Alex grips a dagger in his hand, the blade rusted and covered in a shiny oil that sparkles like a beetle.
That’s a deadly poison.
”Ah, man, did I mess up? It’s that old man’s fault! It was self-defense, I’m not in the wrong!”
Mr. Laken’s body is wrapped in light, bursting apart into glowing particles.
Only a few gold coins are left behind.
”This guy dropped some gold coins! Hahaha, just like a goblin!”
Whether he thinks he’s being bad or he’s just a true villain, Alex laughs joyfully.
Shea-Shea is stunned and collapses, shock has taken away her strength to escape.
”Well, alright, I guess I’ve fallen to the dark side now. Let’s do this on hard mode!”
Is he saying this to scare Shea-Shea?
He grabs her trembling hair, forcing her to stand, then steals a kiss.
The light returns to Shea-Shea’s eyes, but she’s at Alex’s mercy.
”I like you, so I’ll make you my slave number one. Feel honored.”
”…Yes…”
She seems to have no strength left to resist, obeying Alex completely.
Feeling too confident, Alex starts to remove Shea-Shea’s clothes, but he seems to be clumsy and flustered.
What should I do… Should I just sit by and watch?
I don’t want to kill anyone, but I’ve made up my mind.
If I fail, I’ll get killed, so it’s a fair game.
I draw my bow.
I’ll aim for a quick kill, just like I do with quails, finding a critical combo.
If I shoot an arrow through his eye into his brain, he shouldn’t survive, no matter his HP.
Even if I kill him, he’ll probably resurrect in some church and come back for revenge.
Clang, clang!
It’s the familiar sound of a bell, ringing from a nearby church to warn the village of danger.
Mr. Laken must have safely resurrected in the church; it’s a small blessing.
”Tch.”
In this situation, it seems he doesn’t have the luxury to assault a woman; Alex runs to the window to check outside.
”These trash are thinking of fighting me?”
Alex readies his dagger, hiding behind the door.
Is he waiting for the right moment to jump out?
I can’t tell if he’s a coward or a battle junkie, but he sure gets fired up against weaker opponents.
”I’m invincible! If I kill everyone in the village, there won’t be any proof. I’m unbeatable, I’m unbeatable, I’m unbeatable!”
Alex’s knees are shaking like crazy.
He really is a scaredy-cat at heart.
──For a moment, I thought he looked pitiful. Maybe he was bullied on Earth after all.
But I can’t let him do whatever he wants any longer.
Numbers are strength; I’ll beat him down and capture him alive.
Just as Alex tried to jump out, I shot an arrow right through the back of his right knee.
With his joint pierced by the arrow, he probably can’t move.
But even with one leg out of commission, Alex attacks the surrounded villagers with terrifying speed.
I can’t even track him with my eyes; he moves like a weasel.
My second arrow misses thanks to his ridiculous evasion skill.
It looks like a surprise attack is the only way to get through.
In that moment, I found myself locking eyes with Alex as he turned around.
He spots me and rushes over in a hurry.
To move like that on one leg!
That’s not normal for a human.
If Ms. Lime hadn’t jumped in to protect me, I would have followed Mr. Laken.
Alex’s movement freezes for a second when he stabs a dagger into Ms. Lime’s left chest.
I quickly swing my axe and chop into his left knee.
My crafting skill is just as good as my swordsmanship when it comes to cutting.
Alex, now missing his left leg, can’t run anymore.
The villagers start to beat him with long forks used for harvesting wheat.
Good, it looks like we can capture him alive.
”You guys… I won’t… forgive you! I’ll definitely kill everyone in this village!”
Alex throws away his dagger and quickly puts something in his mouth.
His body gets wrapped in light──this is the third time today I’ve seen this scene.
When the light fades, only a broken dagger remains.
So that’s what a drop item is.
”Did he drink poison? He’s well prepared.”
Mr. Laken, supported by Ms. Lucia, looks really worn out.
He’s died once, right?
I can’t even imagine what that feels like since I’ve never died.
Alex had a special poison so he could die anytime without pain.
If the secret church was his respawn point, it would be hard to catch Alex.
Dying and going back is like teleporting, in a way.

After that, Ms. Nina already reported the situation to the management bureau using her laptop’s emergency function.
Mr. Laken will also put Alexander on the wanted list through the guild network.
I thought I was done with him…
A few days later, Mr. Laken called me, and my jaw dropped.
That Alex, he sued me and Toyata Village at the Legal Affairs Bureau!
