Chapter 139 Let’s Reform the Villainess
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
I broke into the estate of the villainess, Violetta, to try and convince her not to harm Princess Elisabeth any further.
Under the piercing gazes of the servants – eyes filled with curiosity, fear, and confusion – I held her trembling body close. Gently at times, and firmly at others, I continued my careful, heartfelt “dialogue.”
The eyes of the gallery didn’t bother me in the slightest. In fact, this very public spectacle only helped shatter her fragile, towering pride – and drove the image of me deep into the core of her being.
Just the two of us, Violetta and me – a special night all our own.
(…It’s been about an hour since I got to this mansion, hasn’t it?)
I should probably call it here for tonight. Any longer, and her family – or the other servants in the house – might grow suspicious.
I released Violetta from my embrace and gave her back a gentle nudge, urging her toward the frozen servants. She seemed limp, as if feverish, but she didn’t collapse – she held her ground firmly on her own two feet.
The reason I’d let her go was simple: so she could use her magic.
Violetta was now outside the range of my [Magic Seal].
”Listen up. Use your specialty – mental manipulation magic – to plant a suggestion in these people so they never speak a word of what happened here tonight,” I ordered.
”U-Understood,” she stammered.
At my quiet command, Violetta’s pale lavender eyes glowed with an eerie light as she cast powerful mental manipulation magic on the servants.
The eyes of the servants, lined up before her like stone statues, instantly turned into dull glass beads. Their memories of tonight remained intact – but the potent suggestion ensured they would never, ever reveal the forbidden relationship between Violetta and me.
”…Hmph. Well done,” I said.
I ordered her to send the servants out of the room. Then, as a final touch, I grabbed her slender arm, pulled her close, and pressed a reward kiss onto her lips.
She struggled for just a moment – but her resistance was far too weak. Mentally and physically, she had no choice but to surrender.
Eventually, I broke the kiss and gently pushed Violetta’s beautiful face down onto the nearby bed.
”Stay face-down for a while,” I ordered quietly.
It was to keep my teleportation from being seen.
”Until tomorrow, then,” I added.
I used my magic and teleported back to my own estate.
The next day.
After arriving at school, I casually looked for Violetta. She was surrounded, as usual, by her flashy circle of noble daughters.
When she caught sight of me, Violetta flinched, her shoulders trembling. Her face turned as red as an apple, and she quickly averted her gaze. The girls around her shot me suspicious, questioning glares – but I ignored them completely and headed to my own classroom.
(Hm. Seems I’ve managed to influence Violetta’s mind quite deeply – and quite nicely.)
Strike while the iron’s hot, as they say. Starting today, for a while, I’d be visiting her sweet-smelling room every night to deliver my “sermons.”1
People’s hearts – and their hardened beliefs – don’t change easily. But with patience and close, continued “dialogue,” change isn’t impossible.
If I can bring real change to the dangerous and childish core of her heart – the part that cries out to eliminate anyone in her way – then she’ll no longer be a threat to us.
Violetta’s pride, her twisted impulses… I’ll quietly overwrite them all with something greater: me.
That night.
I teleported back to Violetta’s room.
The room was empty.
Her dinner time was fairly consistent, so I’d timed my arrival accordingly. As if I owned the place, I sat myself down boldly on her girlish bed and waited for Violetta – my poor, pitiful prey.
Night had wrapped the world in darkness – only the moonlight spilled in through the window, a silver ribbon falling silently.
Eventually, the mistress of the room arrived. Two maids followed behind her, likely to attend to her needs.
”Yo. I’m back,” I called out.
”Eep – ! H-How did you get in here…?!” she gasped.
Having breached the supposedly tight security of the Azalea Duke estate once yesterday and again today, she was deeply shaken.
I moved swiftly, pinning the flustered Violetta down and completely sealing her movements.
”Relax. I’m not going to hurt you,” I said.
The maids didn’t move. A lingering effect of the magic Violetta had cast herself yesterday, no doubt. No matter what I did to her in this room, they’d stay silent – mere spectators.
Though she’d shown a flicker of resistance at first, Violetta quickly grew obedient. And so, night after night, I continued my close “dialogue” with the villainess, building a sweet, careful relationship with her.
The reason she wanted Elisabeth dead was simple: her beloved Prince Liam was engaged to her.
So, if I could shift Violetta’s heart – away from Prince Liam and fully toward me – then the problem would solve itself.
Simple logic, really.
Or, if I could change the very core of her nature – the part that would kill to eliminate obstacles – then she’d cease to be a threat entirely.
Before I knew it, the season was creeping from spring toward summer. The flowers in the gardens were beginning to shift into deeper, more vivid colors.
”Master. Please wake up. It’s morning~desuwa,” Lilia said.
She drew the curtains, and the brilliant summer morning light flooded the bedroom.
Lately, I’d been making nightly trips to Violetta’s room for “persuasion,” so it had become routine for Lilia to wake me before I’d naturally open my eyes.
”…Ah. Right. Today’s a day off, isn’t it?” I asked.
”Yes. Breakfast is ready. And after that, you’re scheduled to infuse your mana into the sword,” she replied.
Right.
Last night, I’d received word from the dwarf princess Eil that my exclusive weapon was finally complete. So this morning, I was going to test it out.
The sword she’d forged using every ounce of her skill wasn’t just any weapon – it was a Magic Sword.
For the final step, I, the wielder, had to channel my own mana directly into the blade. Depending on how much mana was poured in, the sword would develop unique properties and display various effects.
And the final result – what that Magic Sword would actually do – was something even Eil herself didn’t know.
Now, I was about to find out for myself.
From recruiting a blacksmith to hunting down materials, I’d poured so much effort into this Exclusive Weapon… and now, finally, its completion was here.
(So… what kind of magic will I be able to use? I can’t wait.)
After all, this Magic Sword was made with top-tier magical materials. Its effects were a complete unknown. My heart pounded with anticipation.
