”Die, you bastard!”
Alex points his right hand at me, his mana gathering.
It looks like he’s serious.
His mana is much stronger than mine, but it seems uneven.
I guess it’s better to use a staff for magic.
”Teleport!”
I shout back, not wanting to lose, and activate the Spiral Gun I’ve been charging at my fingertips.
The Spiral Gun is a original skill of mine, like a cat’s cradle, that slams a compressed cognitive impairment spell right into the enemy.
It’s limited in effect, but it should be hard to resist.
My biggest worry is that Alex’s luck ability is maxed out at 20.
But worrying won’t change anything.
Now, hit directly with a high-density cognitive impairment spell, Alex can’t recognize me for a moment.
I immediately activate my Stealth skill with full strength.
Now Alex should see me vanish suddenly.
”Oops”
A flash bursts from Alex’s right hand, and there’s a loud pop as something seems to misfire.
It looks like his magic arrow, about to activate, missed the target and backfired.
Not aimed at me, but lucky.
”Ouch, ouch!”
He seems to have lightly burned his right hand.
If his wrist hadn’t blown off, is it because of his high luck?
Seeing this, I think a staff is essential for attack magic.
”Fuck you, asshole! How can a nobody like you use teleport?!”
Alex kicks over the table in anger.
Close, close, I almost got hit by the falling table.
Teleport is a time-space magic that can be used around level 50.
The fastest to learn is the sage, which should be around the 30s.
It consumes a massive amount of MP, so it’s hard to master unless you have a job with a bonus to max MP.
You might as well say it’s a sage-exclusive magic.
Since you can earn money like a taxi, there are quite a few people who become sages for a steady income.
In a big town, there’s usually a teleport shop.
Anyone with gold and a pass can get teleported.
Because of things like that, teleport magic is widely known, and Alex should know about it too.
If I just disappeared right in front of him, he would first suspect Stealth skill.
If Alex’s job is Rogue, he must have Searching skill or Stealth skill too.
His skill level isn’t very high, so even if he uses Searching skill, I don’t think he could see through my Stealth skill.
But if he swings his stick around randomly, that could be bad.
But since I shouted “Teleport,” he probably forgot that I used Stealth skill.
It’s common sense that you can’t activate Stealth skill when the enemy is looking at you.
”Damn it, damn it! It’s an item! That rich guy escaped with a rare teleport item! He was a good target, damn it!”
He’s misunderstanding things pretty well.
He’s smart enough to fall for simple tricks.
”Um, are you okay?”
There was a loud noise, so Shea-Shea peeked in from the kitchen.
I think even Alex wouldn’t attack a guild staff, but it’s safer not to get involved at all.
”Well, that’s a bad injury.”
It’s not that bad, not that bad!
Shea-Shea is treating him even though she shouldn’t.
Can this girl use healing magic? Oh no, she healed him!
”Wow, you’re pretty useful.”
After the treatment, Alex grabbed Shea-Shea’s arm and pulled her close against her will.
This is the kind of sleazy behavior I expected, but he really is an idiot.
”Kyaaaaa!”
Usually, Shea-Shea speaks quietly, but she screams really loudly.
Alex was startled for a moment but didn’t let go of her hand.
”Shut up!”
Oh, without hesitation, he punched the girl in the face.
”How dare you act so smart, you NPC!”
An NPC, huh? Is he still thinking like a game character since he was just summoned?
I wouldn’t think anyone would go that far with a game NPC.
This is trouble. If I can win against Alex, it looks like I’ll have to take him by surprise for a quick kill, but I can’t bring myself to kill someone.
I want to save Shea-Shea, but if I intervene carelessly, I might just end up getting killed.
I can only wait for a chance to come my way.
”Hey, what are you doing?”
While I was struggling, Mr. Laken came to peek.
By the way, Mr. Laken is pretty strong too; he bragged about being a level 15 warrior.
When Mr. Laken was young, there weren’t many summoned heroes, so people in this world fought monsters.
It seems like a real man could usually defeat an orc.
”Ah, um, this is…”
Alex suddenly became all nervous.
He really is a coward, that guy.
Oh boy, is this finally over?
I hope this idiot never comes near this village again.
”Let go of that girl!”
Mr. Laken grabbed Alex by the collar… and then just fell over.
Huh?
