Volume 6 Chapter 29 The Other Person Who Waits *
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The morning sun poured softly through the kitchen windows, bathing everything in a gentle warmth. Cianie stood by the counter, an apron tied around her waist, her ash-colored hair catching the light like strands of translucent silk.
”Good morning, Klock,” she greeted quietly.
He leaned in from behind, slipping his arms around her waist. “Oh, morning to you,” he murmured softly.
Tilting her head slightly, Cianie glanced back at him. “I’m just getting ready, so wait for me,” she said, a playful tone in her voice.
Birdsong drifted faintly through the open window. Klock pressed closer, his hands resting gently on her hips. His lips brushed the hollow at her ear, a soft warmth against her skin.
”What gives?” he whispered. “Wake up and you’re gone. That’s pretty lonely, y’know.”
”I was thinking I’d fix breakfast,” she replied without turning around.
He smiled to himself. Men who spent the night with a woman often hoped for one of two things: to make breakfast together before she woke, or to stay wrapped in each other’s warmth until her eyes opened. Living together might make the first acceptable—but Klock preferred the lazy comfort of the latter.
As their conversation drifted softly, his hands found hers and clasped them gently. The sensation brought a quiet happiness, like sinking into a well-loved chair. He caught the faintest trace of her scent—a delicate, elusive sweetness—as he pressed his body more firmly against hers.
Cianie’s lips curved into a shy smile, but she said nothing. It was enough.
His fingers slid under the hem of her simple nightwear, moving up until they found the smooth fabric beneath. The cool texture teased his skin as he traced soft circles with his middle finger.
A quiet rustle filled the room.
Cianie’s face flushed, and she looked down to hide the pleasure she felt. Her body responded swiftly; he could tell she was already ready. Just like yesterday, her desire seemed to ignite with little provocation.
A soft murmur escaped her lips. “Nn… huh♡”
Without hesitation, Klock slipped down his trousers and gently moved aside her underwear. Morning was made for closeness—warm, unrestrained connection.
Men often sought freedom in the morning, after careful gentleness at night.
He began moving his hips in slow, steady motions, unrestrained and urgent. It was less lovers’ passion and more the natural rhythm of two bodies accustomed to one another—connection as natural and necessary as breathing.
Her response was immediate. “…Huh, nn…”
Her muscles tightened gently around him, heightening every sensation. The warmth and softness of her body doubled his pleasure, every motion driving him deeper.
Klock’s mind wandered briefly, imagining a life together—a home filled with warmth and laughter. The thought was fleeting but comforting.
This raw, messy desire felt better than the delicate tenderness of last night’s quiet evening. He craved the casual, the effortless.
While setting aside all the words he could not say to Cianie, he relished the feel of her body pressed close against his own. Whatever their complicated history, she was more than an acquaintance now.
Once she belonged to him in any way, he wanted to mark her completely—to color her with his touch, until she invited him by simply sliding her underwear aside.
Suddenly, his hips jerked sharply back. A warm release spread between them.
The thought crossed his mind briefly: was this too soon? Or maybe she welcomed the closeness they shared.
The chaotic swirl of emotions in his head scattered like lightning.
Every argument, every tension—they dissolved in the heat of their embrace. He gave himself fully, pulsing until the last tremor faded, then continued to move slowly, savoring the fullness of her body pressing back.
Afterward, he pulled away slightly, breath catching. “Whew. Then, I’ll take a quick bath.”
Cianie’s voice stopped him. “…Mh, wait.”
Pleasure wasn’t only found in intimacy. A morning bath held its own quiet luxury—warm water to soothe tired limbs and clear the mind. It was a rare indulgence, only possible when there was time and a proper home.
Just as Klock moved to satisfy that next desire, she sank to her knees before him. When a woman knelt like that, there was only one thing he could expect.
”Eh—ah… mm♡”
His body tensed as a familiar warmth enveloped him. Her tongue curled around him, tracing every inch in practiced rhythm. After so many times, the motion was second nature.
His hips began to move instinctively, pulling back even as her hands held him tight. From tip to base, every nerve ignited in a relentless wave of pleasure.
”Whoa, Cianie. Take it slow,” he said, placing a hand gently on her head.
She looked up at him with a soft “Mm,” before resuming her eager, steady motions.
The sensitivity of his body made the sensations intense—her tongue flicking over him like a soft flame.
He remembered how, even years ago, she had this skill. Whenever they met at their secret hideout, she’d kiss him hard and then move immediately to this—an almost instant devotion.
Despite the years, her technique hadn’t faltered. The cling of her tongue, the gentle suction of her lips—they spoke of frantic effort, even love.
Her mouth was like a warm bath, comforting and enveloping.
She bobbed her head steadily, tirelessly. Soon, Klock’s body tensed again, ready for a second release.
Spurt after spurt, the warmth flowed freely. The volume surprised him, and a flicker of worry passed through his mind—was it okay for her to take so much?
She ignored it, closing her eyes with a slight furrow of her brow and swallowing every drop with practiced ease.
Her lips deepened their attention, coaxing the length to the base. If she had to, she could take it all the way back without hesitation. Ordinary women might gag, but not Cianie.
Half-playfully, she rolled her tongue around him as the waves ebbed away, letting the warmth settle inside her.
Even after the pulses stopped, she continued to mouth him softly, wrapping the length in her cheeks. Short, popping sucks felt deliciously comforting.
Her warmth kept him from cooling too quickly. By the time she finally released him, a faint spark for another round already flickered within.
”…Wanna go again?” she asked quietly.
Klock shook his head. “No, let me take a bath first.”
He felt a shift—a new boldness in her that hadn’t been there before. Looking down at her lips, slightly swollen and irresistibly tempting, he thought about how easily she gave herself to him—letting him inside without hesitation, caring for him afterward with tenderness.
Cianie was too good a woman.
For someone who demanded a serious relationship so forcefully, why did she feel so comforting?
Despite his caution, the difficult woman he once knew seemed gone.
He almost thought about going for another round.
Shaking the fleeting thought away, he pulled his trousers back up.
Roughly patting her head as aftercare, he left the room.
There was no need for the foolish games of young lovers just starting out. His relationship with Cianie would be long, and tonight he would take her again.
No rush. He had other women to care for too; he couldn’t exhaust himself on just one.
* * *
The girl with cat ears and a tail stretched out straight noticed the intruder entering and quickly turned around, covering her body wrapped in bubbles.
”…Why…”
”Why what? Come on, let’s share the bath,” he said with a sly grin.
As he approached, she began to fumble nervously—an unusual reaction. They had bathed together before without issue, so this sudden hesitation was odd. But the reason was obvious: it was because of Cianie. Her presence made Mina hold back.
”…Why are you embarrassed? It’s not like any other guy—it’s me. You can show off as much as you want.”
”…But…”
Though she seemed bold, she was really shy deep down. He recalled the time at the shop, then moved behind her. He gently grabbed her waist and slid his hands around her chest, which was modest yet soft. She glanced at him with wide eyes and lowered ears, clearly flustered.
”…Mina… are you Sir Klock’s woman?”
”Yeah. What, you’re holding back just because Cianie’s here?”
”…Well…”
”You’re mine. If anyone asks, just say I said so.”
He wanted to keep things steady with Mina. The situation with Cianie was uncertain, and Suzette was still out there somewhere. It was too soon to call it quits.
”But won’t it be cheating?”
”What are you talking about? You’re mine, and that’s all that matters.”
Despite the harsh words, Mina fell silent. If she wanted to end things, she would have spoken up. Instead, she didn’t resist when he pressed against her back, showing she wanted to keep their bond intact. He could hold onto her if he tried.
”Sir Klock and the hero-sama are childhood friends and lovers, right?”
”Yeah, that’s right.”
Mina lowered her voice, “…I just don’t want to become the hero-sama’s enemy…”
”Don’t worry about that. Mina’s just someone I’m close to. She told me it was okay. No one’s doing anything wrong, so relax.”
Keeping their relationship quiet was important. If anyone asked, he’d say they were just continuing an old arrangement.
”…But…”
”It’ll be fine. That guy even said Mina could be considered a special companion. Come on, let’s just be close friends.”
He gently moved closer, the warmth of the bath surrounding them. The soft sounds of water and bubbles filled the air as they shared the moment quietly. When she looked at him, shy yet trusting, a wave of affection washed over him.
He washed the soap off her, careful and tender. Mina didn’t like baths, but she held onto the edge and leaned into him. Her small frame felt delicate, yet real.
Mina’s scent was comforting—the unmistakable warmth of a woman, mixed with the clean aroma of sun-dried laundry. Unlike Cianie, who seemed almost too perfect, Mina was real, human, and deeply alive.
”Ah, Mina makes me feel at ease. I could never let her go.”
”R-really?”
Her expression brightened. She brushed against him lightly, whether by chance or intention. The simplest way to handle her was with kindness and praise. She was the easiest to care for.
He rinsed her hair gently, the water cascading like soft rain. As they lingered, the peaceful intimacy between them spoke louder than words.
”Sir Klock… with the hero-sama right there… you really like Mina that much?”
”Yeah. I’m not letting go. If being a special companion isn’t enough, I’ll keep you close however it works—servant, protector, whatever.”
He whispered softly, the warmth between them deepening.
”You’re easy to love. I’m glad you’re mine.”
Mina smiled, a shy but genuine smile.
There were others—Cianie, Suzette, even someone missing like a secret. If Mina knew everything, she might run, but ignorance was bliss.
They shared quiet moments, peaceful and full of warmth. He stayed close, savoring the comfort of her presence.
After the bath, Mina joined him in the tub, but only if she could stay in his arms.
”…Hey, for friend-sex, it’s better not to get too close inside. Sometimes pregnancies can happen.”
Beastkin rarely conceive outside of their mating season, but it wasn’t impossible.
”Ah? That’s fine. The bigger the baby, the better. I wouldn’t just abandon a pregnant woman.”
”…Yeah. But that’s probably more like lover-sex, not friend-sex…”
”Don’t worry. Friends can have a couple kids, no problem.”
Friends having kids? Maybe not common. But for slaves or owners, that was a different story. Perhaps hierarchy made things easier. For now, forget the word ‘lover.’
”Alright, we leave soon. Boorinel first, then we look for Ms. Suzette. Are you both ready?”
After their bath and breakfast, they waited restlessly in the living room. Cianie, fresh from her morning bath as well, spoke.
The moment had finally come. Why did meeting a woman he’d lived with make him so nervous?
It felt casual, but it was like going to war. If Suzette and Cianie fought, only he could stop it.
There was no need to think about strength differences. Cianie was the real problem, personality-wise. To protect Suzette, Klock had to intervene first. Avoiding Boorinel or not meeting Suzette wasn’t an option. Cianie, eager to talk, would go alone if needed. The idea of Klock not going was unthinkable.
”Mina, I’m counting on you if anything happens.”
”Okay. I’ll do my best…”
He hoped she would help mediate if a fight broke out. Mina was already prepared for that. Once negotiations turned hostile, nothing could be done but ask as much as possible. That meant having her involved too.
If it escalated to blades drawn, only the hero party’s comrades could stop it.
”…Let’s jump then.”
The house, easily moved, was tidied—no trace left, just a hollow in the rocky ridge.
Even tidying was a huge task.
That this woman was supposed to be his—too much to handle—unease passed through him again, but he forced it away.
The three gathered side by side, fists clenched with slight tension. Silent pleas for peace hung in the air as he took Cianie’s hand—
Suddenly, vision shifted and vanished.
The body sensation disappeared in an instant, as if he’d become the wind.
Before he blinked—
”Fast.”
An unfamiliar town spread wide before Klock’s eyes.
Completely unlike their leap to the Empire. No discomfort, no nausea.
So teleportation was supposed to feel this comfortable.
”Klock. Step back.”
Amid the scenery, a roaring crimson light flashed.
A massive, searing mass flew dead straight toward them.
Like a sun descending into the town.
Why was there a miniature sun inside the town?
That childish thought crossed his mind before he remembered something important.
”Ah, crap. Come to think–– Sis––”
A thunderous explosion echoed through the streets.
