Yariyuu v1c2-4

Volume 1 Chapter 2-4 Unjustified Revenge

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

”…Hey, Heysl. Can you talk to her for a bit? She gets upset when she talks to me.”

”Eh? It’s fine. Oh? What’s wrong, little lady? Did he do something to you?”

Heysl spoke casually, not knowing she was a hero.

Zol stepped up behind him to follow.

They were adventurers. Even though their level was low, they had some status in society.

But really, they were just rough guys. Useless, like trash.

Heysl talked in a friendly way, like a big brother, but deep down, he was just a jerk. It was all fake.

”You smell like booze. Don’t come close, trash.”

 ”…Eh?”

 They walked toward the hero.

But then, someone stepped out from behind her.

They were short and had a sword at their side. Probably a swordsman.

”…What’s your deal? Yapping so much—I’ll hear you out, then.”

Heysl raised his voice right away.

Not because he was short-tempered, but because he thought yelling worked when things got messy.

He believed weak people would shut up if he threatened them.

In short, he looked down on people.

 ”You’re not needed. Disappear, trash.”

”…Eh? Hey, hey, who’re you calling trash, you little brat—”

The short girl ignored him, and that made Heysl lose it.

As Heysl tried to yell again, a sudden gust of wind blew.

 ”Eh?”

The strange voice came from no one in particular.

Then, there was a loud cracking sound nearby.

Klock turned and saw part of the inn’s wall broken.

Someone had been thrown right through it.

He blinked again and again, thinking his eyes were playing tricks.

From the wall, Heysl’s legs were sticking out.

”Huh?! What the hell is this?!”

 Zol shouted, shocked.

Totally normal reaction. Even Klock had his mouth open.

They probably thought the women were just part of the hero’s party.

Sure, they figured they were strong. But they didn’t expect this strong.

The dwarf knight had done it.

Even though she was short, she’d punched Heysl so hard he flew through a wall.

It was the first time Klock saw someone stab a house.

That was monster-level strength. Maybe even like an orc elder.

 What the hell?!

How could a tiny girl do that?

Now that the nuisance was gone, the hero stepped forward.

Her killing intent locked onto Klock like a knife.

This was bad. Like blink-and-you-die kind of bad.

If he had to move, now was the only chance.

 ”Wait, Zol! Don’t attack!”

Klock grabbed Zol’s shoulder. The guy looked like he was about to bolt.

Klock said him to stop her—but, he didn’t want Zol to mess with the swordswoman.

”Huh?! What’re you doing?! Let go, idiot!!”

 ”Wait! Don’t fight them!!”

Klock knew how stupid it sounded.

Even as he said it, he touched the back of Zol’s neck.

With a swirl of magic, he used his best skill.

 Skill activated: Bandit (Plunder).

 ”You’re in the way.”

 ”Ugh?!”

At almost the same moment the skill went off, Zol flew through the air.

He slammed into the wall next to Heysl with a loud crash.

”W-Wait! We haven’t even said anything yet, right?!”

Klock shouted, flustered, trying to buy time.

But the swordswoman’s cold stare hit him like a blade.

Even without seeing her face, he felt it—she looked at him like he was trash.

Maybe she thought he was a terrible guy.

Kinda rude for a first meeting.

”…The nuisance is gone, Anna. If you’re going to do it, get it over with. You’re cutting off the past, right?”

 Cutting off the past.

So from the beginning, she never planned to talk.

She only came here to spill blood.

Was she really that mad at him?

 ”…Mm.”

The hero gave a short reply.

Her sword shined, even in the dim light. The tip aimed straight at him.

She’d already made up her mind.

 Her lips were shut tight.

──…No. I’m not dying over something this dumb.

The unsheathed sword gleamed, hungry for Klock’s blood.

It looked sharp enough to slice through bone in one swing.

If she hit him, his head would be gone. No time to suffer.

Still, people don’t go down easy.

 Especially not thieves.

They’re the kind who really don’t want to die.

Maybe the Klock she remembered was different.

But the man standing here now wasn’t that guy.

”…If you have any last words, I’ll hear them.”

”…Sorry, but I don’t remember anything. Also, I’d really like not to die for such a stupid reason. I thought it was just a dog bite. Forget about it, okay?”

 ”…Right.”

 She looked disappointed.

But that didn’t stop her. She was still going to do it.

In one second, the blade would fall.

If he was going to act, it had to be now.

 ────Activate: Escape (Emergency Egress)

Not many people were born with special skills.

Klock’s power let him steal almost anything. He’d always thought it was useful.

Today, it felt like a gift from the gods.

 ”──Huh?”

The woman’s hand reached out in panic—but only grabbed air.

The man disappeared in a burst of light.

Right before he vanished, she saw his deep sapphire eyes.
