, pointing an accusatory finger.
Klock was squeezed into the back of a cargo carriage. The attendant with him, naturally, was Rosetta. Or rather, this troop was led by Rosetta, and the Brigante Troop was only a small fraction. If anything, Klock was the one acting as Rosetta’s attendant.
Klock sat on the long bench in the cargo area. The wolf girl was sprawled out across his lap, using his knees as a pillow. The man was absentmindedly fondling her small, protruding breasts as if to expose them. The wolf girl let him do as he pleased, while she reached out to stroke his neck and face, purring with affection. To anyone, it looked like they were flirting.
Watching the two of them with an irritated face was the black-furred fox princess sitting across from them. She bared her fangs and growled, but the wolf girl’s fangs before her were thicker. The merfolk princess with the beautiful orange fins was also there, but she remained silent, trying to act like she was part of the furniture. She glanced at the Beastkin girls and sighed, looking uneasy. Alice was the same, but it seemed Primlena also found these two intimidating.
Kuzuha started to stand up.
Was it a protest? Or was she trying to displace Rosetta and take Klock’s side?
Before she could, the wolf girl bared her fangs and growled. With just a shift of her gaze, she exerted silent pressure, telling Kuzuha to sit down. Stunned by the wolf’s warning, Kuzuha froze. She glared back with a frustrated look on her face.
For a brief moment, the Fox Princess stood there. After a silent standoff, Kuzuha gave up and sat back down. Her expression was full of anger, looking extremely dissatisfied. This… was the battle of women.
”Hey, Rosetta. Did you get a little bigger?” Klock asked, his voice casual.
A carefree remark shattered the tense atmosphere. The man kept massaging Rosetta’s soft, squishy breasts.
”Hmph, you noticed? They’ve started to swell over these past two months. I guess it’s true that your breasts grow when you have a child.” Rosetta purred, looking quite pleased.
Even if she said they were bigger, they were still quite small compared to the Fox Princess over there. She really was a bit too young to be pregnant, wasn’t she? Trying to become a mother with such a petite build. He had complicated feelings about it, but as the one who put her in this state, he had no right to say anything.
He stared intently at the wolf girl. Noticing the gaze, Rosetta curled the corners of her mouth and smirked, “Hmph.”
”What is it, Klock? Curious if I’m going to start producing milk?” Rosetta teased, rolling up her clothes slightly.
”Hey. We’re right here, you know?” Kuzuha protested again, clearly losing her patience.
”Hmph.” Rosetta scoffed, her gaze mocking.
Kuzuha was pregnant with Klock’s child, just like Rosetta. Primlena had been with Klock just a short while ago. In other words, Rosetta felt the need to show them who was at the top of the hierarchy.
”Here, Klock. Touch my stomach.” Rosetta commanded, guiding his hand to her belly.
”Your child is here. Our new family. I can’t wait for them to be born!!” Rosetta declared, her eyes shining with excitement.
”Y-yeah, you’re right…!!” Klock muttered, feeling slightly overwhelmed.
Saying that, Rosetta climbed onto Klock, straddling him and cuddling into him. She playfully bit his ear. While squirming from the ticklish sensation, Klock caught a glimpse behind the Wolf Princess to see the fox girl trembling with her eyes squeezed shut. Beside her, Primlena looked away, as if she couldn’t bear to watch.
That anger would probably be taken out on Klock later. Especially Kuzuha, who had saved Klock at the Crimson Spire. Normally, he should be expressing his heartfelt gratitude to her and making time for just the two of them. He needed to prepare himself to be bitten all over later. While receiving Rosetta’s caress as she licked his neck, Klock looked up at the sky.
”Reporting!!” A voice cut through the air.
A little while later.
It happened while Rosetta was maintaining her monopoly, napping on Klock’s lap. A subordinate Beastkin called out from the back of the carriage.
”We have been ambushed by the enemy force!! We are in a state of combat at the front!!” The subordinate shouted, his tone urgent.
”What?! An ambush??” Rosetta barked, springing up with force.
”Impossible. I told them to be careful, yet they allowed an ambush? Were the ones in the front line marching while holding their noses…?” Rosetta grumbled, her frustration boiling over.
”That… apparently, it’s a report that the enemy has suddenly appeared…”
To think the Beastkin allowed a surprise attack. No—perhaps he should instead be impressed by the Demonkin, who successfully pulled off such an ambush.
”Move out, Klock!! Princess Kuzuha, the goldfish, wait here. If enemies appear in the middle or rear flanks, handle them.”
He stopped Kuzuha and the others as they attempted to follow. With a swift order, Rosetta darted ahead. Klock moved to follow, but then—
”Wait. Take this.”
Kuzuha handed him something. A paper cutout in the shape of a person. A shikigami2, if he recalled. It was likely similar to the spell she had placed on him during the curse-marriage. He curved his lips into a smirk at her consideration, despite being separated. Kuzuha just turned away with a huff.
Losing sight of the unnaturally fast wolf-girl, he aimed for the front line. That was when a sudden, violent gust of wind slammed into him.
”…What was that…?”
He was exposed to intense wind pressure. He frowned, the sensation feeling just like a direct hit from Wind Magic. But there was no time to dwell on it; he forced himself to keep running. Then, suddenly, Klock’s legs gave out… and he dropped to his knees.
”Th-this is—”
He tried to rise, but his knees wouldn’t stop shaking. His breathing grew ragged, labored by overwhelming exhaustion.
”Could it be… Debilitating Toxin…–“
–BOOM!–
An explosion rang out from the front. A scorching hot wind followed, and the sheer power of the blast sent a chill down his spine. He gritted his teeth and forced his body up, finally managing to regain his feet. It seemed the Magic was cast from too far away; the effect of the poison was weak. Realizing the fatigue was already fading, he pushed forward toward the vanguard.
”Roldi is here…!!”
The smell of burnt meat filled the air, intermingled with the scent of singed vegetation. Fires flickered like scattered campfires. The earth was charred black, as if seared by a flamethrower. And there, Beastkin soldiers lay collapsed, as if mowed down.
”Where is the enemy…??”
He reached the front of the formation, but there was no sign of the enemy. The report had mentioned a surprise attack, but he hadn’t been told who they were. He had assumed it was an army, but there was nobody—only fallen allies.
”Klock. The enemy is the Demonkin’s Magic Cavalry.”
”Magic Cavalry??”
Rosetta had arrived first. An armored Demonkin lay slumped at her feet. She had managed to catch up and take one down.
Magic Cavalry. A unit that rode horses and fired spells from the saddle. Humans might not employ them, but he had heard rumors of their existence. So, the scorch marks were the result of Fire Magic.
”Where did the enemy go??”
”They vanished. By the time I turned around, they were already gone.”
”Gone… you lost them on flat ground like this? And there were a lot of them, right?”
Looking around, the terrain was a flat, open plain. The grass wasn’t even high enough to hide a horse, even if the soldiers had dismounted. It should be impossible to vanish in a place like this. Unless—
”Just before they vanished, I felt magical light covering them. It was likely teleportation.”
”Teleportation… they teleported an entire troop…??”
”There is no other explanation. Though, even I find it absurd.”
So this was what they meant by being bewitched by a fox. Teleporting even a single person consumes a massive amount of magic power, yet the Demonkin had apparently used it to shuttle an entire troop back and forth.
No, that was insane. Teleporting one or two people is exhausting enough. To do it with an entire unit? Was such a ridiculous tactic even possible?
The Demon Lord’s Army’s military application of Magic technology is peerless. They had even provided Suzette with functional Magic scrolls for teleportation; it wouldn’t be strange if they had perfected it for military use. It wouldn’t be strange, but still…
”If they can teleport entire troops, it’s a terrifying threat. If our scouts can’t detect these ambushes, our advance is incredibly dangerous.”
Rosetta’s words silenced him. She was right. If they could move troops via teleportation, the impossible situation of not knowing where the enemy might appear became a reality. Even if there were no enemies right now, they could be surrounded by tens of thousands in five minutes.
He scanned the area. There were quite a few injured, crying out in pain from the burns. How many had died? This attack would surely shake the entire troop. This was bad. If word of this spreads, morale could collapse in an instant.
”No, Rosetta. Let’s view this as an opportunity.”
”…An opportunity??”
They couldn’t afford to stall here. To Rosetta, who looked thoughtful, he showed a positive attitude.
”Getting ambushed on the plains is a pain, but the fact that they attacked with a small group means it was just a feint. The goal must be to delay us.”
If they knew they reclaimed Sanrid, it wouldn’t be strange for the Demon Lord’s Army to consider a retreat. It’s highly likely they gathered intel and chose to head north toward the Great Wall Corridor. This is just a scheme to slow them down.
”Indeed. Such petty attacks are undoubtedly for time-buying. Are they trying to run?”
”Or, Orrid might be on the verge of falling. If so, they need to hurry. If they move now, they might still make it.”
That Debilitating Toxin was definitely Roldi’s handiwork. To use Roldi for this—there’s a clear intent. This skirmish is nothing but a scratch to an army of thirty thousand. He couldn’t believe their goal was to inflict casualties. It’s more logical to think they were trying to sow panic among the Beast Country forces to cause a delay.
”Alright, let’s move out quickly. Toss the injured into the carriages and tend to them on the move.”
Knowing the enemy’s hand was a massive plus. If they could still make it in time, it was almost as if they handed them the intel themselves. Still, going in without a plan would be reckless.
”We need countermeasures for the teleportation and the Debilitating Toxin.”
Rosetta took command, and they returned to the carriages. Together with Primlena and Kuzuha, they held a quick war council on the matter.
”This is incredibly troublesome. I’ve never heard of an army that teleports.”
”Is such a thing even possible?”
”If they are doing it, then it is possible. They teleport in, strike at close range, and unleash a cloud of toxic wind. This is nearly impossible to deal with.”
Deflecting physical attacks isn’t hard. But defending against poison carried on the wind is a different story. Kuzuha, for once, was clutching her head. Primlena shook her head, stating she’d never heard of such a tactic, and Rosetta furrowed her brow.
”Charlotte is in the rear troop. We should bring her here and have her help us think.”
”Hmm? Why Charlotte?”
”Harpies are clever. I’m sure she’ll come up with something.”
”If you say that, the girl will just end up crying.”
The wolf princess seemed to have given up on thinking, finding it all too troublesome. Placing such unreasonable expectations on Charlotte… He wondered how she would react if she heard this.
”In that case, why not put the Harpies on the front line?”
”The Harpy troop? Why? They are few in number, so they should be with the supply train—”
”No, if we’re talking about aerial units, ambushes won’t work as well. The ground-based Beastkin soldiers might still take fire, but attacking from the sky shouldn’t be easy. At the very least, it should be easier to counterattack, right?”
”…I see. That’s it. Let’s do that.”
Rosetta snapped her fingers, an instant decision.
With Magic, it would be possible to fire upward. It was not perfectly safe. But compared to the small-shielded Beastkin infantry, the Harpies would be at a far greater advantage.
But the real problem was Roldi. As long as that Majin existed, the entire troop was in constant danger.
What were they to do about him? If they didn’t deal with him, the next attack might not be as light as this one. Soldiers rendered defenseless by the toxic state wouldn’t even be able to fight back. If they come in larger numbers next time, they could lose hundreds, maybe thousands.
Following Rosetta’s orders, the Harpies were repositioned. Additionally, as a temporary measure, Kuzuha was moved to the vanguard. The reason: the wind. To counter Roldi’s toxic wind, they would use Kuzuha, who could manipulate wind herself. But there was no guarantee the enemy would appear in front of them again.
They had to hurry north. But between the enemy’s troublesome abilities and the fear of more ambushes, the pace of the Beast Country army slowed down naturally. Falling perfectly into the enemy’s scheme, the Beast Country army reached the Fortress of Stars by nightfall.

Summary:
Klock enjoys a series of intimate encounters with Primlena at their campsite until Rosetta interrupts them, leading Klock to a military council meeting. After the council, the party departs Sanrid for the Star Fort while traveling in carriages. Tensions boil over between Klock’s various pregnant or devoted partners during the journey, culminating in a sudden report of an enemy ambush.
The Beast Country army is blindsided by a high-mobility Demonkin Magic Cavalry unit that utilizes teleportation and toxic wind to sow chaos. Klock and Rosetta organize a quick, desperate war council to adapt their formation and counter these guerrilla tactics. Despite their efforts to regain initiative, the enemy’s psychological warfare and tactical strikes succeed in slowing their advance toward the Fortress of Stars.
